Joan Hickson's speech with its flawless pronunciation is a joy in itself, and makes these short stories even more of a pleasure. And of course it's a joy to listen to Hugh Fraser and David Suchet too.

Outstanding performance, the best, of some of most entertaining stories. Still, a misunderstanging remains for me: in "Christmas tragedy", how could it be possible the outdoor clothes of poor Gladys beeing in the same time on Gladys, visiting her friends in the town, a quarter of an hour distance, during the winter, and on poor Mary's dead body, impersonating murdered Gladys, on the floor of her hotel room ? Please explain me ! Thank you.

the doctor did the right thing. that other woman didn't give a - - - - about her own kin who were children yet. often there is no justice - some 'people' don't care a speck about anyone else -
