I'd like to give a shoutout to Kled (and Skaarl!). He in my opinion is perfect. Goofy, yet so representative of his region. He's a counterpart to Poppy, a classic champion. The voice lines might be best in class. He's a drunk, old, insane, lizard riding bandito who loves nothing in this world except himself, his land, his lizard, and some good ol' Tacos.

Ik it's really impractical, but it would be sick if Riot made audiobooks of their stories with some of the champions telling them. I'd pay money to hear someone like Braum or Tahm Kench tell me stories about Runeterra.

Fun fact : in the French version of the game ,Ivern was dubbed "Le père vert" aka the green father. The funny thing is "le père vert" sounds a lot like "le pervers" , so we had Ivern the pervert for a good week

Honestly, I’m super happy Samira’s on here! She’s super cool, a League female character that is actually over 25, and I agree that she’s literally only missing battle scars. My 2nd favorite adc behind Jhin!

Maybe she does have scars but they are not visible with her default attire. I don't know if they explicitly said in the lore that she has none but if they haven't they could always release a short story with an image and see her back or leg and they will have a huge scar(s). I think she is fantastic and wouldn't change anything. Scars behind clothing can also be part of storytelling. As much as it shows a character is hardened, visible scars can be rather cliche. Knowing that they potentially exist intrigues me way more than actually seeing them :]

@@SiMeGamer I pretty much agree but I always feel like it depends on the gender cuz I see more visible scars with males than females. It's kind of refreshing seeing vice versa. As well depending on the location of scar as well cuz there are certain locations where it can be pretty cliche. Placement of a scar can tell what story.

I personally would've put Poppy in this list. She perfectly encapsulates the feeling of honourable and humble innocence, while also showing that these terms do not mean that a character can't look strong and competent.

While I'm a bit sad he isn't on the list, Braum would be one of my personal favorite champions because Braum is an absolute Bro of the highest order, but overall its a pretty solid list that I wholeheartedly respect.

I think the fiddlesticks rework was probably the best overhaul that’s ever happened from a lore and design standpoint; new fiddle is just terrifying and his way of repeating lines from champions most personal fears in his grating, scraping voice is just awesome

So sad that mah boy pantheon only got as an extra honorable mention, I mean his lore is fucking amazing, his voice lines encourages you and if everyone could hear them the games would last for 2 hours because 3veryone would be motivated to keep going, his art desing, his theme is fucking glorious, he has so many good points to be a number 1 or 2 best champion desings right now

I think the thing is, while he's very cool and has a lot going for him, at the end of the day he's still kinda just a Spartan. A unique take no doubt, but aesthetically he's just straight up a Spartan.

Ok so 99% of people forget she's in the game, but Lissandra is so cool imo. She's an immortal ice witch that was blinded by Volibear, a demigod, and has hidden the history of the entire freljord on her own due to not wanting others or herself to face the past in which she murdered her sisters and their tribes and she is constantly working to just barely keep at bay the void that she has released unto the world out of fear and the personality of a character like this is portrayed awesomely through her design. She's got a giant armored helmet and shoulderguards over a black dress that connects to the black ice that she uses to move around instead of her feet, with all of this showing that she's this guarded, unemotional person. Then she's constantly pointing and reaching out while moving to signify that one she's blind and two she's desperate for something. Then her skin is blue due to herself becoming immune to true ice and then she has a long white braid to accentuate her statue like height and figure while also giving her a slight sense of humanity and elegance. There's just so much you can see about the character just by watching her move around and I think she's underappreciated in design, gameplay, and lore way too much. Even her gameplay matches with her design and lore because her gameplan in teamfights is either to keep the enemy cced as long as possible until they die or to keep yourself alive as long as possible while the enemies die around you with your passive going off.

Agreed 100% the only thing I can think about her weird is how her dress is open in the boobs, but other than that she is truly a masterpiece as a character, I hope we see more of her soon.

Sadly the design choice is kinda generic tho. I can mistake Lissandra for an enemy in Power Rangers or Final Fantasy. However, her lore is cool, I can't wait to see her big lore in Freljord come to life.

