Today’s video is a special one! It’s time to reveal The Sun Bear! The first ever The Perfect Bag collaboration with the amazing folks from Ctactical Vietnam!
Important to note, the platform that we based The Sun Bear on is the new CT26+. This bag will actually likely be slightly larger than that when all is said and done. I’m guessing 30 L but the exact dimensions and all stats are coming in a second video. Yes, there will be a SECOND VIDEO with all the details including dimensions, cost, charitable info, and more! That's great - they're making bags that GORUCK won't make! Breathable back and EDC organisers. I hope they make one slightly bigger like a GR2 34L and make the compression straps removable.

hey klint! i know you are reading these and that means a lot! LOVE the bag and the colors as they tie into the channel also. i’ll be buying either way however, i’m team removable compression straps also, a good way to make everyone happy would be ecopak loops and tan straps that can be removed for a slick look. Also a nice touch would be only compression on the main compartment( at least on the top straps) so we don’t have to in clip it to open the admin panel. thanks for your hard work!

That really looks like an upgraded Goruck bag. Might just be the patch on the front and the shoulderstraps but it feels like that you have taken everything good from the Goruck and removed all the strange stuff.

I have a GR2 sitting next to me right now, and I think that while the original CT bags looked like goruck bags, this one has very little of that DNA. GoRuck doesn't have a patent on rectangular bags or on 3x2 hook and loop fields. But I do understand the comparisons.

My first thought: "that back panel padding, tho!" Seriously, if CT tactical starts adding ventilated back panels like this to their bags on the regular, they gain another competitive edge, because those looking for a GoRuck-style bag with no intention to ruck often decry the lack of ventilation. Your enthusiasm is infectious, & it seems like your love of GR136's designs on their bags has made its way into this bag, which I think is a good thing. I was looking at saving up for the new AON Evade, but I think this one seems like an even better upgrade. Great work! Also, way to set an amazing example with donating the profits to charity!

Love the color combinations and the overall bag. Two things I’d add: 1. I hate dangling compression straps when opening the bag. So, I’d sew in magnets along the sides and front panel so that the straps can be moved away and stay in place when opening the compartments; and 2. I would have made the zippered mesh pocket that is on the inside on the front panel a double zipper. A zipper at the top and bottom of the pocket. When the front compartment is fully opened and the front panel is folded over you can access items through the bottom zipper. Other than that, great bag and great cause!

I'm sorry, but I've got to be honest. I LOVE IT!!! I flippin love love love it. The change on the laptop sleeve. The large front pocket turned into two. The organization. Especially the thought process with regard to the slots involved in the organization. No goofy credit card slots. The top quick access pocket! It looks like it's actually wide enough for a human hand to go in! That's been my favorite thing about the CPL 24. A quick access that I can quickly access. LoL. The weather proof zips with garages! That secondary oganization spot. It reminds me a bit of the aer travel pack 3 small in that way. Which is absolutely a good thing. The dual access pocket on the main compartment flap! Genius! I love the dimension that is incorporated into that pocket as well. The decision to leave the back panel of the main compartment hook and loop. Keeping the two side pockets on the interior of the main compartment. I use them for things like a big battery back up and whatnots. The padding on the back! Ooooh. It looks so comfy! As well as the added padding on the straps. I don't have any experience with that fabric yet, but it looks cooool! I honestly think you have a winner there. And I can't leave out the great flippin cause that sales of the bag will go to! My dad just passed and he donated to an organization that provides services to the blind in that area of the world. So it's so cool to see that love continue to be given. This might be the bag that sees me finally actually launch my own channel that I've been thinking about making for years. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Well done, my friend. ❤

This would be just about perfect if the compression strap attachment point for the top front of the bag was somehow BEHIND the admin pocket. I would absolutely hate to have to unclip the compression straps just to be able to unzip it all the way there.

Wow man, this is an excellent collab with bunch of well thought out modifications. The dual side pockets and the dual-front pockets are excellent. And I love, love, love the admin sections/pockets. Nice! Great job! Looks like the padding of the straps extend longer than the Assassin? This would be an improvement, as I read some tall guys have issues with the regular CT strap padding being too short. Question: are the compression straps removable?

I’m currently rocking GR2 26L XPac.. thought I had my perfect bag until this appeared! Are the compression straps removable? And I didn’t see zipper garage for the top quick access pocket, or maybe I didn’t notice it in the video? Keeping some degree of rain out of the internals is one of the top features I look for in backpacks. Can’t wait for the next video! 🤞🏻

Got the v3.0... The quick access pocket on the upper side is a really nice. Backpack feels solid and comfortable. Hope they make a bigger backpack like this with more affordable price, cause Im looking forward to.

I’ve got one for you. There doesn’t seem to be a luggage strap… what if you switch up the buckles on the top compression strap so you can lock them together behind the bag to create a luggage strap when you need it? Or just add a luggage strap lol

😬Compression Straps A BIG Fail. ❌Sorry bud. I see you’re passionate about it but it’s a deal breaker for me and many others based on the comments. Also, not sure what you were thinking with these colors but it doesn’t make any sense. Way too much going on. I could live with the colors but not with the compression straps. Also not crazy about the zipper pull tabs. On another note, I do love the bottle pockets with the stretchy material.

Compression straps are legit. I use them on my 5.11. Keeps things lean and not jostling around
