Romo never played against such a weak schedule. 93/114/3 win/loss/tie combined record of Cowboy opponents in Dak's rookie year. That was with the Steelers and Packers winning out their last 6 games too. That means that 117 QBs didn't lose the same teams Dak "beat" but they did it without the top running game in football. Only the Giants had a winning record when the played the Cowboys that year and they swept the Cowboys. The Steelers were at .500 and got beat with a clutch handoff to Ezekiel Elliott. Strength of Schedule was completely ignored because of Dak's race and Steven Jone's jealousy of Tony Romo, the son Jerry always wanted.

Come on Mike don’t be a fanboy be a Cowboys fan. We all need to support whoever is the quarterback of our team today otherwise none of you are real Cowboys fans. This is from someone that has been a Cowboys fan since the 1960s. Don Meredith was my favorite QB and the first Cowboys game l attended was a 1968 playoff loss. I remember that people hated Roger Staubach. After Meredith retired they wanted Craig Morton. Cowboys fans hated Captain America at first and we’re talking about one of the greatest Cowboys of all time. Kind of ironic isn’t it? Of course after he won the Super Bowl he was the hero that everybody always supported.

@james harm Romo was taught how to play by Bill Parcells and Dak was taught how to play by Jason Garrett and Kellen Moore.

@james harm Wait a second, you DON'T get taught how to play once you enter the NFL? Are you sure? Jared Goff had to be taught how to play under Sean McVay because Jeff FIsher didn't do anything for a young QB in Goff. Coaching matters in the NFL, don't know if you knew that or not. I feel like Romo learned faster because he had a HOF coach teaching him. I guarantee if Romo was brand new in the NFL with Garrett and Kellen Moore coaching him he wouldn't even be close to progressing like he did with Parcells. I truly believe that. Dak needs better coaching so he can be taught properly how to anticipate the rush and improve his pocket awareness. He doesn't trust his eyes when he should just sling it when he sees the receiver coming out of his route. He's still young though so I'm not saying he is amazing right now for the Cowboys.

@james harm That's interesting you mention Garrett playing versus Parcells. Parcells was a very knowledgeable coach that understood the game very well. Romo was undrafted for a reason I would believe. Romo watching from the sidelines is a good point because he got to see what Drew Bledsoe was doing I believe when Romo was on the bench. Hopefully Dak can get a better QB Coach to teach him more about his flaws because last night I was watching Romo clips of his comebacks and Dak really needs to study his film. Romo would throw guys open or he would throw it right as the receiver would come out of his route so the ball would be there right on the money. Romo was a gunslinger and Dak needs to adapt his skills more towards that.

@james harm I agree with a lot of what you wrote. Dak and the offensive line need to be consistent. Back in 2016 the whole offensive line was healthy and their offense was one of the best in the league. Last year and this year the offensive line has not been healthy and they suck in the red zone.

@james harm Even when they do run Zeke, he is running behind some backups. With the offensive line healthy they are going to be scoring a lot of TDs like in 2016.

Or, he's disliked for his inability to lead a team to the Superbowl, or even past the divisional round of the playoffs...