@@Koksaraa Not saying the design choice is bad, just 'generic'. But it works very well on her case, so it's good design. Well, however, Nicky didn't put her in the ranking. What is happening? There must be several reasons. I'm not a designer myself (although I create some OC aka original characters) but here's what I can think of: 1. Lissandra was a product of old lore (Journal of Justice). So some of the details of modern lore, like True Ice or Black Ice, might be derived from Lissandra design alone by process of adaptation instead of created from scratch. 2. They should explore more of Freljord's modern thematics (accessories, primal powers, etc) before designing, but it's unlikely, because of point 1. 3. Boob window, of course. 4. Or if these are not the actual reasons, maybe the others designs are simply better, overpowering her in comparison.

I love aatrox, he is my baby, but unfortunately he just a generic demon basically - although with an original sword. A shame he can't really be up there, but I still think that you picked honestly basically everyone who should've been there (maybe Camille would be a good honorable mention though, but that is the only complain I genuinely have)

new aatrox is defo better than old aatrox in that term, sad that most ppl see him as "doom boss ripoff demon #7482" while he has amazing lore with pantheon and probably the biggest voiceline pack in the game

@@naukith2023 Yeah, it's really the voicelines and lore that actually sells him. Character design wise I'd actually say he's almost a complete dissapointment. I mean, c'mon, with all of that 40k lore with constant torment due to the sheer shame and agony of existence driving him mad, with all the mentions of how he is a complete and utter perversion of what he used to be once; this brilliant warrior of the sun reduced to a miserable creature below even the worms in dignity, a monstrosity which knows no bounds as death is prefferable to it's wretched torture of a life. And what do we get in game? A majestic demon, crown of horns and all. Where's the perverse form of his that mocks divinity itself? Where's the mutating, malformed carcass that decays with each second, devoured by Aatrox to keep the lights on for just a second longer? Where are the scars of dozens of battles that riddle the current body of his? Where do we see the desperation, the hunger for battle? The drive to destroy, to consume, to overtake and eventually destroy all along with himself? A D&D devil with a bastard sword. Awesome, amazing, fantastic.

In honorable mentions I would add Voli, the rowork was graet and they upgraded the boring bear with armor into a real primal good and we got a skin , a special voli model in aram I mean it's just good

Honestly, Akshan really went up for me after LoR. He is so charming there, unlike LoL where he is kinda shallow. Same with Zilean and Karma

I was waiting for Fiddlesticks, I love him so much. I don’t love playing him as much as my mains but he’s got such a perfect design. I’m actually working on a cosplay right now that I’ll hopefully have done in time for pax east (assuming pax happens this year)

Kled and Pyke deserved honourable mentions! They're cool af. Kled injects a nice dash of humour into our lore, which is getting a bit needlessly dark and edgy imo. Pyke is dark and edgy but in the best way possible- also, their themes are both so good. And props for the Lauren Solio joke, took me waaaay back...

I feel like akali does deserve a spot in HMs at least i feel like the way her design and aesthetics blends well with her kit and her lore. Shes still a part of kinkou but theres some degree of separation from the likes of shen, shes the face of the kinkou order approacing the outer world: a young talented assassin who represents the new in contrast to shen that manages to being very estheticallt pleasing but i dont feel like she is oversexualized that much, she also has some muscles

I love Yorick lore. I love how he doesn't want revenge but peace for the shadow isle and when he meet kindred in game. He only see the wolf which is the cherry on top. It a miserable tale for a Hero and a sorrowful ending for a monk.

speaking as a brazilian in my opinion, kled has one of the best designs, and his lines (at least here in Brazil) are more than perfect, the voice work makes the character even better, I would like to give you an idea of content to use in your channel, why don't you react to the voice of some characters in other languages? This would make subscribers from other countries identify themselves on your channel, seeing you reacting to something normal for us which would be very strange for you, And a tip if you want to start in Brazil, listen to kled's interactions, I'll talk about some characters that the voice actor dubbed: buzz Lightyear and Scooby doo (at least in the last few years it was him, since the the original voice actor died a while ago), That doesn't exactly make sense, but yes, kled's voice actor is the same voice as buzz Lightyear and Scooby doo, and guess what? Yes it was perfect, at least for Brazil where he uses classic expressions from our informal dictionary, You will have a lot of fun with the Brazilian dubbing, I love your video, I just think fiddlesticks should be number one, but I'm certainly not the only one with that opinion, I hope you like my idea and I hope it becomes content on your channel, I love your channel, and sorry for my bad English, sou do Rio Grande do Sul(um estado do Brasil caso algum americano fique curioso) sim o brasileiro é uma praga q se espalha Muito rápido, estamos em todos os lugares

