The History of Tibet is a fascinating one.
The Tibetan Empire was founded in the early medieval era, and quickly rose to become a pan-Asian Empire that engaged extensively with the Indian subcontinent, controlled valuable overland Silk Road routes, and contended with China.
This is the story of the Rise of the Tibetan Empire -- from the founding of the empire to the rumblings of a golden age.
I hope you enjoy!

As a Tibetan scholar, I appreciate this well-made video on the history of the Tibetan empire! ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཆེ། I would also greatly appreciate a video on the history of the Pala empire in Northeast India, which is deeply connected to the history of Tibet and Vajrayana Tantric Buddhism. As like Fake Jesus the fake buddha created by White man born in 563 bc spoke pali, ate pig, who did not beleieve in soul, was born in lumbini kapilavastu nepal- to parents mayadevi/ shuddhodana , did not exist. Fake history is weapon of white invaders even they hijack all world history to hide there crime over humanity and with fraud history humans blame over each other and quarrel . the REAL AND ORIGINAL Buddha was born in 1900 BC-- and NOT born the time wikipedia states. THIS IS THE MAHARISHI WHOM THE ENTIRE FAR EAST WORSHIPS. The white christian invader has placed buddha at 563 BC. this buddha NO 2 ( A FOLLOWER ) is responsible for shunning vedas and sanskrit the white christian invader has called lord Mahavira as the founder of jainism. This is absolutely wrong. Emperor Rishabha ( Adinath ) , the father of Chakravatri Bharata is the founder of Jainism in 8190 BC, and is the first Thirthankara. The white historian has put Mahavira as a contemporary of Buddha at 599 BC. This is wrong . First of all Mahavira was just a reformer. He was the 24th Thirtankara . Mahavira was born in 4500 BC. emperor ashoka born in 304 BC never existed. WHY WAS THE GREAT LIBRARY OF ALEXANDRIA BURNT? TO SINK APOLLONIUS OF TYANA -- A KERALA SAGE WHO WAS BEING WORSHIPED AS GOD.. HE WAS A SPIRITUAL ANCHOR FOR ROMANS WHO WENT THROUGH TEN DESPOT ROMAN EMPERORS IN HIS LIFETIME THE COLOSSEUM OF ROME ( CONSTRUCTED ON TOP OF A DRIED UP LAKE ) WAS NOT MADE FOR BLOODSPORT. IT WAS MADE FOR HEARING THE SPEECHES OF APOLLONIUS OF TYANA THE REAL BUDDHA BORN IN 1900 BC , WHO SPOKE SANSKRIT BELIEVED IN THE SOUL AND VEDAS.. HE WAS A VEGAN THE FAKE BUDDHA BORN IN 563 BC , WHO SPOKE PALI, DID NOT BELIEVE IN THE SOUL.. HE ATE PIG. HIS LAST MEAL WAS PIG GIBLETS.. INDIANS REJECTED HIM.. ROTHSCHILDs AGENT BR AMBEDKAR PROPAGATED THIS FELLOW. THE REAL BUDDHA ( WHO BELIEVED IN VEDAS ) HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MODERN BUDDHISM ( OF BUDDHA BORN IN 563 BC WHO ATE PIG AND DID NOT BELIEVE IN SOUL ) WE SEE TODAY.. I would recommend digging in to the history of the Bön and the four main schools of Tibetan Buddhism as they developed and interacted with each other. The Tibetians decided that they did not want the expense of having to maintain a military so they made a deal with the Mongols that the Mongol army would defend Tibet in the event of an attack. They paid the Mongols and agreed to send a teacher to teach Buddhism. This is the where the office of the Dali Lama came from later it became the political leader of both nations.

Later Narendra Dev with help of tibetan did overthrow Bishnu Gupta and became 7th Licchivi king of kathmandu in 640 A.D. King Narendra Dev brought Macchindranath from Kamrup, Assam. As narrater per say than nepal/ktm valley become vessel state, is questionable? Allowing tibetan to acess India and nepali businessmen to Lhasha likewise as per treaty. However the Narrator forget to explain in later year When Tibetan goverment not letting Nepali businessmen free access to tibet cause 2 wars between newly formed Nepal(by Shah Dynasty) and Tibet. Tibet was beaten badly and seek help from China to take back lhasha where Gurkhas were camped. Chinese army pushed back Nepal to tatopani and kuti. And when it happened 2nd time(1855-1856) it is known fact tibetan goverment asked help with than Viceroy of British india(letter is in display in london mueseum) and how he didnt help them cuz gurkhas were recruited heavily in British army. That is when 2nd time Qing Dynasty came in help for Tibet only if they come under Qing dyasty rule which was accepted, and gurkhas were defeated heavily. it was financial disaster for Janga Bahadur, and he taxed heavily on nepali ppl. you can still hear a some folk songs where they say hide your food and valuables or else jungeys militia will come and snatch from you. Using that treaty between Qing dynasty and Tibetan goverment, thus how china claims Tibet as its territory?????? questionable and debatable.

I'm able to see a lot of similarities in the attire worn by these Tibetans, pre-Islamic central Asians(Sogdians, GokTurks, Hephthalites), eastern Sasanians and the Kushans of northern India. As usual great video ! Love your detailed research on south Asian history.

Kushans had a strong foothold in western tibetan regions, especially around areas surrounding present day Ladakh. As a Tibetan, I always love learning more about South Asian and Central Asian history especially since it's so untold.

@Jin Pin Just take a look at Ladakh and western Tibetan regions, artifacts from the Bronze Age left by the Kushans are still found all over the region today, the Kushans themselves migrated from Central Asia near tibet to the Indian Subcontinent

Why is the depiction of Tibet only what we know as “Tibetan Autonomous Region” of China? What about the Tibetan parts of Sichuan Province, khom, Qinghai, Southern Tibet that’s currently in India, let alone all other Tibetan kingdoms grabbed by the British and now hogged up by India?

Wow, a new you! I love your new artistic style plus map's new details. Did you illustrate everything, from the plants to the figures/people? I love discovering new historical geographies. I had no idea who the Azha were. At first I thought this was another term for Amdo, but after digging into it myself, I was surprised to find records of the Tuyuhun, who spoke a language we have yet to classify though it is suggested to be related to Mongolic. On the note of Amdo, it would have been cool if you talked about the different regions of Tibet, and how the Tibetan Empire that we know it is the marriage of U and Tsang, while Amdo, the many minor kingdoms of Kham, and Ladakh are linguistically and culturally quite distinct, and historically politically autonomous. Also, I did not know about that historical connection between Nepal and Tibet. Even though they are neighbours, I thought there was more of a buffer/less fluidity between the two areas. Thanks for your amazing work and research yet again!

Amdo and Ladakh dialect along with Ngari Purang dialects are the closest in terms of relation and understanding, they are also the most archaic dialects. Amdo is very complex, the original inhabitants were scynthians, tocharians, sakha (kushan) and iranic persian tribes of groups, same with Ngari and western regions of Tibet, they were all originally inhabited by dards of "aryan" groups, who you will still see in Ladakh today, they are one of the oldest people in the region.
