For what he did in his short career was amazing and it makes you wonder what he would’ve accomplished if he didn’t pass on. Could’ve gone down as the featherweight goat and maybe moved up a few classes as well.

Haha, no one has forgotten Salvador Sanchez. They say he is your favourite boxers favourite boxer. He is a true legend and one of (if not) the best Mexican boxers of all time. It’s so incredible to watch how efficient he is and how he wastes nothing. Plays with range, ducks down and switches effortlessly from offence to defence. Roy Jone Jr and Mike Tyson both say this fighter is the best they’ve ever seen, and he died at the young age of 23. He had everything you could want in a boxer. Power, speed, footwork, defence, stamina. He had it all

Salvador Sanchez is the greatest Mexican fighter ever and one of the best of all time. He had so many qualities. Salvador has had the best cardio I have ever seen to this day. He'd look the same way between rounds 1 and 15 and without needing to rest one single second in any of those rounds. Had great punching power, awesome footwork, iron chin, head and waist movement, unreal concentration, always threw a variety of different punches, and would never get swollen. Some people have no idea how tiring it is to constantly fight on your toes, but Salvador could do that throughout the entire fight! In his 23 years of age he beat the best African boxer ever and the best Puerto Rican boxer ever, which is still held as the best victory in Mexican boxing. Salvador was regarded as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world above other solid legends like Ray Leonard, Wilfredo Benitez, Roberto Duran, Marvin Hagler, Larry Holmes, Alexis Arguello, Thomas Hearns. He inspired other guys who became legends and champions like James Toney, Antonio Tarver and Roy Jones jr.

Facts brother. Thank you for this video, he was a legend. He already beat 3 eventual hall of famers before he died. True legend.
@jonapp11996 ай бұрын
So salvador is one of my favorites of all time but little heads up saying shit like this makes you sound like a casual and a dumb one at that. A fighters skill doesn't stay the same their entire career. So in saying he's great cause he beat a FUTURE hall of famer is stupid because they may not have been at the most skillful point of their career or at the the point that earned them hall of fame status. Two of them he beat when they were still sort of developing so it's irrelevant
@m.israel22093 ай бұрын
@@jonapp1199two of the three boxers were 9 time defending champion Little Red Lopez, who had already built hall of fame pedigree by the time Sal beat him, the other was Wilfredo Gomez who beat everyone at Bantamweight, whose undefeated and nearly perfect record at bantamweight was also enough to get him into the hall of fame. Azuhamah Nelson was the only whose hall of fame career would come after losing to Salvador Sanchez. Even at 13-0 against Sal showed how great he would be. So 2/3 is not bad. Many fighters today don’t see 2 well established boxers and hall of fame level careers by the time they fight them. Let alone at 23. It was sort of common but not really in the 80. Just shows that era from bantamweight to middleweight was the best ever for this weight classes.

Greatest Mexican boxer of all time! Definitely in the elite of international boxers of all time! Most people don’t agree argue that we never got to see him in his “prime”. The fact is that he faced the best in his young age and defeated them by a noticeable margin. Where as Chávez the supposed “greatest Mexican boxer of all time” always struggled against the best, n would win or tie with speculations. Like vs Meldrick Taylor 1 or Pernell Whitaker. Where as Sánchez for example defeated 3 of the greats in his era, Danny Lopez, Wilfredo Gomez and Azuma Nelson. All of them with a great margin. It was as if Sanchez was giving a lesson in boxing. He made them look like students. I grew up watching Chávez fights n thought he was the best, but not till I went back n looked at Salvador Sanchez.

After looking a bit into him, I'm sorta convinced he may have been an inspiration for Toru Rikishi of Ashita no Joe. Both of them were young, featherweight boxers that seemed to have a promising future ahead of them. They dominated their weight class until they eventually met their end due to accidental deaths. Sanchez because of a car accident, and Rikishi because of his fight with Joe Yabuki. But it isn't just their general history, but they also have very similar faces. The sharpest resemblance being in their sharp jawline and the main differences being their hair and noses.
