Who the hell is the "Thin Clergyman"? Well, he's kinda important considering he created Thomas and the whole Island of Sodor itself!

I would've loved if they had his son Christopher Awdry voice the Thin Clergyman in the CGI series. Simply because that would have been just perfect especially for the 75th anniversary.

2:59 Is there a line from an episode where he actually says that or is that an edit?

I love the Thin Clergyman in the RWS, as he was very much Awdry's way of "yeah, if the Island of Sodor was a real place, me and Teddy Boston would definitely be frequent visitors to it, and we'd totally be involved in finding Duke too, lol."

Awdry calling Teddy Boston fat and making a fool out of him is actually really funny. Awdry and Boston must of had real banter with each.

10:03 I don't think that's what that moment was meant to symbolise. Personally I see it as Brenner showing how Mattel, symbolised by Ace here, acts towards Awdry's legacy. We see more hints at this with other scenes with Ace. Besides how he keeps breaking railway regulations and such, he is also portrayed as a bad influence on Thomas, whose arc in the movie is learning that Ace is no good, just like how Mattel is. I'm pretty sure this was Brenner's way of saying that.

I saw big world big adventures the movie when it came out in the UK with my Dad. my Dad said later on the way home that he thought that Nia was Thomas's girl friend. I really liked how she talked with AWDRY in the little engine show

I'm now making that my official interpretation of Ace's whole character arc, as I'd love to imagine it as being Brenner's way of giving his bosses at Mattel the finger before jumping ship, lol!

Father Ted references are just the best. People who know it love it (like myself), and it introduces other T&F fans to a great comedy series

I'm still wondering what Wilbert & Percival were talking about in "The Great Race". Probably Percival was asking him to write about Luke's Story.

My goodness!! Wilbur Awdry was wonderful and always a great sport to allow himself to take part in the stories - and he was a very important part of the stories. But many forget that he was a Church of England ordained minister and priest. As was and is Christopher Awdry! His son. There's been many stories of the Thin Clergyman by the likes of WildNorWester, Victor Tanzig and some others. And the approach these - and some others - have put up have been reverential and just as appropriate. WildNorWester approach was to have Wilbur Awdry as a 12 year old and visiting Sodor with his Father, an ordained Priest who was keen on railways and leading to the first story of Edward's first outing from Edward's perspective. In 1923. Who told the story to Charlie Hatt, who was doing a documentary.. For Television. A very good way of doing so. And as example, the best of the lot. In certainly involving Prince William was a good touch as well. A lot of the memorabilia for all of this - was based in Towynn in Wales at The Tal'y'lin small railway in North Wales. I actually went there with my parents in the early 1970's - I'm no fan of railways but I do acknowledge the fact that the RWS Tales are one of the reasons why heritage railways continue to exist and in certain parts of the land - are highly popular and well visited. I actually went on a journey on a steam train at Windermere - a couple of years ago on a coaching holiday just after the worst of the restrictions on these, were lifted. After the pandemic was coming to an end! That was enjoyable! 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃 Wilbur Awdry's passing away was always very saddening. And in many ways it was well noted as well. But his son Christopher - carried on the tradition of stories. Truly a family affair and a legacy left behind by the Awdrys that won't be quickly or rapidly forgotten.

This is a man of iron will for children's entertainment... 😭😊👍 Never thought I would learn that Wilbert Awdry would be fat-shaming one of his own friends in Duke's book and the Arelsdale Engine's book... 😂 5:15: The fat Clergyman summons a steamroller from H311 and other stories. 😈🔥⛪😅😂⛧ And that's how George was born. Wouldn't Wilbert also get his ideas for his stories from real events? I can't believe I would notice The Thin Clergyman being a witness to some of the more ridiculous future CGI episodes and movies... I wonder what he could be thinking about them as he watches at what is happening in own eyes... The part in The BWBA Movie when Ace zooms by The Thin Clergyman on his bike had me and Thomas1Edward2Henry3 laughing so hard because it feels like a way of saying F U to the adult audience... lol😂😅🖕 "The Great little railway show" was fine but I didn't like Percy because he was at his absolute worst in the same way as in "Panicky Percy". The little green boi just didn't have the best episodes in the BWBA era...
