I was so excited for him and Leroy, but as soon as I got my hands on them it was an immediate nope. They definitely feel "new tekken" in a gross way

Fahkumram was so insane for so long after his launch. Winning games with just CH3, 4 into ff+2,1 was common. I won matches with one hand holding a phone during a call. I'm liking where he is now though. He isn't too frustrating to play anymore. I think they could take some of his pressure down a notch since he has other tools he can make use of.

Oh and something you missed about his 1, 4 punish is that if your opponent wasn't holding down the back button, a d/f+2 was gauranteed. Ridiculous how often this actually worked.

Fahkumram's d/f+1+2 is one of the best "carry" moves the series has ever seen. Any time you're losing, throw that bad boy out and laugh.

Fun trivia, his command throw's break was apparently from leftover Tag2 data, as every break in that game was 14f Murray tweeted this, which might also be why his and Zafina's movement is so good in comparison to every other character in T7 :

I still maintain that Season 3 PRE-LEROY Release was the best Tekken 7 had ever been. The community was optimistic and proud of their game and the patch balanced A LOT of characters. Top tiers were nerfed and the new moves on each character was something the franchise had never seen before and brought a lot of lower tiers up to a decent enough level... ... all that changed when the Leroy Nation attacked...

I remember joking around that Fahkumram's left leg was selectively tangible, since a lot of the time lows would hit his right leg if at all, glad to know it's not only noticed but well documented

I remember on day 1 of Fahkumram's release Mainman stated he was going to main him and that he was not crazy OP. I guess there wasn't as much of an outcry about Fahk initially as there was with Leroy, but it's funny looking back in hindsight now.

It was *so* cathartic when this dumb character was finally nerfed into oblivion and landed on his ugly face in the trash tier. The bears needed the company.

The thing that causes problems is when a character has too much going for him. It used to be the fact that you would pick a character for the things they were strong in but they all always had weaknesses also. Now there are a lot of character that have it all. Wall carry, damage, movement, and so much more. Characters need strengths and weaknesses

They absolutely knew what they were doing with him. I even believe Murray trains in Muay Thai, so there was probably special bias for Ram to be uber busted on launch. (Assuming that last bit is even true.)

I remember seeing his trailer and not really knowing what Tekken 7 was. I got super interested in the game because of his trailer and he’s kinda the reason I got the game. I never got the character since I felt like I needed to earn buying a character by learning the game with the base cast. Now everyone says he’s over powered and I probably won’t ever buy them because of that lol.

I'm new to tekken 7 due to the recent cheap sale I did play killer instinct and it seems that tekken went down the same route ki did with releasing new characters, make them more powerful so people would want to get them to win matches.

U forgot to mention df1,2 second hit CH launcher. Also d4 did 18dmg. Also 1,2,1 was safe mid hit confirmable. Also b4,3 was mid mid and safe. Df1,4,1 was neutral on block and fc. 3,4,3 was CH launcher and guaranteed hit on NH. 4,3,4 was knockdown wallsplat. Just to name a few

Idk if it's just me but, I never had a problem fighting against this character on launch. I played him for a day n a half and kinda figured him out, mained him, Bryan, A. King and Gigas, mostly played Bryan. I fought against TG Fahks, TGP Fahks and Purple Fahks with my Red Bryan(before rank reset) and beat the hell out of em but lost to other characters a lot more. Matchup knowledge I guess, it's the same with Jin too even though I can't play Jin to save my life. Haven't played this game since 2020 though. I do wish he came back in T8, not nearly as “op” but as good and hard to use as Bryan. Love his design and the power and weight in his attacks like Bryan, yes I'm an edgelord :l

Would be good to see fahk, josie deleted for Bruce to return. Id go as far as trading Bryan for Brad Hawk to display previous used mechanics Namco used

I genuinely pray that we won't get broken on release characters in Tekken 8. I hope Murray and Mishimastar learn their lesson this time around, and make new characters balanced, and if they can't do that...just make them shit on release, and make them stronger throughout the course of the game. If they somehow repeat the same New Character/DLC cycle that was T7, then I'm gonna be disappointed.

I stopped wondering who tested leroy and fahk, they knew what they were doing. push out stupid op characters to drive sales, then nerf them gradually after the fact. They knew they overdid it with Leroy when he completely dominated tournaments, but they didn't patch it despite big tournaments being on the horizon. These people designed Tekken characters for years, some decades. THey absolutely know. It's their new business model, plain and simple. One of the few reasons that make me look forward less towards T8.

Season 3 started with so much potential. Season 2 was full of awesomely updated, legacy characters & S3 started with Zafina, who I was really happy to see return. Then the T6 Bob-level dlc, new characters showed up, along with Ganryu who I don't mind, but wasn't excited to see return. Why does Bamco hate chain-throws, now? No Bruce & no new chains since T5/DR. Fahk got no chain-throws, which I find odd.... Muay Thai, & all. Wanted OG Raven to return, also. An updated Unknown would been sick, as the final dlc character. That Pink Ranger Polish chick at the end was quite a cop-out. Bamco's new logo makes alot of sense, to me. Thanks for the vid, TMM.

I still think his wallgame is very cool from a design perspective when it comes to th wallsplat moves on block. Its unique because they don't have much use in the open field. What i dislike the most about him are his billion strings which are braindead to throw out. It doesn't have much to do with mindgames when you play a character who literally just string spams your enemy to death just because 4 of his 5 string extenders are not just safe but maybe even plus on block and/or cant be punished to the pushback or reach. That design choice is horribly fked up and needs to change. Just give him 2 different extenders and thats it, like most of the cast has. I believe he would feel a thousand times better to play against then.

I'm surprised that you didn't mention how his d/f+1 was +8~+9 on hit. This was absolutely not okay, especially for a d/f+1 with absurd range AND EXTENSIONS. A d/f+1 that was -3 on block and +8~+9 with that reach alone (standard 13f btw) would've been godlike, but they decided to not only give it an extension, but SEVERAL.

I want to be paid reparations from Bandai Namco for having to play against this fucking monstrosity on release. Online was absolutely ruined for months (and still kinda is tbh)

I really like the character itself and his idea of deadly knees and anckles. He looks incredible. His attacks speak juicy power. But why they made him so broken lol. His very mechanic would give him hate even if he was not in top 10 on the launch. But for some reason, Namco decided to give him godlike reach with godlike frames on top of that.

The guard brake is crazy enough and is just a random god-like tool to have for any character AND They just up and give it to him! ... I wasn't playing a ton when Fahkumram dropped so I didn't see a lot of launch Fahk. I did follow some videos of when he came out but I don't remember specific things besides the "ghost legs" effect from his strongest period. I remember more of what happened when they started nerfing him. I think they had more to work with when nerfing him compared to Leroy but he's still really powerful. His lows are tough to read but, in fairness, so are Josie's.

Being a muay thai practitioner is why I like Fahkumram as a character.

Good at start, nerf later, reason? - money, they need sell dlc character, but you cant sell something bad that why it is. Same strategy is in Path of Exile, they buff some skills and also make nice purchasable effects for that skills, and next league this skill become nerfed. We are dealing with pure marketing, and this is destroing whole gaming experience. Evreywhere marketing is involved, they just dont create art, gaming world is suffering, its all becoming like abstraction art where everyone can be an "artist".
