So much lore, whatever you are doing Blizzard keep it up.

I love it how Gul'dan came scampering back to the legion because he was afraid of us players.

Am I the only one who thinks Gul'dan and Kil'jaeden sound like an old married couple trying to decide whether they need a divorce? KJ: "Baby, come on, we can make this work." Gul'dan: "NO! I DON'T NEED NO DEMON LORD! I'M A STRONG INDEPENDENT WARLOCK!" Or... KJ: "Fine, go on then! Leave, like you always do! That's just COMPLETELY LIKE YOU!" Gul'dan: "Well, maybe I'd stay if you DIDN'T TREAT ME LIKE A COMPLETE TOOL! You use me and then you just THROW ME AWAY!" KJ: "You cheated me before!" Gul'dan: "THAT WASN'T ME!"

Great contrast to what normally happens in WoW. --Villain gains great seemingly invincible power, and stands alone. --Is promptly defeated by those who use the power of friendship. Gul'dan might be the first villain in history to actually do something that makes sense for his own survival lol

Yes! Wasn't sure this would drop today since they also released Harbingers: Illidan, but it did. Blizz, *this* has been the way you release an expansion. Tons of stories, new lore, books, and a prepatch that reminds me of the old Scourge invasion back in the day. Well done.

"It is the beginning of Azeroth's end..." what a terrifying voice. Such a powerful character, Kil'jaeden.

Anyone had a mini nerdgasm when they first saw this?

I love how maiev just landed and khadgar blinked. You know, because when blink was first introduced it was Maiev's ability. Too bad we didn't get to choose to be a warden or a demon hunter, that would've been absolutely amazing. I feel this audio series really added to Gul'dans character, making it less cheap (as in, bringing back a dead villain) to making him have his own personality, with the constant ''That wasn't me''.

Ever since the announcement of Legion, I've been speculating how the alternate Gul'dan will react once he learns there was another Gul'dan and what happened to him. Now we know why the guardians of the tomb killed the original Gul'dan. He wanted to use that power for his own needs, while Kil'jaeden wanted him to open the portal. This Gul'dan tried to do the same, but was reminded how we thwarted his plans on Draenor. He simply needs the Legion. That was a great prelude to Legion.

I love the 4th wall breaking part around 12:00, he's talking about uuuuus! I am coming for you Gul'dan!

Wow. That section with Gul'dan making his decision in the face of the tireless bravery of heroes standing together--that score and those words gave me chills. Absolutely well done, Blizz.

I am loving so much how they are incorporating the heroes so well. They have been mentioned so much now in this and in Illidan's book. I just love how the character we make are finally starting to become part of the Lore.

This is the old Blizzard storytelling we all love. Referencing the players was great.

I love these. Specifically, i love how this story respects the lore decisions that have been made, it doesn't try to hide all the time travel and alternate universe implications. It shines with confidence and gives me hope that you know where you're going with the story and aren't just making things up with no regard to the consequences. It also toys with other perspectives of the war, which is cool. It's really interesting to see Gul'dan remark all the victories against the Burning Legion and consider if maybe they're on the losing side. The thought process Gul'dan has when he considers going solo really speaks to his character, and Kil'jaedens respons when he tries to persuade him to obey really shows of his manipulative and deceiving nature. Great job.

Man what an episode, Kil'Jaeden schooled Gul'dan like a true boss. And that 2v1 fight and the OST during the opening of the portal. This whole story has been 10/10 easily.

I have to admit, you did brilliantly with this, Blizzard. Really sets up the expansion well, and the voice acting is even better than I expected (I looked the chap up, he's a real veteran!) and the music and effects were perfect. Thank you!

I love how since the complaints of loneliness in Warlord's, that Blizz' have incorporated a sense of unity even into their stories now. I really really do love it. :')

I know blizzard has been doing short pre-expansion stories like these for a while, but these audio dramas are so much more interesting then simply reading them, I hope you all do more in the future.

For a moment I was really hoping for a mini Gul'dan redemption story.

