While Nilou's single target dmg is lower compared to a lot of the others on the list, Nilou paired with Nahida can take care of any single target abyss chamber with relative ease, and if you have Yelan, better. The previous abyss rotation, I used her with Sword of Narsizenkruz to fight icewind suite and she can clear the chamber in around 60s, no 5* constellations. Even before, in version 3.x abyss, I used her to fight Wenut (I have a video of that). Just want to put this here in case anyone want to pull for her, but misinterpreted what TGS said, and thinking that she's pretty bad at single target abyss. She's not bad, weaker in single target compared to the other options, but not bad.

Great video, I like the way you explain your view on each character in the context of f2p investment, and also how you clearly defined what you mean by that in the first place. It helps alleviate some of the ambiguity that tends to surround f2p meta discussions. I was honestly surprised when you brought up Nilou since I went in the video expecting 'traditional' dps characters, but I actually kinda agree with your take that her whole teams' dmg is so intrinsically tied to her kit, which no one else can emulate, that she might as well be the main dps On an unrelated note, the more videos from you I watch and the more team dps graphics I see, the more I realize how close to one another so many teams are. As an example, before Clorinde came out, I had never seen a Keqing team dps calc (despite playing her a lot), and because there isn't a lot of discussion around her and all the attention goes to the shiny new characters, I kinda assumed she wasn't that strong - and that her similar clear times to 'stronger' characters/teams on my account were due to practical gameplay more than anything else. But then when Clorinde came out and had to be compared to other electro carries, I finally got to learn about her dps on aggravate and quickbloom and let me tell you that I was surprised by how good she is - my clear times suddenly made a lot more sense lol, and it's only one example out of many

Harbinger of dawn with furina on the team sounds like a horrible idea. Esp with a non team wide healer like Kuki.

Neuvilette truly belongs up there - I came back to Genshin just before Fontaine after a longer pause and pulling Neuvilette was a total gamechanger. He helped me get 36 stars (I only played pretty casual before), my clears were much faster in general, i struggled less against annoying enemies and this in turn contributed to me getting more into the game, learning more strategy and getting better. Neuvilette kicked of this circle of improvement and Genshin has been more fun than ever - The absolutely great Fontaine story, more cool characters and so on did also add to my fun. Anyways, I saved my primos for his C1 and even got his Signature - I usually don't go for constellations or weapons, but with Neuvilette I just felt like i simply had to after he gave me such a boost and getting me hooked on the game again :)

All the ppl coping and seething that Nilou is finally being recognized as the powerhouse she is makes me smile. She is imo, the most f2p unit in the game after Neuv, but im happy with her placement as the TGS is quite reputable and I can get why he would place Alre and Alhaitham over her. Even then, being place right under the "Big 3" is the proper respect. I have facerolled every single abyss since i got her, and whenever Im having trouble with a floor, replacing it with my Nilou team ALWAYS, yields a better time. With investment nowadays, shes a top tier unit that is just being slept on because people wanna cling to the past when there was only Collei and DMC lol.

Actually, when childe is built correctly, his burst damage is really good. And childe national is the only team that can clear abyss with all c0 4 stars and all 4 star weapons that are either craftable or fish 2 play. The only bad things about this team are the rotations and xiangling's black hole of a stomach, one bad rotation and your dmg goes down the drain.

Kinda suprised that navia is only on 10th place. She has many good comps, she is not cons dependent, fronloaded damage. I prefer her much more than xiao for example. Clorinde and wrio being higher than her? How?

As a Nilou main....iam soo happy u included her! Shes very niche yes but REALLY STRONG and sooo f2p friendly. You dont need much rotations....eveerything just dies😂

You can comsider adding Yoimiya. She is one of the easiest dps to play. She has 3 star weapon slingshot and 4 star weapon Rust. She is single target focused but her range makes up for it. She uses Shimenawa artifact which is to most resin efficient to farm. She doesn't rely on her burst to do damage. She has great synergy with meta supports like Kazuha, Yelan, Xingqiu, Zhongli, Fischl, Bennett, Sucrose, Furina, etc. She has lots of team comps to play with~ Vape, mono pyro, melt, overvape, overload, burgeon, etc. If you are using her with Furina, she can use 4pc Hunter set which is also extremely resin efficient. A lot of mobile player will be helped by her simple gameplay and simple rotations.

