When I started, fake it till you make it was the conventional wisdom when it came to learning how to meet people and become confident doing so. This helped me a lot in the initial stages, I created a brash character. There's definitely something to be said for acting AS IF. For those who are not natural extroverts, the idea of meeting and talking to new people is abhorrent. But hovering at the side of a room hoping no one will notice you is not going to improve your odds of success. Instead, *force yourself to act as if* you’re not horrified at the thoughts of forced conversations, put on a smile and say hello to someone. Eventually you figure out that a lot of the folks in the room feel the same way you do about these situations. It won’t get easier immediately, but it will over time.

Authenticity sells everything. After all, in a society built around lies, isn't that what we all long for deep down? You made me realize it's not about who you portrait, but how you portrait yourself. In fact it's deeper than that. It's not even about portraiting anything, it's about being without the need to be anything but what you are. It's our most fundamental battle against ourselves, the fight to be someone we're not. We want to own everything, but we never own ourselves. All because we think impressing other people is more important than being authentic. Such a huge flaw in our upbringing/society. We, as a society, are manufacturing shells of people, and then wonder why we all face the problems that we are facing currently. It's like running a server on cheap computers that were merely made to look cool on the outside.

Can you imagine this being taught at school. And I wonder how many kids have the awareness to actually comprehend a lot of this anyway. Even if many did, those with major character flaws would have their behaviour scrutinised and played upon by all.

Seems to me that the problem here is almost all of us are NOT extroverted loud outgoing demonstrative supercharged people like Julien is. He says what is the supercharged version of us? Well, that would then be someone who is extremely quiet, extremely introverted, and more unlikely than ever to succeed in demonstrating charisma to some stranger. What I got from this aggressive video is that to do what he says, we must become the exact opposite of what we are now. And lord knows that can never work! Becoming supercharged is completely unrelated to the core of our present selves. Let me give a small example. As an artist/designer who worked in NYC, I did some work for the owner of a small firm after an introduction by a fellow freelancer (both of them female). I (male) tend to come across as modest and quiet, so when meeting this new employer I did not boast about my skills and background at all. I did illustrations for her for the client Canon camera products. She found them to be incredibly well done and perfect, so she told the other woman freelancer that "he really undersells himself", which got back to me. Here was a rare case when one gets to hear a real opinion about how I may appear to others. But, was that going to change my personality going forward?? Absolutely not, because to do so, that would mean I have to become what I consider to be a "braggadocio a88hole". For me, let the talents speak for themselves.

Extroverted and introverted is fake concept, we people more than that, we are all. What you called introverted is sociaty conditioned/childhood trauma. Some time you this some time you that. That is who you are
@ahabalheis2478
@ahabalheis2478 Жыл бұрын
Yeah it's a spectrum and it doesn't mean you're a caveman or a marauder, either this or that, but there are introverted people who prefer much more alone time than extroverted people who require a crowd and people for different bursts of energy, some get drained by being alone and some get drained by being outgoing It's not fake, you just have a simple understanding of it, I agree with the comment
@baiihai1531
@baiihai1531 Жыл бұрын
@@ahabalheis2478 people said they are introvert in the internet mostly expericence deep childhood trauma and lives with anxiety/depression so they freak out of everything. They said they don't get drained by being alone but its actually not true, they are still self-sabotaging in subconscious mind.

Can you give me evidence for your claims that all introverted people are just ptsd trauma survivors, I went through that and I'm considered an ambivert which is a mixture of both needing alone time and people depending I'd like proof for your claims
