Since the first time I ever saw this scene years ago, I have always, always, always, always adored the way Jeff instantly puts his arm around Annie and pulls her protectively to his side after the Human Being startles her and she yelps. I don't know if that's something they worked out deliberately when blocking and rehearsing the scene or if it was even written in the script that way from the beginning or if it's something Joel McHale would just instinctively, naturally do in real life so that's how he and Alison Brie played the scene. But, it is such a warm, sweet, precious, tiny gesture that melts my heart.

@@AMI-wy9jm Why? It can't possibly be the age thing anymore. By the time the movie comes out, Annie will be 35-36 and Jeff 51-52. Anyway, I never found their relationship creepy in the first place. Dysfunctional, yes, but then Jeff and Britta were worse.
