I was on a business trip in Oahu and ended up talking to this dude who was just chillin on the beach. Talked for a while, and then he offered to teach me to surf. I didn't have time at the moment, so he gave me his card. It was Dane Kealoha. Very nice guy, great surfer.

Dane was Da Man, we all custom painted our skateboards and surfboards to look like his 1981 Coke Classic Twinny, you know? The one he rode when the Judges ripped him off at Narrabeen, he owned it and the 3 fin Kook won? We were there Dude! Never forget when he walked past us, the board was so wide and he was huge, ripped an ready to DESTROY anything Dat would DARE MAN! Great post rvca, Beauty Mate.

Always admired Dane, I think he represented Hawaii well during his peak years. He shouldered a lot of pressure and expectations and handled it. JBG is always fascinating to observe. Love him or hate him, most guys think: "I wonder what it's like to be that guy."

actually according to Hawaiian Ahupuaa practices the ownership of the Alii and Konohiki extended out past most surf breaks

Dane Kealoha has done more for surfing that most people know.So what you're a spokes person for the Hawaiian people now ?
