The scene shows the one thing Stephen imagines everyday. What we take for granted. We can pick up a pen that someone dropped a million times and its meaningless to us. but for Stephen, if only he can do it once more, he would give everything to feel that sensation again.

But he dedicated his life to understanding it, has deep knowledge of how it works and found mathematical proof of its existence that is more important than any photo. @@TurtleDonutStudios you're weird. It's like you have no empathy. You didn't even try to experience the emotions and difficulties they were facing. The writers say that the movie actually highlights the happy moments that the family had which motivated them in time of difficulties. If you didn't cry while watching a fictional movie that's fine. But their actual life was way worse than in the movie. The movie writers didn't want to add those scenes in the movie and wanted to give it a positive motivational vibe to it. Knowing about this would make anyone human atleast have tears in their eyes. I watched this movie three times and trust me the more I watch the movie, the more I cry during the sad scenes because I understand them better the more I watch it.

Through some ironic fate this movie ended up being somewhat romantic and it almost broke me because it was the least I wanted to know of at the moment. I cried when he tried to play boulé because, everyone could see how his sickness killed him, whilst my depression and alcoholism is hidden but it kills me nonthesame. There ought to be something very special about the bounderies conditions of the universe, and what can be more special that there is no bouderies. And there should be no bounderies to humans. We are all different. However bad life may seem, there is always something you can do, and succeed at.

From the moment I saw this my freshman year to my current senior year I have watched this many times. The first time I watched it it spoke to me on many levels, Stephen hawking became one of my biggest idols because of this movie and remains one till this very day. I truly felt lost when I heard of his death earlier this year, the world is not the same without him but his words will always remain with me. I have overcome significant odds because of this man, and he is one of the reasons I press on every day eager to see what life has for me.

I love the lighting behind the young woman at 1:02, it almost makes her look like an angel, especially with Stephen looking up to her as if she just decended to grant him this moment of freedom again. He didn't believe in God but he believed in having hope.

This scene crushed me man... you can feel his desire to get up and pick up the pen, but reality prevents him from doing so which then gives him another perspective on how to rely to that

One of if not the single smartest man of the past few generations. Took an idea that many wished they could describe and put it into terms simple enough for normal people to understand. What's even more, he was a great person, and despite his condition he kept a philosophy as powerful as this up until the day he tragically passed. Rest in peace Professor Hawking, rest in peace. You've done much great to the world, and this movies done much great to you.

Even if Stephen Hawking was a die hard Atheist I believe he was allowed into Heaven. He wanted to better humanity through knowledge instead of violence which is Humans normal way and I think this is what God has always wanted for Humanity. For us to find our own way and not 100% rely on him. R.I.P Stephen Hawking. One day humanity will finally make you proud.