There's a lot of misinformation about Wriothesley in the comments, which is just really sad to see. I feel like a lot of people discredit him due to the belief that he's reliant on his C1 or on his signature, which is just not true. I've been using him C0 with no signature since he came out and while i enjoy his playstyle a lot and will definitely try to get his C1 on a rerun, it's nowhere as necessary to him as people make him out to be. More importantly the video is absolutely right that he has access to great F2P team options and weapons, especially at C0. Wriothesley is a lot more flexible than people think.

My favourite Alhaithm team is Alhaithm Nahida Yae Baizhu(TTDS buffer/healer build) It pretty much competes with my furina teams. The main key here is Baizhu's A4, which massively buffs Dendro reactions likr Spread, aggrevate, and hyperbloom. At 50K HP he can buff hyperbloom damage by 100% and Aggrevate/Spread damage by 40%. On top of that if you guve him, TTDS he will buff your next active character's attack (usually Yae miko) by another 48%. Plus you can give him Deepwood artifact set to increase nahida and alhaithm's damage. Coming to nahida she is fully on EM build, with guilded dreams set. She massive buffs elemental mastery of both Yae and Alhaithm. And both Yae and alhaithm scale with elemental mastery. Alhaithm is also running on guilded dreams set, and I have given him wolf fang from battle pass. Yae has R5 widsith, and she is running on 4pc golden troupe. The set gives her 75% skill damage increase. Widsith itself gives her massive buffs. On top of that baizhu gives her 48% attack buff through TTDS, and Baizhu's burst buff aggrevatereaction damage by 40%. Apart from that Nahida also give her massive elemental mastery buff, thereby increasing her elemental skill damage, and also spread reaction damage.

As a Cyno Main, I agree. It takes so much more investment for him, including his stellar team to perform great and sadly Raiden will still performing the same or maybe even slightly better with his same stellar team with less investment, plus the lack of f2p polearms. Im just glad I havr winged jade spear.

The main problem with tighnari and cyno aside from team, is the most part of both scalings is locked behind their signature, as their kit also benefits the extra scaling it gives...

I love hu tao, but even I am surprised to see her in this list xD Your arguments made sense, though! The Xianyun team was a good call, imo, since it's a team that "fix" her C0 problems. But I also understand your point on how not everyone will pull for Xianyun (even though they should, it's so fun =p)

I think this list could've stood to put a bit more emphasis on F2P. While there are tons of F2P accounts with lots of characters at this point, I think that it's a little bit disingenuous to rank characters that rely on Nahida, Yelan, Furina, or Kazuha so highly. Sure, they're incredibly valuable teammates that a lot of people pull for - but I think that not needing any 5 star teammates should outrank that. Hu Tao and Alhaitham, for example, REALLY suffer without their proper 5 star supports imo. In short, Navia should be a lot higher since she can easily be run with ENTIRELY free characters.

I'm glad people are past the cope of Arlecchino being anywhere close to Neuvillette lmfao. My Hu Tao mogs, personally I don't struggle at all with her and she has carried me through every abyss since I first got her. I will never bench.

I agree with other people saying Wrio shouldn't be here, or lower than navia, wrio doesn't have a particularly good pure f2p team since bennet xl and thoma rely on constellations to let him melt properly, while navia has extremely good flexibility thanks to geo traveler being free and her last two spots being filled by any off field elemental application

damage wise best teams available for each 5 star is 1.Arlechino 2.neuvi 3.childe 4.alhaitham 5.hutao (with xianyun) 6.raiden 7.nilou 8.clorinde ......thats just my team ...and remember its ranked by best team not personal dmg

Lyney has a great F2P bow in Song of Stillness, and it's even better when played with Furina. I kinda agree with others Wriosthely and Nilou are questionable for this list, I'd probably swap one out for Lyney.

I would like to see a team archetype and sub archetype ranking video for aoe and single target scenario. Like hyperbloom , hypercarry , no main dps(national , double hydro hyperbloom), freaze , swirl setups , bloom (nilou ,kaveh) , mono element (mono pyro ,mono hydro,mono geo) etc

just give arche a shielder like layla or zhongli and then see if she is p2f friendly or not! Those f2p who r having troubles with her just for one time try this and u will know❤❤!!

