hey man if i buy the dlc right now can i jump right into it or do i need to progress the main game first? i had the game beat before but i had mods installed and now my save is corrupted and i have to start a new one and i dont have a problem re doing the main game but if i could skip it and jump right into the dlc map i would like that more honestly

You don’t need to complete the main game, volcalidus is it’s completely own thing.

You don't need to. In the DLC you start completely "new game" since you can't even bring anything with you there (no tools, money, vehicles...). The beginnings there are almost the same as in the main game, some mechanics are more complex, some are easier.

Started replaying Hydroneer after the latest update. Base Hydroneer is fun with quite a few tedious or headache inducing moments. Volcalidus just seems like Hydroneer with extra steps that are extra tedious and require a lot of forward planning and precision. All the craneing stuff around, RNG buffs etc etc, some of the design decision are weird, like the ore towers.

What's the difference between the regular harvester and heavy harvester?

heavy harvester is bigger produce's its own water. not sure about the whole tier thing for the harvester something i didnt pay attention to.

don't you need to drill T2 ice to get corestone, which is needed to build the T3 shop?

Technically you can get corestone (and cloutium) even in Dawn Rest, which is T1 only digsite (same as Ember Cradle). Quite rarely and only through hand-digging it seems. Unlike hand-digging, drills never produced it for me even when drilling from the bottom-most dirt.

drills produce core stone and clutium if fired straight into a pan thats in lava.. but cloutium ur drill has to be mounted 2 blocks below the surface and corestone is t2 so the only way to get it is using the pan.

its not about the money for the ores thats about making enough ore to make things for people. and also u need higher quantities of stuff for more drills and so on. Its a sort balance of getting enough drills to keep you going while making money for other things to make token for.. its long winded
