This is a review of the Suhr Legacy Limited Edition electric guitar. This iconic electric was originally designed for Mark Knopfler and now it's back!

A fantastic looking and sounding guitar reminiscent of the one Mark used for the “On Every Street” album and tour. Great Knopfler inspired playing as well, Shane.

That is definitely one of the most awesome guitars you've ever presented man I am flabbergasted..that is absolutely the top of the food chain. Thank you if it plays as good as it looks I couldn't put it down...2thumbs up. Awesome video. 👌

I have exactly that guitar- (well, not that actual guitar, but exactly the same model here in the UK) - lefty too. Bought it just about a month ago, it’s amazingly good. Build quality is absolutely top notch. Neck is probably the best I have (I have relatively short fingers). The overall feel is so good. I’ve never had EMGs before, I’m a fan of these now. And instant nostalgia, immediately transported back to the Mandela concert in the late 80’s, and thinking ‘what IS that amazing looking guitar?’ One happy, if somewhat poorer, bunny here!

Excellent guitar, i got to see Mark use it live in '92 in Cardiff Arms park (does not exist anymore) on the 'On every streets' tour- that old stadium had some killer gigs in the 90s -The Stones,U2, Van Halen(they played support for Bon Jovi-fcking cheek lol,it should have been the other way around) M Jackson, Bon Jovi,Brian Adams, Tina Turner & more). That was a GREAT decade for live music & NOT A *&@^!%$ CELL PHONE IN SIGHT :). Keep the excellent vids coming Shane....

I have tried to get into Suhr guitars so many times. I have bought and sold 3 of them so far, and considering a 4th try. I just never seem to connect with them like I do with my Fender and PRS guitars. Suhrs are amazingly well made, beautiful instruments, similar to PRS. But they just feel sterile to me. I know it’s psychological, but they just don’t seem to have the same kind of soul my other guitars have when I play them. But I’ll keep trying I guess.

One thing I notice about them is that the single note clarity is phenomenal which is both its gift and its curse. My PRS silversky had a little bit of "sizzle" and ambience to it but the Suhr Classic is clean and clear which some might classify as "sterile." Solution? Own two strats lol.

Sad I didn't buy the Gibson Knopfler Les Paul. Had the chance and the money. Maybe the Suhr. Who am I kidding I can't buy another guitar.

Thank you. I am a Knopfler fan (check out the Dire Straits set for the Nelson Mandela 1988 birthday concert, where Mark shows the versatility of this axe from Sultans, to Money, to Brothers in Arms). The link to Guitar Center appears to be a used one… is the Thoman offering new, and are they shipping within the US. I may reach out to them. I live only 80 minutes down the highway in San Diego from Suhr, so it seems strange to order this from half way around the world!

I seem to recall Knopfler’s Suhr had a Floyd, I much prefer the unit on this one. Way above my ability to justify that instrument.

Pretty guitar and appears well made, but tone-wise I'd prefer a telecaster, or even a strat.

So, Mark Knopfler now use Pensa guitar... Which is Rudy's guitar store home brand (named after Rudy's guitar owners name, Rudy Pensa) and John suhr used to build guitar there, after he left fender custom 😁 ... Such a small world after all... 🤣

Mark used this one ( with a Soldano slo 100 no less ) because he was sick of changing guitars so much. He wanted something that could do it all.

Well, this is not really that Guitar. Mark's had bindings all over the neck / body and non-flat top finish, plus floyd rose. The caramel top is also quite different. still a gorgeous guitar tho

Im not an Ibanez fan but their AZ2204 sounds better. Probably cause EMGs are more meant for metal.

RRP in Australia is $7.2K….you can get it for $6K after some haggling…I know for the fact…as I just did lol. In Australia this model is only available via Better Music Australia

@@MDCSYD I only had a quick look at the price at Thomann in AUD. I think for those sorts of prices for a manufactured guitar is crazy, but each to their own. For those sorts of dollars I'd be throwing it at Piers Crocker and say build me a Crockinbacker 😁 Better or DW Music is my go to as well although I tend to find DW's pricing more normal than BM and no need to haggle too much.

@@intheblues bless you but its always been the same. the site looks like it was made in the 90's! Terrible to get around and then when you send an enquiry he never replies. I don't understand how anyone ever buys a guitar off him. he needs a young person to sort it all out, bring it up to date.
