My hometown of Los Angeles is the best city in the world (my unbiased opinion of course lol) and I am always asked about what to do when you visit LA - so today, I am showing you!

18 dollars for strawberries the average person doesn’t even make that in a hour. The inflation of prices are ridiculous.

Those strawberries are "luxury" fruit and only sold at high end groceries like Erewhon. If you go to a regular grocery store or even a farmer's market in LA, strawberries are only $3-$5 a basket. (Japan also sells luxury fruit; some of their melons go for $50 and they have a white strawberry that's $20) Just putting that out there in case anyone thinks thats how much fruit normally costs in LA (its not lol).

It’s worth it to note. To those who are not native to LA. Like Amber had mentioned. Downtown/Santee Alley. Is also next to Skid Row. Which is where a lot of homeless encampments are. As well as shelters. Not the most safe place to go. So just be careful. But Santee Alley is a great place to go for discounted, anything. Bring cash, and note you can haggle prices if you go. :)

Came in 2019 stayed at the Hollywood Roosevelt. I was able to visit Santa Monica Pier & Rodeo Drive. Look forward visiting again and seeing more sites.

Growing up in LA I never appreciated the shops and how everything outside and you can just shop and eat at 5 star restaurant and just walk to everything until I moved. I now live in Dallas and everyone drives and it drives me crazy. Also I’m glad you said it’s not safe, because yes most of the time it’s not safe by yourself.