As a f2p with lyney he does do very high dmg even at f2p investment but there is a catch. He's very back loaded as it does takes time to get max dmg with him and he's extremely squishy and is difficult to play. I still love him tho.

Kokomi does do quite a large portion of the damage in monohydro, especially with Furina & Yelan & Kazuha (or Xingqiu for the hydro res shred) buffing her damage.

Dude can you share your Childe Internat sheet? I'm gonna fully admit to being a bit hypocritical about this because I haven't tried "accurately" sheeting the team myself, but I swear every KQMS calc for this team I've seen, whether on paper or on gcsim, all fall in that 45K-50K range which is just frankly ridiculous. If you're playing the team right, you should be able to achieve ~25s rotations. At your final value of 46K DPS, that amounts to just 1.15M DPR. To say that that figure is misleadingly low is an understatement. Do y'all just assume the bare minimum possible hitcount on XL or something?

Seeing some of the comments here, I feel sad for the side effects of the speedrunning community. It makes this "oh childe is actually a bad character, you need to reset alot" archetype. I do agree hes hard to play (some label his team as clunky), but thats for me is the fun of it. You can clear the abyss without him critting his ult, as long as you know how to drive xiangling properly. If you put that as "that takes too much skill, so its not F2P", then yeah hes not F2P in that context.

Well, no one will probably notice this comment but still... As f2p who has both Navia and Clorinde I'd switch them in this ranking. My Navia with event weapon is doing much better in the abyss than Clorinde with Absolution. That's because I have neither Kazuha (lost on him twice) nor Furina and have only C1 Fischl. Tbh I don't think that character who NEEDS two other 5* and C6 4* in their team to be good can be considered f2p-friendly...

It’s hard to make a list like this because for me units like yelan could be played as a main dps (mono hydro sigewinne) and the f2p value is just due to being able to fill main dps role and sub dps roles. I like the list, but I personally don’t use Hu Tao. I have her c0 without sig weapon and she just does okay. Compared to my c0 yoimiya on r5 rust it’s maybe like 10% worse and that’s me doing perfect jump cancels and dodge cancels. I feel like the amount of effort required in both farming artifacts and having to jump cancel every hit makes her less f2p friendly. Id say ayaka is probably more f2p friendly with craftable inazuma weapon and can work well if they didn’t nerf freeze in abyss.

well the list only has two tiers 1 neuv at the top and 2 all other carries are tied for second place within build difference.

You should make a video with high investment and 5star supports and some people in comments will know how the rankings change 😂😂 except for the top-5 or top-3

Just to give my 2 cents. I'm F2P and have been using Ayaka to clear every recent Abyss. My team consists of Ayaka, Furina, Charlotte, and Kazuha. Before getting Kazuha, I used Sucrose and it worked fine. The point is even without Shenhe, my Ayaka team still performs really well.

Bro says "Harbinger of Dawn's 90% HP requirement realistically is rarely an issue because Haitham is constantly paired with either Zhongli or a healer" and then proceeds to play a bunch of footage in the background where Haitham isn't above 90% HP, including with Zhongli lmfao.

As a f2p neuvi main with proto amber with three crowned i am grateful for the things he does for me in almost everything i do.Started genshin cuz of the hydro dragon and stayed for him,never regretted getting him at all he is so damn fun wnd is also top three overall dps :):))

As a F2P, Neuvillette is by far the best thing that happened to my account. Glad to pull him along with Kazuha.

the Ayato, is the second or third best option in lots of good teams best in none. He probably is a great pick up for newer F2P players as he opens up a lot of teams (feels like almost every hydro team he can function well) but everyone of those teams can be upgraded by another hydro unit it feels like.

