This album is not what I expected AT ALL. She’s never been this real with us…or angry. my takeaway is that she was miserably sad with Joe towards the end, and Matty came along and saved her from that sadness by love bombing her and she was ready to let her reputation go down for him and then HE F’ING GHOSTED HER, and she’s big mad and confused why he played her like that. And this album is essentially a reality check for her fans that we actually have no idea what’s going on in her life and she honestly does not give a f about our opinions on her love life. The album is also really funny, esp when she breaks the 4th wall and calls us out. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. We are getting edgy and raw Taylor but in a real sense, not like the marketable curated edginess of Rep (which is a love album disguised as a revenge album). The Smallest Man is the meanest song she’s ever written and I love that she’s told us that matty had a small d. LMAO TAYLOR. All the speculating about her love life and we clearly know nothing.

The best thing I saw about this album was that TTPD and eternal sunshine are albums about the same thing (ending a long term relationship and jumping into a mess) but approached differently (Ariana focused on the long term relationship, Taylor focused on the mess) and suffer from opposite problems (Taylor showed us the ugliest, messiest, almost too-honest version of herself and desperately needed an editor, while Ariana's album felt removed emotionally and safe, almost too edited).
