Joan Rivers should have replaced Johnny when he retired but he was so envious of the high ratings she got when she guest hosted his show...higher than when he was on. She will always be the Queen of comedy to me!!👑👑💙💙 And let's give some love to the Weather Girls!! Whst voices!!

The belief of network executives was that music made people tune out in droves, so they moved it to the last segment when viewers were dozing off.

How could they not have had her replace Johnny who stayed too long anyway? He was just a shell of the way he was the first 10 or so years of hosting The Tonight Show. Johnny never had a show this funny and he stooped to giggling at his guests' unfunny remarks the last few years. Joan had to like guests like The Hulk and Charles because she didn't have to say or do anything.
