IRL (idk how well it's actually modeled in-game) a helicopter can maintain control without the anti-torque rotor if its forward velocity is high enough. I might be wrong on the science of why that is, but I believe it's due to the difference in speed between the leading and trailing rotor blades countering the torque, combined with airflow over the fuselage helping a bit. So if you lose your tail rotor your best bet is to gain as much speed as possible and making a hard and fast landing before you can slow down enough to spin out of control. Kinda like how fighter jets have landed with one wing using high speed to make up for the loss of lift.

MrMattumbo Can be done if the helicopter is in autorotation but as soon as you change the collective control to reduce descent speed (add torque) the fuselage will immediately start to spin because there is no tail rotor to counteract the torque

@@Matt-vb1ey dude, the rudder basically _doomed_ the ship, that sentence would technically go to the PoW (Prince of Wales), since they heavily damaged the Bismarck tracking system making it hard for them to aim, possibly why they had a hard time firing at the sword fishes

7:59 He had a Phly Logo. xD Edit: That is why he was able to still kill you. That 10% to RNG rolls man. OP. On the real though, if it has enough forward airspeed, the body of the helicopter will keep it going straight. Why the tail rotor at high speeds doesn't do anything. If you watch it's shadow it starts to spin after a point, when it's slowed down. And assuming when it "dies" the main rotor goes to near idle, also why it doesn't just suddenly spin sooner.

some choppers can turn horizontally with their main engine by either increasing or decreasing the motor speed or whatever, but yes the tail section is very helpful when it comes to that, so that chopper should've lost control

The swordfish actually works quite well in naval battles with a torpedo, have claimed many cargo ships, a few destroyers and even one cruiser with it, not survived the attack run very often though, but the torpedo has a fairly good range....

About the Swordfish's bombs the 250 lb GP Mk IV had an actual weight of 217 pounds = 98.4295443 kilograms. The charge/weight was 30% so the charge weight can be calculated at 30 kg.
