So let me get this straight, he committed fraud, sent to jail, got out, sent to jail again, got out again and then worked for the same people he impersonated. What a chad.
@danimadi3

He commited fraud, impersonated, got away with it for 20 years, learnt lots of useful skills, got a lot of knowledge on his medical duty, had a lot of self-confidence, was an awesome liar, was so smart he could come up with an escape plan that is basically impossible. Even if he wasn't employed by FBI, there's no way he wouldn't be a chad. Even Alcatraz escape is small pp compared to Frank.

Even if he did do something, taking the risk of doing something when you are so close to the FBI who are all experts in catching you do this shiet, isn't the best idea. I bet his wife really did give him a change of heart, and his job gave him no need for fraud. Once he had a child, he couldn't go back to a life of crime because now someone was depending on him.

He never passed the bar. The people who made the movie either didn't do much fact checking or took massive artistic license. The guy spent most of his early life in jail, after being caught for various small crimes like stealing cars and checks. Even after he got out of federal prison, he conned his way into a basic job at a summer camp. He subsequently got arrested for stealing camp equipment and funds. He was able to invent his impressive life story because news didn't travel very fast, in the 70s and 80s. There were still several people who exposed him but he would just wait a while and then come back when the heat was off.

There was this movie that I watched a couple of years ago that has a similar story to this. The guy pretended to be someone to impress everyone and succeeded in doing so. It was a really good movie and I really like it a lot. The main character was played by Leonardo Di Caprio. And he did a great job at it. I'd like to watch that movie again. The title is The Great Gatsby.

Lui Guasco he was good at bullshitting people, and tall for his age - about 6 foot or so. He also had many failures early on. His first conversation with some pilots at a lounge ended basically with him being found out as a liar, but I guess because pilots move around so much, nobody ever crossed paths with him twice. When one of them asked “what equipment are you on,” as in what are you flying, he answered “I’m on this chair right now.” Good stories.

You could pretty much get away with everything back then if you are smart enough to carefully evade authorities(the internet and police data hasn't existed yet so there war no way of tracking everyone's data and information). I remember my dad and his fraternity telling me that he easily cheated the university exams so there is that
@somerandomguy2073
@somerandomguy2073 4 жыл бұрын
@@genghiskhan5701 Interestingly, Frank himself said everything he did back then would be 800 times easier in this day and age. He works with the FBI and focuses on cyber crime and pointed out that to fake a cheque when he did it, he had to modify a 19ft by 16ft printing machine so it could be operated by one person, but he could do exactly the same thing on a computer in 15 minutes. He also pointed out that he had to make up names and account numbers for them, but now he could Google the real names and get the account numbers by making 2 or 3 phone calls. He disagrees that it was easier back them. Plus, despite what everyone says about post-9/11 airport security, apparently (again, according to Frank) literally nothing substancial has changed for the pilots. The passengers have to go through extreme security, but the pilots don't. He says he could still do what he did in the 21st century.
