I own both the steam deck and the air pro and I always pick the air pro due to it's size and screen. New games still run really well with decent battery life at the right settings. This thing absolutely shines with older titles though. 360/PS3 era games run perfectly at a low tdp.

My wife owns a steam deck and I love using that thing. We often trade playing with the deck and the switch oled but I want this device so bad. I really love the look and what reviewers say about the ergonomics of it.

I'm gonna wait for the Aya Neo Air Plus, slightly lower specs but only $299. For that price you'd get pretty good Wii u and Switch emulation, games like rocketleague and fall guys will run easily at 30+ fps.

I'm planning to do the same, but there are no news about the Air Plus since a long time. That confuses me. My plan is to buy a device for around 300-400$ in maybe five month and I am only interested in emulation. Who knows what will be the best device then. Do you think it will be the Air Plus?

this doesn't look bad but the Steam Deck is cheaper. Honestly if both were sold at the same price entry, I would go for this, but now I used my Steam Deck to play couple games I'm in love with the controls they put on the device, that reason alone is enough for me to never want to go with anything else even if those devices are more powerful, I don't know who's idea was to put those touch pads on the Steam Deck but damn it they deserve a huge raise!

@@pkpkpkok I agree with that, but after holding a steam deck and play few games on it, I will only buy other handheld devices if they have the same comfortable way to hold them :). For me comfort is the most important thing :D while gaming :D

I have both and they’re both comfortable but the Aya Neo Air is far easier to slip in a pocket. The biggest thing is getting the tdp right for what you are playing. Some of the emulators for older systems only need 5w tdp which means the battery life is 2-3 hours, other games need higher, the pro can go to 18w and once you’ve set that quite a few aaa games are playable, though battery is just over an hour. The 18w setting isn’t easy to get to, though, and requires going in to the settings section of the Aya space software which isn’t intuitive, though once you’ve set it once it’s on your list and you can quickly choose it, it makes a huge difference even over 15w. That said, the Deck is still more powerful, though it’s a bigger form factor so it depends on what your use case is. This is great for things like GameCube, Xbox/360 and PS2/3 games, though and can download gamepass games to play rather than just streaming them.

@@PaulByron4d So your comment got me interested and decided to look it up and then saw the price "Again" and ewwwwww it cost twice as much as the SD does. No thanks!. Price is very important here I mean if I'm going to spend around $1000 for gaming then I will just get me a gaming laptop or prebuilt desktop that have much more power. Not hating or anything, I like to play gaming but not crazy enough to spend around 1k for a device that will be outdated in 1-2 years from now.

@@zackdreak1870 really depends where you buy from. The standard air can be got for £400/$400 if you look around, the pro for around 650

4:22 try having it at handheld mode and higher the tdp, that'll give you better performance for switch emulation

Unfortunately this device is more available than the steamdeck due to valve on selling the steam deck in less countries than ayaneo

I’m in bEtwEEn with this handhelD, I like it but not? Brought this and steam deck. Honesty I would not buy it the air pro. Maybe I’m not tech savvy enough with pc gaming. Im more console gamer. I’m new to this. It made the mouse kept on going on and off. It was a big mistake. It cost too much compared to the steam deck. Maybe just me. It kept not show keyboard then my air pro would get too hot. Then froze up no joke. Installing window. I had struggle with flip rotation where I rest factory mode but in the process it erase my games. Just struggle ufff.
