@cindr_2 жыл бұрын
It's because it's Dr Who day, I'd be skeptical that they'd bring back many of the monsters from S11 and 12 to be the main antagonist of episodes when the seasons were rated so poorly and Chibnall himself is leaving.
@coraldiamond19222 жыл бұрын
@@cindr_ I think it’s more to do with chibnall leaving than the reception of the monsters but then again more popular villains of classic who have been bought back. I certainly don’t think we will see a lot of monsters like the pting though. I can’t see there being any plot that could work for them to come back.

15:07 - Please tell me they made a big deal out of the fact the sonic screwdriver can now affect wood. The thing with King James - I thought it odd they were referencing faith, and then it hit me at the end: it was to mock it. Funny how the Doctor can be so respectful of any religion around the galaxy...the Church marines at the crash of the Byzantium, the Silence, and others...but faith on Earth in Christianity? No, no, that is to be treated with derision. Even as - probably unintentionally on the writers' part - it's shown that it gives men courage against evil. If James had voiced any other reason for standing firm against this monster, the Doctor would have congratulated him on his courage and offered his or her rescue as a hopeful answer to it. But since he voiced faith in God, oh, no, she has to sound smug and dismissive of his faith as she calls out that HER team's doing the rescue. Which is a pity; there's a lot that would be a good Doctor Who episode in this, too. It's campy and silly, but that's part and parcel of Doctor Who. But that, and the "there's more poewrful people than kings around here...there's us" coming from a peasant girl all contributes to diminishing it. Respect for alien cultures other than Earth's, but no respect for Earth's. Almost as if the people writing it don't like their own culture.

In what way are these monsters the biggest threats? Every episode its a new one and they're always defeated with no consequences or lesson learnt, or any new ideas explored. At least with Davies and Moffat episodes, the aliens had some effect on the story, like the slitheen returning in boom town to set up absorbing the time vortex in the finale, or the silence in series 6 returning in series 7. The midnight entity terrified the Doctor and showed the true nature of humans when they're scared, and the doctor's wife explored the depth of the relationship between the doctor and the TARDIS. And the Mummy on the Orient express expressing the 12th doctor's methods and attitude to solving a problem, whilst becoming friends again with Clara. And with any episode, when there was a message, they were hidden well. Like the Sontaran 2 parter in series 4 subtly relating to global warming, the slitheen to corrupt politicians, the beast below to a corrupt government, the zygon invasion to the pointlessness of war. But in Jodie's era, either none of these aspects apply to the monster, or some are applied so poorly. Like Orphan 55 with the dregs, they didn't have their own story, they were a literal effect of global warming. That's not necessarily a bad way of story telling, but the 4th wall speech at the end really showed how Chibnall can't weave a message into the story. And any experiences like the Demons of the Punjab which showed the effects of the partition, had no effect on any character. At least Rose learnt in fathers day she can't change the past, and accepted her fathers death which was brought up again in the finale and in series 2, whilst yaz's experience had no effect on her outside of that episode. The aliens of this era were literally just costumes, and nothing else. Whilst they look better than previous eras, they lack that essential story which links them to that wider story arc or message.

The monsters in this run has been some of the worst looking ever. Below SJA level, in terms of costumes and acting. Truly wretched. Like every single part of Chibnalls era of atrocity.

I think people didn't like season 11 and got stuck with the mentality of "Chris chibnall bad". Seasons 12 and 13 are really good, y'all just can't see it cause you're entering every episode with an over critical mindset. By putting RTD on a pedestal and demonizing Chris, you're setting yourself up for an extremely unenjoyable time of over analysis and disappointment. Just stick your head out of your ass and try to accept that every writer has their flaws as well as their strength, and just enjoy the episodes. Jeez.

No. It was better than nothing but the entire 13 series stank. I never felt the wish for the doctor and politically correct companions to be defeated . Why? Dr. Who was positive science fiction. That's what never took place in season 13.' So much missed potential. Actors did fantastic and liked them.' Stories were ok but missed continuity or something.

So the Kablam robots are one of the biggest monsters? Huh? I mean, Kablam is a corporate monster, but the way you let the story play out, the guy demanding fairer treatment of workers was painted the baddie, and then killed. Also, the thing _teleported onto the TARDIS_ . *While it was in vortex flight* For once, shields prevent anything from teleporting onto the TARDIS ordinarily, secondly, unless you justify it somehow, _any old teleport should not be able to time travel into the vortex_ . Very nerdy gripe, I know. But it's just lazy writing, on the other hand.

The TARDIS lets in friends. That's how the doctor and friends can enter the TARDIS no problem while enemies can't. The Kerblam man is considered a friend, and so he's let in.
