This rant is legit. Hurts as a longtime Piston-fan but needs to be heard. However, i'm disagreeing with the Cade take. He still has star potential in him and played actually really well with solid analytical stats in his last 12-14 games, after Bogdanovic returned and provided better spacing. He just needs the right system (spacing!) and at least solid NBA players around him. Certainly this distinguishs a star from a superstar, but don't always expect a player with almost 90 NBA games to already accomplish this status. As for the rest of their young core: - Ausar could turn into a DPOY-candidate, needs to develop a jumper in order to succeed. - Ivey is too wild, reminds me more of Rodney Stuckey with even worse defence. Sharpe & Mathurin are currently more polished. - Duren is too injury-prone, can't shoot. A Dwight Howard style of playing does not fit todays NBA, especially not Cades game. - Hayes could be solid backup in SA. He's not starting PG. - You can't dislike Beef Stew as a Piston, but he's not a player to start a game either. To sum it up: Their rebuild failed the day it started by drafting Hayes over Haliburton. They got another chance by building a team around Cade, but failed again by constructing a team that complements his game to the worst outcome through senseless trades & wrong draft decisions. What to do? Start a rebuild within your rebuild. Deconstruct the roster by trading everyone besides Cade and Ausar. PG: Ballhandling (Low Turnover) + Shooting + Playmaking SG: Cade SF: Ausar PF: Stretch4 + Deadeye Shooting C: Stretch5 + Defence

Not drafting Melo Letting Big Ben walk Trading Billups for an AI who just star power by name at that point. A lot of bad decisions by Joe D Trying to build around Drummond instead of tanking for star.

This video is a little misleading with this so-called "cursed" thing. No, the Chauncy Billips trade is not what started the downfall of the Pistons, it was after the Detroit Pistons lost the finals to the San Antonio Spurs. After that, Larry Brown was fired and was later replaced by the late Flips Saunders who took the team to three Eastern Conference finals and fell short three times in a row before Joe Dumars decided to trade Billups away for Iverson which I was not too fond of it at first. Still, I later understood why he did it. I know that a lot of people do not want to hear this but the Detroit Pistons were already dealing with a lot of issues in terms of playoff fatigue, aging, and the lack of developing young talent which is why Darko Milicic and Rodney Stuckey didn't get enough training to be best on the team for the future of the team. I don't know why some people consistently believe in that "curse" stuff. Things happen, that's a part of life.