That ending gave me goosebumps of what happened in warcraft III reign of chaos were you just see Medivh flying to all the leaders trying to get them to move to Kalimdor and unite against the Legion.

I like Gul'dans voice in this a lot more than the one in the game. I never took him to be such a deep voiced character, especially when you consider how feeble his physique and bodily well being always was.

that last part when the background music was getting louder, I GOT ALL PUMPED UP, such an AMAZING WORK!

For those that dont know who Kiljaedan is : 1.He is an Eredar Lord of Argus along side Archimonde and Velen.He later joined the Burning Legion with Archimonde while Velen fled.For his service,he was gifted with vast amounts of cosmic power by Sargeras.Even on Argus he was considered the most powerful and intelligent of all the Eredar(who as a race were known to be extremely intelligent). 2.He is one of the oldest villians in all of Warcraft,having appeared all the way back in Warcraft 2,along with Sargeras.However after all these years he has never truly suffered any heavy defeats mainly because unlike Archimonde,Kilj is a manipulator and likes to stay in the shadows and let his minions do the dirty work for him,hence earning his nickname the Deciever. 3.Corrupting the Orcs and creating the Fel Horde was his idea;It was he who famously created the Lich King;It was he who mentored Guldan in the art of Fel magic;He recruited Illidan and caused the events of Warcraft 3:The Frozen Throne;He was the one that corrupted Kaelthas.He almost defeated the Heroes of Azeroth at the Sunwell,but Anveena the very essence of the Sunwell turned against him and helped banish him from the world. Kiljaedan is one of the most powerful beings in all of Warcraft.His scheming and manipulative nature,combined with his tremendous power, makes him one of the best villians Warcraft has ever produced.

I really like how patient and tolerant is Kil'jaeden, befitting the master schemer and arch-manipulator he is often portrayed as. After all the sass Gul'dan gave him, it is amazing that the eredar is willing to disregard that and hold up his end of the deal, all because he sees Gul'dan's potential as an officer in the BL. This is also really important, because it reinforces that Kil'jaeden greatly prefers to recruit people and civilizations into the BL to destroying them (the earlier parts also implied this with him not allowing Gul'dan to kill Khadgar and Maiev at first) and this is no empty promise on his part, he really does recruit people into the BL. It also makes joining the BL a realistic alternative, instead of a monumentally stupid and suicidal decision.

Kil'jaeden is realy a Deceiver look how he played guldan to give his power back

Who ever does the voice of Kil'jaeden is amazing, Steven Pacey maybe? Blizzard should keep that actor for the in game voice of Kil'jaeden.

I cheered when I heard that Gul'dan was afraid of our persistence! Of our tenacity! I literally yelled!

I feel the magic coming back with this expansion. The enormous class changes, the harbinger series, these audiobooks. I'm just so excited to see Blizzard actually putting some soul back into their game. You can really feel the love and the effort they're pouring into this expansion. Haven't been this excited for an expansion since BC/Wrath days.

I've waited all day for this "episode"... and was rewarded with an amazing plot twist... awesome as usual Blizzard.

Small plot hole right there, Gul'dan could have killed Maiev and Khadgar AND THEN open the way for the Legion. Even if Gul'dan had an epiphany he still hated Khadgar. But I guess if Khadgar was not his biggest threat in this world killing him or not would make no difference. EDIT: come to think about it, he said he wanted to make Khadgar suffer, not only kill him, so bringing about the Legion and Khadgar's failure before his eyes would have done the trick.

This series of audio dramas was amazing. All it did was made me want one for the War of the Ancients and Rise of The Horde! :D

I love how Kil'Jaden showed how Gul'dan had 0 chance against Azeroth alone. No matter how strong Gul'dan was. And that was all he needed to make Gul'dan his puppet again.

This was epic! It took me back to my childhood listening to all sorts of spoken book dramas on BBC radio. And I have to say, this is how I always imagined Khadgar would sound. In fact, I was quite shocked when I heard WoD Khadgar with an American accent, as I thought people from Lordaeron would sound English like their neighbours the Gilneans, like Dalaran would be some sort of Oxbridge. Oh well.
