Checking deer stands, getting the Tent ready for the upcoming colder weather. First snow of the season. Orange clothes are hanging on the front porch. It is almost time for Deer camp.

Joe, I’ve been waiting for just you, the tent and getting ready to hunt. I don’t remember how many deer hunts I’ve been with you on, but many is not an exaggeration. I’m glad about that. Thanks for all those years of deer hunting. I’ve enjoyed each and every year of them. Love the channel, Joe!

Joe, you got excited for rifle deer hunting here in Michigan……. Back in the day, we had to be 14 years old to hunt deer with a firearm. That was 1972 for me. This this year will be my 50th year deer hunting. I still have trouble sleeping the night before! All the best to you and your family. From Rochester Hills, Michigan

Nothing like being at the camp no mater what! Hunting or getting ready for the season! Been hunting in the Same camp since 1960! Gone from being the 8 year old kid running around to the 70 year old historian and oldest member of the original camp member! My Dad organized the club in 1958 with 12 members and there is one more son of the original members! Hope y’all have a great year! OPD hunting from North Mississippi !

It is wonderful how respectful the sons are of their fathers. The fathers have raised their children responsibly and deserve the respect they get. It is how life is supposed to work but doesn't always happen that way. When it works it's a beautiful thing.

I'm always sad that Melissa doesn't accompany you more. I'm not sure that I would sit in the blind with you, but I would think she would enjoy the tent and spending time with you on the drive. I know she works, but I'd think she could schedule vacation time. Sending lots of love 💖 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵😷. Cold today 69/46F.

@@JoeandZachSurvival, everyone is different, but I would miss my husband too much at dinner, in the evenings and at night if he was away. So I always went to camp. In the later years, I didn't shoot, but I enjoyed the long walks together looking for quail and cottontails and spending time in camp when he went for elk. Same for fishing... even if I didn't want to fish, I always liked to be with him on the boat. I always brought knitting or a quilt to keep me busy in camp, but sometimes just sitting on the porch vegging after a busy week at the office was enough to pass the time he was on his own. And I always liked to surprise him with a hot meal when he came in from a hunt. With all the time that he spent away from home because of work, I spent as much time with him as I could. But we didn't have cellphones or internet back then but even with landlines... I don't think a phone call would fill the void of not being together when I knew we could have been together. I wish that happiness for you. 💖🌞🌵😷

Welp, Joe's starting to clean up, no sense watching that, seen it before. No need to watch the process again...vacuuming...windex... on wait, I might miss something though. Better see it through to the end...it would be like leaving after a visit without saying goodbye. Double fist bump to the chest, right over the heart when you saw Zach off. Made me smile big time. Great video Joe, fun to see your dad hanging around for the rifle sighting and love his comment about the deer being long gone....LOL zing!

Joe it sounds like you need to adjust the Diopter (eyepiece) on your scope to your vision. With or without glasses. You could count the rev's of the eyepiece so you could put it back to let other people use it properly. If you only use one rifle and nobody else uses it that would be the easiest.

Biltong time! Or in America, you call it......... jerky time. You guys have an awesome set up. We're starting to sweat in South Africa while you're starting to freeze. I prefer watching your cold seasons with wood stoves warming everything up. So cosy. Even though I love animals there has to be culling to keep everything in control. Too many of any animal upsets Mother Natures maintenance. There's a time and season for everything. There's also limits on the amount of deers 🦌 one can kill. I'm kinda stupid so guess this is how it works isn't it? Anyway cheers 🍻 and happy camping 🏕.

Joe and Zach, you needed some nacho cheese, onions, chili and jalapeno's on those brats, then you would have J & J hotdogs, but with brats instead of hotdogs. They are delicious. Always look forward to all these Tent videos and anything you guys get into at the Tent! Maybe it is time to pressure the DNR or whatever their called to do some coyote control hunts if it is hurting the deer population up there. Here in WV we have the issues with coyotes, of course they are not protected like wolves. Tree stands looked good. When you guys are out driving like you do, do you ever see any deer cross the road on on the edges?? I know your looking for grouse, just never hear you say anything about deer being seen. It's good seeing your dad in these videos, seems he is getting around pretty good. You should have plenty of wood for the deer hunting trip and more. Alright now here we go, the meal of the day!! I can't wait till we go to the mountain for our deer trip and we have some nice juicy steaks and baked potato on the grill! Now that is a meal for a hungry man for sure. I plan to take my computer to camp this year so I can get a jump on the video editing when we are in camp in the evenings. We have had our first dusting of snow about a week ago, then it warmed back up into the 60's and low 70's.
