I never had the white robe Leia as a kid. The only Leia I had was the Cloud City one back then. I found an incomplete white robe Leia in a Face Book Star Wars group about five years ago for $10. I was glad to find her. I think the most I've ever spent on a loose figure was a solid dome R2D2 with a really nice sticker and paint for $20. The seller, also in an FB group, was kind enough to include the card that he came on too. No bubble, but the 1977 card, with its black back and advert for the action stand was well worth the cost. I love the Jawa but the vinyl cape version isn't one that I want. I actually prefer the cloth cape version. You did well on your purchase. That's a slick looking case display too.

Thanks John! I really wish I had begun my collecting journey seriously about 20 years ago. I find it challenging to stay on budget but keep going. It’s still fun and I’m broadening my search to include conventions and in person deals. But man, some figures are expensive. I've been working my way through your collecting journey so far and I have to say, I am loving your vids man! Your energy and passion is infectious and the production value is next level! 👌 I completely agree in relation to the Imperial Gunner, I think he's my favourite in the line... next to the humble Snowtrooper (my childhood favourite which has becone a little bit of an obsession) 🙌 Speaking of which... it looks like the skirt on your Snowtrooper is up the wrong way!? I agree with BOTH of your figure selections! I would do figure focuses on BOTH! Well AND Ahsoka :). Yea I bought that figure about 20 years ago and have never fixed it. I know its wrong and I tried to fix it, but its really jammed around the arms and I didnt want to rip. I may get a replacement for it, and I do have a gradable version in a kenner baggie that Im going to send off soon. Thanks for watching Smuggler and MTFBWY!

EV-9D9 is one of the nicest looking figures in the line. Plenty of Yak Faces going cheap in 1985 in Australia as well. Going for under $2.00 when they were on clearance. Those figures you purchased were great, very good quality. Very fortunate to start completing my vintage figure collection in 1990.

Great video! Another factor that can increase those loose figure prices is if they were graded loose and carried an impressive grade of say 80, 85….this can command an even higher amount with some even doubling in price from what you mentioned!

Wow shipping box could of been a lot better. Plus Always put figures separate and their accessories separately. Takes away the risk of scratching them in shipping. Either way congrats bro on the figures

Yea someone I knew who lived in buffalo said his local drug store carried yak face and that’s where he bought his. I've still got all my Star Wars figures, but none of them are near-mint because we played with them an awful lot. I'm really going to have to get a display like the one you have behind you, and which I'm intensely jealous of. 😁 What I'd really like to get my hands on are some of the legendary bootleg figures like the Uzay Blue Stars....you get one of those in your display case and people will be begging to know where you got it. And you can just casually say, "This one? Oh, it's a knockoff. Came from overseas. Yeah, cost me a thousand but it was worth it." And then you can just watch them stare at this blue Snowtrooper they never knew existed.

Great video. I have a 1977 Princess Leia in excellent condition, and all the last 17 figures, all in excellent condition and complete. Luke Stormtrooper has a bit of yellowing though unfortunately. But, that's the way I bought him initially. The best of luck collecting to you.

I used to go into shops back then, but I was in university and didnt make much money, so it was mostly window shopping, and the figures I did buy back then were incomplete, as I didnt know what the full figures came with. There wasnt a lot of access to that information back then, nor was I a part of any collecting groups. And I wish I collected back then because I would have loved to pick up the last 17 at prices that you can get a chewbacca for lol today. Glad you have been collecting for so long and can show me some of the ropes! And thanks for watching from Ireland! I hope I can make it back there one day :). Thanks Wolves, MTFBWY!

The potf stormtrooper luke and han in carbonite were some of the hardest to find in Northern Ohio in 84 just like the storm shadow.

So your list has gotten my curious what I paid back in the day when I actively collecting the Kenner Vintage line. To be fair I was doing this in the late 90s and early 2000s. Looking at my spreadsheet (a file I haven't opened in nearly 10 years), the only figure I paid more than $100 for was Blue Snaggletooth. Little bit lower quality than any figures other than my originals, the toes have some paint wear. Luke Stromtrooper and Yak Face I felt were pretty at the time. I would have paid about $30 to $45 less on the Luke Stromtrooper had I not gotten into a biding war with a guy who's user name was lukestromtrooper. He begged me to retracted my bids and then begged me to sell him the figure. Yak Face was my first overseas purchase (came from the UK) and the first item I used PayPal on. Good memories.

