I’ve got a 2014 CLS 550 4matic and I can’t come up with a single thing that I hate about it. If I think about it, I could probably come up with something that I vaguely dislike but overall I absolutely love this car. My biggest complaint is that the leather upholstery is so fine in quality that my dog’s claws leave scratches if I don’t put a blanket down first. I would give this car a 4.9 out of 5 regarding my satisfaction with it.

2012 actually has 443ish HP. Merc listed it as 402HP to avoid the performance car tax. All the major testing companies listed it as 443HP I believe.

I have a 2014 CLS550. Original owner. My list would be; 1. Eats tires. I don’t know why, but the low profile tires for this car do not last long. I’ve tried different brands of tires but they all last about 20K per. I have 77K and I am on my 4th set of tires. 2. Awful in rain and wet roads. Don’t even think of driving it in the snow. Yes, wish I had purchased the 4Matic model. 3. Bluetooth buggy as hell. Sometimes it stays connected, other times it does not. 4. Brake rotors are soft and you can’t resurface them. Getting ready for my third set. Other than that, it’s a fantastic car. Absurdly fast. The 278 engine is very reliable. I do have a slow oil leak that gets the wiring harness wet with oil, but I don’t think that is a long term problem and it’s a minuscule amount of oil between changes. This will be my last Mercedes however. My local dealer is terrible and the cost to service is not worth the payback. Better values out there. MB USA in Atlanta customer service is very poor and clearly run by a chimpanzee holding a tin can. Sad to see from such a once great organization.

Our CLS 500 W218 is the best overall coupe Ive owned. Only problem is the front disc rotors are scored after only 80000Km. My 2011 model still looks cool. In Australia this car was originally sold for$220,000. It's a rare vehicle in Aust.😊

The BT music issue has little to do with Mercedes and everything to do with the BT protocols.. Before you mod your system check if it has the 3.5mm connector and get one Wireless DAC receiver with Aptx or LDAC codec your music quality would definitely increase.. Unless you own an iPhone then music would be still mediocre but the DAC would be faster and louder.

Yes. I bought a shooting brake 500 a few years ago but even here in Europe they are hard to come by with this engine. Everybody seems to hold on to these things because how much more "car" can you actually get? I had to buy a Japanese import with crazy low milage. I had a W219 before and I thougt the shooting brake just looked better than the coupe. And it is brilliant. You can shove pretty much anything in the back, it has folding rear seats, you can take out the luggage cover, hell, it even comes with a safety net I have never used. Last year I hauled about 15 rolls of grass mats for my garden all shoved up to the front seats, the Airmatic pump giving it all it got, that really made a mess of the trunk. I just let it dry and vacuumed it out. Sorry you can't get it.

My 2017 cls550 has the upgraded screen w CarPlay and it works perfectly. Also has the 9 speed. Much better mileage.

I have to disagree with the bluetooth. My iphone pairs as soon as I turn the car on if it was in blutooth mode already . I'll go time it. It took 7 seconds to pair. Thats faster than my apple carplay in the 2022 lexus.

I have the 2014 cls550 and my car connects my phone and starts playing my music the second I turn my engine on and I actually find it kind of annoying😂

i have a CLS 400 i hate mine too...had it a month only has 13000 miles, the car new was $78k...its horrid,handling isnt near as good as the CTS, turbo lag, numb electric steering, the sun visor keeps falling off, no heads up display, no remote start, and i cant find a "vent" setting on the a/c, meaning i have to have it on a/c all the time with the compressor running...i wish i had kept by Caddy CTSV sport, because this MB is no improvement or any better than my previous car...I hate this car with a passion, and im going to try and sell it...