When u said "Ekko is the perfect protagonist" I nearly screamed and fucking waken up the whole house. I love the little man, he is my muse and addiction I make everyone exsoutred by how much I love him. His design is great both with iroquois or dreadlocks. His story is compelling and WE GONNA GET EVEN MORE... can't wait for converg/nce so they will develop him even more! BUT HE IS JUST PERFECT CRATER FOR ME! Honestly, i didn't expect i would agree so much with this list, especially nr 1. I dont even play nunu and willump but always loved their design. They remind me of those childhood dreams, of adventure, being a hero and their theme song makes it even better.

That thing you said about Samira missing scars. Supposedly, whenever she gets a scar, she puts a tattoo over it, sometimes even when the wound is still open (Metal af if you ask me). As you can see, her arms are full of tattoo, so you tell me.

Imo Urgot is one of the best designed champs, as well as a really underappreciated one, although I see why you picked the ones you did. I mean, he's genuinely one of the most terrifying champions in league, he's got a meat grinder in his stomach that he pulls you in with a giant drill, and, most importantly, he's got Shotgun Knees

Tahm Kench (Look at that THICC southern-ass catfish boi, what is there not to love about him?) 9. Rell (Kick-ass lore and design that honestly makes a really cool teen rebel character. Also please be my girlfriend) 8. Mordekaiser (Sending people to Brazil has never looked this cool and sounded this awesome) 7. Warwick (I wasn't a furry...but then this awesome Zaunite Werewolf showed up and well here we are ) 6. Urgot (I just can't get enough of this Mad Max Bane-looking crab man. Also S H O T G U N K N E E S ) 5. Illaoi (Oh hey Riot knows how to make a non-generic female champion and also do it well) 4. Kled (I would watch a show about Kled and Skaarl's antics till the day I die) 3. Ekko (How the fuck have they managed to make such a cool character? Also best League Champion Theme don't argue) 2. At first I didn't really agree with the Ivern pick because he didn't seem all that special until you brought up the trope and how tired it is. That made me realize how between his motions and voice lines especially his personality is brought through the character and is so different from the default tree man he could have been. In my opinion pyke or kindred has the most interesting lore and swain, fiddlesticks or kindred has the coolest designs in the game. TF or Jihn has the best designed kits in the game.

The lack of Heimerdinger makes me extremely sad (or any yordle I honestly, Ziggs is pretty great too) but Heimer is a great design, gotta love the afro. Vex is also pretty damn good for a new champ, the fact she's designed to look like a goth teen mixed with a sloth is a really fun design.

I’m pretty sure kindred just takes on different forms depending on where the character comes from and what they believe. Kinda like The Volibear as he appears differently to those who summon him, spoopy people get the thousand pierced bear, normal peeps get the regular volibear.

My top boy (who you already mentioned) is Ekko. I don't know what it is about him, but I love his lore, his character, his design and "Seconds" is imo the best League cinematic (though I am well aware that is a case of favouritism). I am just a bit sad at the Arcane version completely missing the "kid" part of the original design (which is just saying I want him to be less serious in the show). Also, how did you not mention a single Ascended? Not even in the Honorable Mentions!?

I'd agree with Nunu and Willump being #1 because he reminsd me of old League, where it was fun, and joy, and comedic and even dark comedic. New League is no longer that, it's all dark and edgy. Ironically Nunu and Willump represent the good side of League, while Fiddlesticks represents the dark side of League, kind of funny they went head to head.

Probably a weird pick, but...Ahri. To me, Ahri is a fantastic case study in how to develop a character beyond her initial roots. While once just a fox that absorbed magic and essence from her victims, she's become a tragic Vastaya huntress with an addiction to consuming memories. Who's also trying to find herself and where she came from. Her entire character has become based around both good and bad memories. And I think that's such a fantastic direction to go towards with her character. On top of that, so many other interpretations of her have improved her design so much, going for a more feral and wild look compared to just archetypical sexy. Which please, Riot, continue with that direction for her ASU.

Taric's design would have been better but I never fail to smile when I see Taric. He's the ONLY character where I will actually use his base model over using a skin. His face could look more in line with is splash art but I like the big nose/squared chin approach.