Clorinde, Raiden, Hu Tao and Nilou above Childe seems questionable to me, his team has consistently been clearing almost all types of content till now and still great at ST and one of the best for AoE and has pretty good vertical investment. Even going by your own sheet, with r5 Rust Childe does about the same as Xianling in the team, and that's not even his best bow. I think another vague statement about the team you made is about his weapons regarding the difference between the 4 stars and 5 stars being very huge but you overlooked that Stringless can pretty much compete against the 5* bows and even best some for burst. I do see some counter-arguments you can make such as him being very niche and hard to play, but the argument goes for Haitham as well, he has pretty much one f2p niche and also can be hard to play with managing his mirror stacks, also more favoured for ST content. The same argument kinda also goes for Hu Tao in a way. I think Nilou is fine and debatable, Raiden now has more archetypes but still not too different from Ayato or Kokomi (such as competing with Kuki who is a four star in hyperbloom teams, competing against drivers for Xianling like Childe and Sucrose, etc.), kind of similar situation to Ayato but offers more. Another strong point you missed for International, Nilou teams and Neuv teams is that they free up Xingqiu or any other hydro for your 2nd half, and I think that we can already acknowledge that this is a pretty good strong point for f2p teams since Xingqiu is very strong and almost majority of the top teams depend on hydro if not all, you can make so many archetypes with hydro and two of the most f2p friendly ones being national/vape and hyper bloom. And why do the sheets look scuffed?

wriothesley is so underrated, idk why ppl think he deals low dmg. Even at C0R0 he outdoes all cryo dpses by far

i fw this list, actually almost exactly how i'd rate it; maybe a few small adjustments (i really like navia and raiden personally, so my bias would probably move them up a spot or two, but i'm also bp/welkin the last couple years so i understand the lens through which i experience the game isn't the same as f2p), but really nailed it imo

for childe its better stringless sience charge atk are very important for childe personal dmg, and stringless can oneshot the first wave easy or phase a boss very quickly like kenki, so im practice stringless gonna be a much better option

The fact that Childe is there and he's not really a DPS but a driver shows how great of a unit he is. If he doesn't have the cooldown mechanic, he would probably be at number 5 or 6

I think after 5.0 Allhatiam will be 2nd because of strongbox for sumeru domain, but i think Arle is still the 2nd for now. But its a great video, i think you should make a 4 star/standard 5* version, because it would help a lot the new players.

I posted this on Jamie's video where you talked about this list and it had me wondering if you could do a follow-up video where you cover the 4 and 5 star units you feel like most TCs and guide-makers *assume* every account ought to have and have built with appropriate artifacts. We all obviously have our own suspicions but it'd be neat to see what you personally think on the subject. Also: TGS 5, Jamie 3, draw 2 on my end haha

I think Chlorinde and Navia's positions should be switched because of the following: a. Navia is by far the best F2P Geo DPSes bar none, especially compared to Itto. Chlorinde, meanwhile, has numerous other forms of competition in the form of Raiden, Keqing, Yae and maybe Cyno but that one is more arguable. Even if Chlorinde out dpses most of her competition, her field is so saturated that she doesn't feel like a beneficial F2P pull b. Navia takes very little effort to play and be beneficial. She doesn't need any specific team comps to work out. Chlorinde needs to move around her timing restrictions to make her teams feel comfortable. c. While Geo is in a bad position right now, Navia's damage makes it so that she's the best pick when going against any geo shields or geo vulnerable enemies. Whereas you still have numerous ways to go around electro vulnerable enemies beyond just using Chlorinde. d. Navia has a bigger gun

Top 4 I agree. Lower 6... It's not that I disagree, it's that in my opinion they are significantly worse for a new-ish f2p player than the top 4. The list should be like 5 characters long, but the video would probably be too short.

I feel like not including characters that need Faruzan or Chev, but including Furina variants for characters that don't actually run her often has the same level of impracticality. Usage rate isn't good for telling a unit's overall strength but it can be a good look into the f2p mindset. Alhaitham only appearing in Furina's 26th most popular team compared to Neuv's #1, Xiao's #5, Clorinde's #6, or Hu tao's 11th. Should be a good indicator that most f2p don't view the pairing as high priority and I think it boosted him quite a bit here.

After listening up to the end of Alhaitham's entry, I feel like his entry for some reason is the only one where you've placed him based on his team rather than himself? As a DPS, Arlecchino far surpasses him and it's not even close, even if his team can compete with hers. I personally feel like for Alhaitham's ranking specifically, you're not judging him by his value specifically and instead giving him second place because he has the best hyperbloom team.