@@thepadawancollectorofficial So here's the thing, comparing prices from 25 years to present isn't a fair comparison. For the time I got average prices. Some were reasonable deals for the time. Some were I over paid for. For Bespin Han I paid 60% above what I should have. It would be like comparing original retail price to today's price. Did I get a good deal on a carded Leia Boushh I paid $2.99 in 1984? Sounds amazing today given that you can't buy anything but a incomplete beater figure for that little. But for the time it was likely the average price of figure in my home town. So it was an average deal at best. Were the final figure I bought as kid, Admiral Ackbar and Klaatu, for 2 for $1 at Kay Bee's in 1988 a good deal? Again sounds amazing, but for the time it was likely the average.

a few weeks ago I saw and bought a vinyl cape jawa on a local selling website from an old couple. they sold all first 12 (including VC Jawa) + cantina creatures + pilot luke for aprox. 600USD. I mean... the others are overprized but that jawa tho. never thought that I would ever own one 😁 (not yet graded but i checked everything. seems genuine so far)

I think I’m after it because I remember seeing those in the store and I believe I got my Luke Skywalker from that line. But I don’t remember the coins so I can’t be sure. But I love those figures so I have to get that entire line! Those Kenner figures are so historical!

If it’s an original r2 pop up sabre, it’s worth around $350. That’s just for the sabre. A complete r2 loose example in excellent condition is now worth around $600. A POTF MOC ungraded r2 in excellent condition is worth around $1,200 An AFA graded MOC r2 around $1,800.

Hey SGT! I agree. By the time 84 hit I was into transformers and baseball and didn’t want stat wars toys anymore. Was a shame. I wish I had gotten some of the POTF figures. They were on discount at so many stores!

I also want to question the story about the vinyl caped Jawa. I got mine when they first hit my store and they were all cloth cape.

About that Jawa....I have heard that some of them are counterfeit. Shady characters will carefully pare down Obi-Wan Kenobi's vinyl cape and pass their Jawa figure off as a genuine vinyl-caped Jawa, so buyer beware. The only way you can _really_ be sure you're getting the genuine article is to have it inspected by an expert, or buy it in the bubble.

Ah yes I should clarify that as I am learning about this as well. I should say Near Mint instead of mint. This can mean loose or figures still in the card. And even if they are in the card they can loose their “mint” quality by being damaged by the sun or by being crushed or Damaged by nature (like water damage). Near mint figures mean that their limbs are tight and don’t move easily, that their paint jobs have not been damaged, and that they come with all the original correct accessories and that the accessories aren’t damaged as well. @@thepadawancollectorofficial Yes, but I left my Star-Wars figures with my grandma because I moved into my own apartment when I was 17 and you know what ? She threw my Star Wars figures in the trash and gave some away to family members or others without my knowledge! Damn.....

there are a customizers making high quality, near perfect reproductions of the last 17 figures, blue snag, as well as figures never produced in the original line - most available from $20 - $50. if you're in it for the fun and aesthetic of kenner star wars, no need to pay hundreds for little bits of plastic 😉

Yes I agree those figures are amazing and I especially like like the Han stormtrooper from Stan solo! I think collectors should definitely collecting the items that bring them joy. For me, and me alone, I get joy out of getting the original figures made from the era of 1977-1985. But I love that people have a choice to get those same looking figures for lower costs to add to their collections as well :). Thanks for watching Carlo! MTFBWY!

Can I find a yak face for $10? Lol. I have a time machine 😂. Yea I was shocked when I got that deal. I had to send those pics to about 4 different people. And even when I got it, I thought the figures wouldn’t be the ones in the pic. Thanks for being a part of the journey Jer! MTFBWY

I don’t know…I have a graded EV AFA 85 that doesn’t look near that nice. A little to perfect looking in my experience. Care on those weapons. Hope they’re real my man! Grade those and brace yourself

Yes I really had to check the weapon against photos on the imperial Gunnery. I still want to take them into my local vintage shop to get a second and third pair of eyes on them and I’ll def update when that happens. It’s mostly for the pew pew to make 1000% sure it’s real. I need to be that sure before I send in for grading.
