From Nintendo and Illumination comes a new animated film based on the world of Super Mario Bros.
Directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic (collaborators on Teen Titans Go!, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies) from a screenplay by Matthew Fogel (The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, Minions: The Rise of Gru), the film stars Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.
The film is produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and by Shigeru Miyamoto for Nintendo. The film will be co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo and released worldwide by Universal Pictures.

Na it will be shit like every other movie made from games. There has never been a good movie that has came from games because there is always a disconnect from the movie makers and writers who actually don’t play the games, read the lore etc. same with with series too look at the Witcher it was a mess and the writer actually mocked the source material. M this will be a cash grab.

I just wish she at least sounded more bubbly. Just because she's cool doesn't mean she has to have the more deep cool™ voice and mannerisms so many "badass" women characters get... It's a trend that's been annoying me for years. Like Bopeep from Toy Story. Tl;dr, Peach is too much like Daisy here.

I really hope they don’t do any damsel in distress jokes because Peach never was one. She’s a strong political leader whose absence leads to the entire kingdom falling apart every time, and as early as mario bros 2 she takes matters into her own hands. Because it probably will be, just don’t screw up Peach and Mario. Both there voices are already off, with Mario lacking more energy, and Peach looking a little bit too much like Princess Daisy rather than having a light floaty voice. Thankfully Luigi, Bowser, Toad, and Kamek all look perfect. I think this movie will be a banger, but then again Jurassic World Dominion managed to let me down in the cinemas, so you never know.

Voices aren't too bad. I know a lot of folks wanted Charles to return voicing Mario but let's be honest It would have been grating to hear that voice in a two hour movie. His voice is not bad but it is best for him to voice Mario in the games. It is a shame we don't have lou albano as I always thought he was the ideal Mario and had the most accurate voice given his accent. Since Mario is an Italian-American from Brooklyn New York.

I look forward to seeing this. Sure, Chris Pratt’s voice isn’t accurate, but this is better than the 1993 one. It’s game accurate. And I like that Peach is more of a fighter than the one who always gets kidnapped.

I’m honestly set. I may watch the movie in theaters, but I’ll most likely watch it at home. But now all I genuinely need is for the hat to come to life somehow, even if it’s just for a minute. I doubt that all or even some of the worlds in Super Mario Odyssey would appear, but adding Cappy would be a nice little touch to this movie. Also! Adding the Princesses (Daisy and Rosalina) + Lady/Beautiful Girl (Pauline) in the movie would be cool!

When I played Mario kart (8 deluxe to be precise) as a kid I always used the same character and same vehicle, which was peach on a motorcycle because LOOK AT HER!! And to see that they out her on a motorcycle in the trailer is just- so awesome

Other then Jack black, most of the cast for this movie don’t sound anything like the characters they’re playing and It’s incredibly disappointing. They use their regular voices and that’s not always the best method to use for voice acting.
