The quintessential Tony Romo Drive vs the Rams September 2007.
One of my favorite Memories from this era at the stadium. Things are breaking down around him and Romo makes a play, changes momentum and then wins the game off of it.
I remember this like it was yesterday.

One of my favorite plays of the Romo era! I'm truly saddened that he's probably seen his last days in Dallas. This guy, for all the slings and arrows thrown at him, just kept getting up and putting his best on the field. For an undrafted free agent, Romo should go into the Hall of Fame regardless of him getting a ring or not. He personified class, leadership and selfless sacrifice for the prize, all without the hype and bluster of most so-called "stars' of the league! Godspeed, Tony! GO COWBOYS!!!!

i had taken a hiatus from footbal after aikman, emmett and irvin were gone. i think it was 4 - 5 yrs i stopped watching. I grew up with those 3 and it just wasnt the same... anyways, met up with an old friend and he was a Cowboys fan, talked me into trying out fantasy football and he wanted to go watch the 2nd? preseason game, i cant remember. But ill never forget thinking Drew Bledsoe was our qb? wtf? I actually liked Bledsoe, the guy had taken a beating through his career, couldnt help but love the guy for his toughness. Which is sad I thought this because it was like 5 mins later and Bledsoe got hurt, i dont remember the specifics but I just remember fuuuuck...I was just getting into watching the new Cowboys team and the only player that I knew and liked...I just witnessed his career ending hit....smh. Thinking I may not ever get back into watch my boys play again, Comes Romo, and like i said i dont remember the specifics but he came onto the field, took over for Blesdsoe and...shit i cant remember if they scored or not. But I do remember that drive changed everything for me. Romo just had this energy that he brought with him and on the field. And I watched the rest of the game until he was taken out (Bledsoe was done and Romo had solidified as starting QB for the Cowboys after a couple drives. I watch for the rest of Romos career until he got nailed in the back by a defender in a preseason game, and that ended him....freaking irony.

@@dennisavent1686 possibly....but I'll say this....Romo never would've made that bonehead of a play with time running out in the playoffs against the 49ers like Dak did. Like wtf was that. what a dork. I've seen a lot of bonehead plays in the nfl, but my god, what qb decides to run the ball with no time outs in the middle of the field with second left on the clock during a playoff game you should've been able to easily win. Then Dak tried blaming the official. I'm sorry, but that is just a ridiculously lame and braindead decision. But hey, who knows, possibly he'll learn by that mistake and get it right in the 22-23 season. Let's hope! Go Cowboys!

2007 will forever haunt me as "what-could-have been." Everything was in line for them to at least represent the NFC in the Super Bowl: They were 13-3 and had home field advantage in the NFC (which means automatic trip to the Super Bowl back then, at least in the NFC) and had an NFC record 13 Pro Bowlers, and their first playoff opponent was a team they swept in the regular season. They ended up losing to the eventual champs Giants on a last-second Romo interception :(

@@mikelin2703 Thats's not entirely accurate. People forget we had the lead and the ball coming into 2 min marl and crayton dropped a perfect ball that would've converted the 3rd down and i believe we would've been close to fg range and ability to bleed the clock down. Romo should have never been in a position to have to come back and win the game as we dominated it the whole way.

I started watching the Cowboys in '06 when I was still in middle school. Romo had just taken over for Bledsoe and the Cowboys were the talk of the league because of that mid-season shift at QB. For all of the slander and criticism Romo took for being the starting QB of the world's most famous football team, no one can deny that had some incredible moments to his name, this being one of them.

Love me some Tony Romo. Under rated for sure. Not gonna be in the HOF. But has earned it. I blame Jerry for putting such crap teams around him for so many seasons. There were 3 straight years of 8-8. Those were 5 win teams. Romo got them to 8. Maybe 3 seasons total here and there that Romo had a team capable of going deep in the playoffs. He certainly traded his health for knowledge of the game. He's said it himself, when he finally started figuring it out and was able to really read defenses is when his body started breaking down. In the early days, he was physically gifted and was out there playing around and just having a good time. When the injuries started piling up is when the game started slowing down for him.

Chad Pugh the early Garrett seasons 11 and 12 were rebuilding years....they never would admit it but it what it was. Romo took the blame for everything even though he was fantastic in 2011 minus a couple of bad plays vs Detroit and the Jets...the 06 through 09 teams were good enough to win the super bowl. The organization in various let down the team after parcells left. It’s a bummer.

It took Jerry not winning a championship with Romo to realize he wasn't a good GM. He shouldve realized that when Parcells had to come in and turn the entire ship around

Bill Parcells to Babe Laufenberg in the summer of 07...."Once I am gone you will never know I was there" Jerry didn't like being tense in his own office...he didn't like being held accountable for the product on the field by someone on his own side.

Timmy Johnson yeah this organizations fear of accountability is disgusting. Even during this past season with JG saying he didn’t tell Tavon to fair catch the ball in the Vikings game. Hopefully McCarthy can Instill accountability thru every level of the organization.

Man wouldn't it have been amazing if he went right and ran for a TD. Amazing play nonetheless.
