"The Titanic Took 5 More" - Piers Morgan's Emotional Interview With Former Titan Passenger

Piers Morgan Uncensored

Жыл бұрын

Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by the friend of the explorers aboard the Titan submersible Fred Hagen as he and Piers Morgan react to the news conference set up which announced that the debris found earlier today confirms the missing sub imploded, leaving all five onboard dead.
Fred gives his emotional reaction to the passing of two of his close friends who were onboard and explains that they were courageous and heroic for the work they did in deep sea exploration. Fred also finds some solace in the fact that their passing was instantaneous and not a drawn-out suffering.

The Titanic didn’t take 5 more lives the Titanic was minding it’s own business. Ocean gate took 5 lives. I cannot believe people were allowed to pay for an experimental trip in a vessel that had not been approved for this type of journey. I feel for the families. My heart breaks for the 19 year old that didn’t want to go. Unbelievable sad. Condolences.

You know Piers will censor my comment. The crew wanted to abort the dive, it wasn't milliseconds, they all knew that if they weren't pulled out, they'd be toast. So they'd hear the crush noises and then at 4000 long tons per square meter, the carbon fiber tube just snapped like a plastic pipe. But they knew the vessel had safety issues and were dodging stress tests, just like boiler tests. They knew it was a problem but why did they do it? Crazy.

So was the Titanic. Pride took the Titanic down. The designer's first mistake was to send out a ship that wasn't complete. Not enough lifeboats. Second was insisting on the high speed of the ship to a captain that was too cowardly to stand up to it, putting the lives of the passengers at risk and the dumbest thing was testing God. No difference between the Titanic and the submersible.

Likewise I love the way that you "go after" the people that you know are so far out of reality and you don't back down regardless of their feedback. . ( We all know who they are). You say the things that we all think and don't dare to say or don't have the platform to do so. I agree that your handling of this tragedy was well done. Most live a life of quiet desperation? There is also a fine line between courage and bravado. The flaws of this design are well known in the engineering community. I have followed this story throughout the week and hoped like everyone there would be a positive outcome. I felt incredibly sad at what happened, but it is a small comfort that they did not spend hours and hours in a tight space waiting for the oxygen to run out, that is a tough one to think about. At least, they would not have suffered in the split second it took to claim their lives. I feel especially sad for the young son who was so close to his dad but had reservations. I actually wish I could be a little bit more adventurous in my life but I am not, however, I take my hat off to people that try something different and are truly adventurous. I personally think this should be the end of anyone visiting the Titanic. Leave it be! Sincere condolences to the families and all their friends and colleagues.

He had a bad feeling about it, he begged not to go, but being forced to ' please' his father and be a ' son' to be proud of, an essential eastern known cultural expectation that we have in our family too, meant he had to put his father's pleasure before his anxiety in going.

James Cameron was interviewed today on this tragedy. He explained many aspects that interviewers have not addressed ie the material used in the construction. Cameron is an expert on these vehicles, their construction and proper use. Stockton decided that he knew better than all the experts, ignored their warnings ( even from his own people) that have made these submersibles and have made numerous dives to the Titanic without loss of life. Sadly, it was a disaster waiting to happen.
@CheloPerales

Paul-Henri Nargeolet, the French deep sea explorer and Titanic expert was known as "Mr. Titanic" because of his expertise. He died. Out of respect for him alone, Cameron should be silent today. At least today. He talks about being arrogant, not learning the lesson of the Titanic. Let's think of the January 1988 Space Shuttle Challenger. Whose fault was then? We are not God. Cameron is responding as if sitting on a higher infallible chair, "- I told you so". Geesh. Let's hope that never ever anything tragic happens to him.

Piers has had really amazing guests. He’s been very emotionally sensitive when asking them questions, and being aware of their distress. So much praise for Piers 🙌
