I saw this Show las night on Prime on History of Gospel Quartet Groups. Wen I heard this Man, Claude Jester’s firs two or three notes, my Ears jus experienced smthng Thrilling and I want More. I kept rewinding video🥹😅🥰 The Placement and Discipline of Notes were like ‘Sneak Attacks’ The other Leading Vocalist and Background Harmonies Complimented jus as Well. I also Loved the way they Praised God on Stage. All Glory to God 🫶🏽🦋❣️

This is the music my mother sang as she cooked and cleaned in our home and it just found a place in my heart and in remembrance of her I can still visualize her 40+ years later singing this inspirational hymn. I find it most comforting when I am wondering about life's ups and downs. It can be very reassuring to the spirit and mind. The men who sang this were heavenly inspired and gifted.

Jeter and Johnson were the Stylistic predecessors to Eddie Kendricks abd David Ruffin of the Temptations. Rev. Claude Jeter surely inspired every tenor that followed him, that man's voice was Heaven sent..

This the first quartet tenor i remember hearing as a child. Sung higher but not as soulful. Only one Rev Jeter. I still know all thing are possible with Jesus!

Not everybody singing about Heaven going to Heaven. Not everybody singing about Jesus really know about him! But these men. Helped me with my Journey as a Pilgrim in this world being so lost in sin listening to their music. So I'm Grateful for the SPIRIT of My GOD that led me to them . ❤️

I can clearly now see how Paul Simon got the inspiration for Bridge over Troubled Waters from this group. Their long drawn out vocal style definitely exemplifies the same tune style found in Bridge over Troubled Waters...As a side note, this Jewish kid listening to gospel sure found the "source" of "..Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father .." James 1:17 as the source of the lyrics.

Claude Jeter the swan Silverstone are quartet trailblazers people HAVE FORGOTTEN they had strong stage present I remember them when I was a teenager

I was referred here by the Mike Bloomfield autobiography. Mike always represented the ones who brought him along and taught him- while he earned his chops. I would have never heard of the Swans; they are exemplary as musicians and the amalgamation that is American culture.

I HAVE ALWAYS UNDERSTOOD "BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER" TO BE A SONG TO US FROM JESUS. OK... not "always"... it started sometime after I was born again... so, Always, (since then). So, when I saw on KZfaq... "Simon & Garfunkel - The Story Of Bridge Over Troubled Water" I clicked on it and just before the end of that video, Paul, being interviewed by Dick Cavet, April 7th 1990 (confessed) that he thought the song may have been influenced by songs he'd been listening to by the Gospel group, "The Swan Silvertones"... and if I know anything about me... (and I do), it's that, I love to research every new thing I hear... and, if it seems right, share it on my FB wall and maybe even spread it around a bit. So this video should be getting a few more hits.