I am a complete F2P, playing Genshin for about 1.5 years. I decided to get C1 Furina just because of this awful Spiral Abyss we got now, since I also have all the characters I wanted, so the first criterion is somewhat flexible (now, I think having a "critical" C1 is still fine for F2Ps, granted you can even get double 5* within a single 10-pull). As for the characters, I have not yet mastered Clorinde, nor did I get the Whimsy artifact set for her yet, and with Finale of the Deep R5 and Gladiator set, her bes team unfortunately requires Nahida/Kazuha/Fischl, so in the current abyss, where the second half requires me to use a Mono Hydro team, I could only try her with Chevreuse/Thoma/Fischl on the first half, and it was a disaster for me, it is too clunky. C0 Alhaitham is best for me here, and I use him with Harbinger of Dawn all the time, with Kuki and Xingqiu (and Nahida this time). He is amazing, just I should always bear in mind the rotation, so as to have both hydro and electro application all the time. I do have access to Arlecchino, C0 with White Tassel R5, and she is not that strong/easy to play. Same as C0 Hu Tao with Dragon's Bane, although Hu Tao is even worse to play. I do not have Neuvillette, and pray Natlan releases a better character, or else, I will have to pull for him and his C1, else, I just hate his lack of interruption resistance that averted me a lot from this character while testing him out. Raiden does not heal, so I use Kuki in my Hyperbloom teams (Baizhu could solve the issue, but I did not pull for Baizhu).

i'm honestly not a fan of recommending Nilou anymore, yes she's very f2p friendly and yes she has easy to build teams but she also has nowhere to go from there and isn't that much better then hyperbloom for abyss where most of the time you're not fighting that many enemies together. as a c1r1 Nilou haver i don't use her anymore cuz my other teams just clear faster now that i have some solid crit artifacts Edit: my main argument here is not that Nilou is weak, it is that an Abyss where she excels almost never happens' Edit 2: just cleared floor 12 chamber 1 first half with a Nilou team and hyperbloom respectively, and the Nilou team was 7 seconds faster Nilou Nahida Baizhu Kokomi vs Kirara Nahida Xingqui Kuki

Clorinde made it ❤❤❤! I never even liked DPS characters and played off-field meta for years until Ayato tempted me but sadly he was the most Ayato character in the game so it didn't last long, Clorinde isn't just a mix of everything that makes Raiden and Beidou beautiful, she is also the most satisfying character i have ever used as a m1 spamming rapid fire addict. Always use her on TF, its less flashy numbers but her individual numbers never look that good, its about how quick she gets the job done and how enjoyable it is for people like me.

im sure mualani will be as f2p friendly as neuvillette since they have similar build same f2p weapon, same artifacts(marechausse also works well for her as long as theres furina in the team but the new set is still better),almost same team comps since reactions is not mandatory on mualani,

Should mention Nilou's reliance on Nahida as well Edit: For PPL arguing in chat 1. Nahida is beast deepwood holder, makes rotations trivial 2. Scales of full EM so her blooms r much stronger 3. Can be used solo dendro with strong off field hydro to clear solo target situations 4. Gives massive em buff to onfield hydro triggers 5. There is no replacement even close to her right now. 6. Nilou can't be considered top teir DPS without Nahida. 7. I am not saying the list is wrong just that a Nahida mention would be nice so that ppl know

Tighnari should be there, his cons isn't bad and you probably get to c2-c4 after playing the game several years, with Cons he will be on par or even beat the above teams mentioned. Unlike the other standard 5* dps which their cons doesn't really improve much excluding c6 dehya I guess.

Good video. I'm glad to see someone understand the F2P doesn't mean low investment. Like if you're not going to bother to invest the 180 resin you get then how much do you really care how strong your characters are to begin with? You're definitely one of the best Genshin CC and know how to fill the gaps between character releases with useful and entertaining videos.

Yae miko is better than clorinde at f2p investment. Yae miko has wisdith which is the strongest 4 star f2p weapon for a dps compared to clorinde 4 star options. Clorinde normal attacks a lot so you cannot deny the fact that fischl c6 is a big upgrade for her. I play yae miko fischl nahida (prototype amber) sucrose (hakushin ring). Everyone is completely range so is easier to dodge so I can just survive with PA. Has good AOE burst dmg with moderate setup and most dmg is done automatically so more focus on dodging and harder to mess up the dps.

Your lynney reasoning was there I guess but he's still stronger than wriothesley I'd say. And having his strongest options be Bennet xiangling kazuha or zhongli or Bennet kazuha zhongli should help his case cuz most players will have all these characters anyways And he can also play the furina card to distribute responsibilities in the team
