Ever wonder what a cheap Italian riff on Big Trouble in Little China might look like? Well, wonder no more! We're covering American Rickshaw in today's installment of Sick Flicks!
Directed by noted Italian genre specialist Sergio Martino (Torso, Your Vice is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key), this film was had to come by for years. Now it's available on Blu-ray, for your next movie night! Released in 1989, and alternately known as American Tiger, American Rickshaw finds Mitch Gaylord caught up supernatural shenanigans that involve Donald Pleasence and a sort of female version of Lopan!
It's all too complicated to describe here, but trust me -- you won't want to miss this one!

Miami Vice is the reason I cry everytime I hear "In the Air tonight" As they played that song as Tubs would run in slow motion toward an exploding car. Which had the current love intrest of one of the main characters.

This is 100% true. He often talked about liking to live in France and Spain and having a fondness for expensive wine. He did these movies to support his lifestyle and made no bones about it. :-)

Thanks for taking one for the team on this one: you saved me 90+ minutes of my life i would never get back. Big fan of Torso and Vice is a Locked Room, so I would have had to have watched this at some point. I still might, but it' reeeeal low on the list now. But if I do, when the two station wagons almost crash together trying to get out of the parking lot, I'll laugh and think of this video. :)

Miami Vice, pictures of missing children on milk cartons, the Guyana mass suicide, Firestarter featuring a preteen Drew Barrymore, the references to Jimmy Swaggart and a very, very long etcétera, make for a totally incomprehensible experience for younger generations. Christ I’m old! The sandwich artist and cobra with a bus pass lines place this episode on my top three instantly, without even breaking a sweat! However, this film doesn’t get a two thumbs up or a high five, for some of the characters just don’t have what it takes! This is worth all my gratitude, for I didn’t think it was possible even trying to make sense of this utter exercise in insanity!

For other Asian horror, lol, the works of Teruo Ishii would be excellent reviews for your channel tho I worry they might be too erotic for youtubes taste. "Horrors of Malformed Men" is one of the few horror films that legitimately gave me actual nightmares.

Another good Asian horror film is "the House Where Evil Dwells" from 1982. It's a weird cross between a family drama, a ghost story, and a slasher film. It has several bloody deaths by katana to add to your gore card.

This is the wonder of you. When you mentioned that we finally get some gore when budget Richard Moll burns the key through his hand, I realized I forgot this was a "horror" movie and we were gore hunting. I still loved every minute without the gore card because you just crack me up! The Himalayan cat agrees.

Hey now!! A Michigan strawberry 🍓?? . Im from Michigan and couple girls from the show me state 🤣. This film is a cinema delight that pushes the boundaries between a orange faygo that turned into 150 proof after being left out under certain conditions and really fine cheese. Never seen this movie, nor heard of it. But anything with Donald Pleasance in it, I am all for it, no matter how crappy it is. And of course Jeffery Dahmer. As usual, another great video! This one was basically a sort of lost film for awhile. You could find bootlegs of it on the trade circuit, but for years it was almost like it never existed otherwise. The second they announced the blu-ray, it was like "yeah. gotta preorder that..." It's a bizarre little film. :p
