The Adaptive Series LED Motorcycle Headlight

The Adaptive Series headlights are designed with advanced electronics and embedded sensors calculating bank angles on a real-time basis, automatically directing a light array up or down in the foreground as the motorcycle leans. Units are designed as a plug & play solution for a wide range of motorcycles, available in a 7" round motorcycle fairing mount, the Model 8790 Adaptive, and a 5.75” round motorcycle mounting bucket, the Model 8690 Adaptive.

Just installed the adaptive on my XSR900 and that’s its a game changer is putting it mildly. The videos do a great job, but only when you ride it will you truly appreciate how amazing it is. The cost I can tell you is justified you might say “wow” at the price when you first order it, you will say “WOW” again after you ride it.

What you need to do is take your 8700 series and make the actual lamp rotate in the housing to remain level, same end result with a more uniform beam, and looks more traditional for people that don't like the transformer-yness of this one.

Anything special that needs done if running a bike equipped with day time running light ? do you need a bracket to fit 2012 street glide and lastly is it simply plug n play ? Thanks

Frank, this installation would need a mounting ring (www.jwspeaker.com/?post_type=part&p=5544). With this bracket, it should be a simple plug and play.

yeah. they say they are made in US but the same exact thing is made in china for dirt cheap. so i dont know... And the "technology" is very very simple. its just a tipping sensor in the headlight. could have been done as soon as we invented led lights and tipping sensors. :)

JW Speaker, would you put the plain down road projection of these on par with the Evolution series? I have a dual lamp arrangement and I wonder if I used a Evolution for down road and an Adaptive for the corners that I would have a stellar lighting system? Or is the Adaptive superior in plain down road projection?

+justlooking813 The Adaptive Series lights were designed specifically for motorcycles with the same forward lumen output as our Model 8700 Evolution 2. Using a light pattern designed to maximize the benefits for motorcycle use, the Adaptive Series lights are going to outshine on any motorcycle application. For more application and installation specific questions regarding what to install for your dual lamp arrangement, contact your authorized J.W. Speaker dealer. They will be able to assist you in implementing the new Adaptive Series headlight for your bike’s arrangement.

+J.W. Speaker Corporation Thank you for your response! My scenario uses a dual 5.75 inch housing. Does the same lumen output capacity apply to the 8690 and 8630? While your at it, would you please differentiate the 8690 A with the 8690 M? It appears the A line features the adaptive lighting while the M simply shares the same optics arrangement, but not technology. Would you please also illustrate the differences between the 8630 and the 8631? Is the amber indicator the only difference? How does the wiring harness change to accept a new signal? While rather handy for an automobile, I imagine this feature might not be useful or appropriate for a motorcycle with lights in such close proximity; and even less useful in my dual unique lamp scenario. While I'm at it, here I present a concept of Signal + Adaptive headlights for dual lamp capsule motorcycles. i.imgur.com/gOiJ9kM.jpg I'll happily be a tester. The Model 8690 M offers a non-adaptive, fixed beam pattern with the same great design and state-of-the-art LEDs as the Model 8690. You can find spec information and lumen output for each Model we offer on our website, www.jwspeaker.com. When comparing the Model 8690 to the Model 8630, you will see that the Model 8690 does provide a higher lumen output. The difference between the Model 8630 and Model 8631, is that the 8631 offers an amber turn signal, designed in the outer ring of the lamp to display a flashing circle when in use. will it fit a stock bucket on a yamaha raider? yamha uses a stupid bracket inside bucket that wouldn't fit the original 5 3/4 jw speaker I have just wasting away...

The Adaptive Series headlight is available in two sizes, one of them a 7" round and the other a similar 5 3/4" round, that may have the same issue you had previously. Try reaching out to our Customer Service Team at speaker@jwspeaker.com. They may be able to find you an authorized dealer that can help troubleshoot your bracket issue.

The cost of this headlight is equal to 100 cc motorcycles but the technology is way advanced and nothing can beat it. Great product guys!

Although this is an amazing light with innovative technology, there's still not $700 worth of costs there. I could see this going for $100-200 possibly. But for now, I'll stick to a traditional static LED headlight.

Thanks for watching our video! We have limited knowledge of the Royal Enfield Classic 350, but of what we know, we believe that this is a pretty standard bucket, and our light should work in this bike. We recommend you work with your local dealer before making a final purchase decision.

Very expensive light. Looks good, but do to the cost give it a few years and they will stop making them because no one bought them. The RD was not cheap, I fully understande this. However the build cost for a light like this is MUCH less then you think. And even at $300, they are still making money. (If there not, there doing something wrong) The more likely outcome will be that some one will build a knockoff at a lower prices thats not as good. People buy 50 of thos for every 1 of these sold. The product will get a bad name, and the will kill it do to lack of sales do to it getting a bad rep because people are dumb and will think that the knockoff is actually the same light here. Sad really. LEDs where supposed to reduce the cost of lights while making them better.

First thing I noticed was that if you're leaning into a corner that is pointing in the direction of the lane of the oncoming traffic, then you're shining light right into their eyes. I prefer oncoming vehicles to be able to still see.

All these people saying they'd pay $75 and not $700 for it... you can barely get a decent aftermarket fixed LED headlight for $200, stop being moronic. It is kind of funny how they're talking about it like they've made a spaceship that's going to take us to Alpha Centauri, though. It's a headlight, folks... Any competent engineer straight out of college could build this with a few LEDs, accelerometers, and a Raspberry Pi. I know, I know... marketing.

Twin headlights is about $AU1700. Not a chance that I'd pay that for my bike. Give it some time and someone else will do it...maybe even better. They are damn nice though.

I bought the JW Speaker Adaptive 7" headlight for my 2016 HD Ultra at J&P Cycles, and it is one of the best investments I have made in my motorcycle. Es scheint ein wirklich heller LED Hauptscheinwerfer zu sein. Aber...bei aller Freundschaft...630,00 € für "nur" 1 Scheinwerfer? Das ist völlig übertrieben. Egal welche Hochleistungs LED in dem Scheinwerfer verbaut worden sind. Diese und der Neigungssensor zusammen mit der elektronischen Steuerung rechtfertigen diesen hohen Preis nicht. Und dann stellt sich die Frage: Wie oft fahre ich denn bei Dunkelheit Motorrad? Also ich fahre grundsätzlich nur bei Tageslicht. - It seems to be a really bright LED headlight. But ... with all friendship ... 630,00 € for "only" 1 headlight? That's totally overkill. No matter what high-performance LED has been installed in the headlight. These and the tilt sensor together with the electronic control do not justify this high price. And then the question arises: How often do I drive a motorcycle in the dark? So I usually only drive in daylight. - Cela semble être un phare à LED vraiment brillant. Mais ... avec toute l'amitié ... 630,00 € pour "seulement" 1 phare? C'est totalement exagéré.
