For example, he once resisted a torture attempt because he perceived it as having lasted for hours, rather than days, but then felt it as having occurred 5 minutes ago for 2 years, which lead him to try to kill himself. I assume that Savant ran out of PTSD rather than cowardice for this reason. Apart from this, Savant is a genius, skilled at martial arts, computer operation, and multiple languages.

Disney fired him at first but then they called him back, because they were only very bad jokes made with the purpose of scandalizing. At the time he was making horror movies full of dark humour so that kind of jokes were perfectly contextualized.

And Disney didn't call them back because they were wrong, they did it solely because he is a good director and makes them money on massive levels. People that they don't think will make them enough money or are worth the criticism they get for working with them don't get that treatment, such as Johnny Depp despite being proven innocent. This doesn't mean that Gunn is a pedo, of course, but him being hired back and continuing work is hardly a definitive sign of innocence.

This is completely theoretical but maybe because the soldiers knew they were up against "meta" humans, they decided the best course of action was putting up complete suppressive fire, then slowly surround them from all sides as opposed to charging aimlessly in the dark to pick them off where the villains might counter attack or trick them into committing friendly fire.

Some people don't like Captain Boomerang's death but I thought it was brilliant. He was a recognisable character from the first movie, with decent popularity and felt like a main character. Simply put, he was the perfect choice to kill off to establish the tone of anyone can die at any time. In fact, it was because of his death that the only character who really felt invincible was Harley.

And also, 'convince naive kids'? I'm sorry to break it to you, but literally no-one writes a certain way to convince people that they're a good writer, they write to create tone, establish characters, move the plot, build the world etc... which this did. Whatever the reasons for Boomerang being killed off the writing team still deserves credit.

According to James Gunn himself, the main reason why he wanted to kill off Captain Boomerang in the opening of The Suicide Squad (2021) was because he wanted to set the tone of the movie for the audience that anyone can die in this movie at any time.

@@thefilmrookie3099 I disagree. I think it would’ve been better with them living. The first squad dying while unique, didn’t add much at all to the story. If they were cut entirely, it wouldn’t be much different. All you’d have to do is write it so Harley gets captured and Rick gets saved by the freedom fighters. Everyone should’ve survived the opening scene.

I was thinking that if they were outside of a straightforward battle situation then the arms could be used to lure enemies into a place where they could be ambushed one-by-one. Or they could be used to play tricks on enemies and make them paranoid, likely to turn on each other. It just seems that having him fighting in a battle out in the open the way they did with him fighting this way was ill-advised. Those arms (and him for that matter) are too easy to target. At the very least he should have taken cover, not that seeing how he fought, and the team's reactions (mostly the team's reaction) were not funny.

I don't care if anybody likes or hates the movie (or why), that's their business. If you liked it, great, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself for a couple hours--give or take, depending on the runtime. All I said was why I didn't bother.

You know that most people who go to war survive right? Having like a 30% death ratio on a mission is considered a massive failure in most case even if the mission is a success. So no this isn’t a good example of a military mission. It is a great example of what would happen if you sent a group of people who were never taught how to work as a team on a battlefield.
