Richard Morgan Fliehr (born February 25, 1949), known professionally as Ric Flair, is an American professional wrestler. Regarded by multiple peers and journalists as the greatest professional wrestler of all time, Flair has had a career spanning over 50 years.
Flair is officially recognized by WWE as a 16-time world champion (8-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, 6-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, and two-time WWF Champion), although the number of his world championship reigns varies by source, ranging from 16 to 25. He has claimed to be a 21-time champion. He was the first holder of the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and the WCW International World Heavyweight Championship (which he also held last). As the inaugural WCW World Heavyweight Champion, he became the first person to complete WCW's Triple Crown, having already held the United States Heavyweight and World Tag Team Championships. He then completed WWE's version of the Triple Crown when he won the Intercontinental Championship, after already holding the WWF Championship and the World Tag Team Championship.
Richard Reid Fliehr (February 26, 1988 - March 29, 2013), better known by his ring name Reid Flair, was an American professional wrestler. He was the younger son of retired professional wrestler Ric Flair, the younger half-brother of wrestler David Flair and the younger brother of wrestler Charlotte Flair. He was best known for his appearances alongside his father in World Championship Wrestling and for his appearances with All Japan Pro Wrestling.
On March 29, 2013, Flair was found dead in bed at a Residence Inn in the SouthPark neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina. He was 25 years old. On June 14, 2013, Flair's autopsy revealed that it was drug overdose of heroin and traces of two prescription tranquilizers, clonazepam, and alprazolam, which contributed to his death.
Reid’s gravesite is at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, North Carolina.

@@SCOTTONTAPE "The hardest, most painful and saddest blow in life is for parents to bury their children, when it should be for children to bury their parents." RIP Reid Flair and may I enjoy the glory of God. P.S: Chris Benoit has been a good wrestling fighter. Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) ruined his life and his family. I appreciate his sporting talent that he showed in wrestling, his sporting legacy deserves to be in posterity. Although the bad WWE fans will never have a say, they only represent sporting deterioration. Good fans only show empathy, respect and condolences to the athletes and the sport. RIP the Benoit family and what glory of God I enjoyed.

I met Ric Flair in my 20’’s at a regular dance night club….just in case, clarifying the type of night club was a regular dance night club😅. He asked for a dance and he almost spun me around off of the dance floor. I was keeping up with him spinning me around that on the last spin, he did (3) three loud Woo Hoo’s! People started clapping on seeing him smile and do his Woo Hoo’s. He gave me a kind hug and Thanked me for the dance. A super nice man, very kind and humble. Reid hadn’t even started living his life yet 💔. Sending my positive thoughts towards his entire family’s way. May happy moments with Reid fill their life and ease the pain expeditiously.

It's always sad to see a young life lost. I am a middle aged woman, if I am wildly optimistic, and I am so not into wrestling but it is huge. I was at a Psychological conference at a big hotel a number of years ago and there was a big wrestling event going on at the same time. I went down to the hotel bar one evening and got to talking to a few of the wrestlers and their group. They found it interesting that I was a forensic psychologist so we swapped crime stories and wrestling stories and had a grand old time for a few hours. I knew these guys had a level of fame but I had no idea. The next afternoon I was leaving the conference. I walk out the front of the hotel with my bags and he was in his Ultimate Warrior costume with a big table set up. They were selling tons of stuff, there was a Hummer limo there and 1,000+ screaming kids wanting his autograph. He saw me waiting for my cab and just gave me a quick nod and "nice meeting you" kind of acknowledgement. When my cab pulled up he grabbed my bags and tossed them in the trunk for me. Just that little bit of attention from him got my cab swarmed by kids as we pulled out. Kids were running up asking how I know him, asking who I am. lol I still recall the looks of disappointment on their little faces when I said I am nobody. Like I said, I am not into wrestling but these guys are rock stars in that form of entertainment.

Great comment. Many people think that because kids are older that they are no longer children. The brain is still developing until the age of 25. They may be older children, but they are still, technically, children, to some degree depending upon their individual level of maturity.

Yes indeed, Ric set a very bad example for David, Reid and millions of impressionable males to emulate as did Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson.

Mr. Flair, although we are two different people who walked down two different paths of life our son's passed away in the same manner. My son passed in April 2023 after 15 years of fighting the demon. This pain is unbearable and will hurt longer than we can imagine. May God bless you and your family. R.I.P Reid Flair 🙏✝️❤️

Sorry I am behind in videos. Been and still am in the hospital for a severe wound. I love that you are always so respectful.... but even more so when you talk about wrestling tragedies because very few people treat wrestling and wrestlers with the respect they deserve. I appreciate you, Scott.
