I'm surprised they haven't done anything with the forest area in the EDZ. That would have been prime real-estate for a haunted forest type of area. Make a drop zone similar to the other story missions, drop in multiple ascendant portals that take you to different zones, bring back the "taken" shader for the event, and wrap the story into this seasons narrative. "Xivu Arath's taken forces have invaded the shard of the traveler forest. Push them back and stop them from taking ground in the EDZ. Throw in some darkblade style enemies similar to the dark infinite forest, add FUN modifiers (something we are completely lacking right now) and boom. Similar event with all the items already in game, but different enough to hopefully not catch the "wrath" of the community.

I remember since the first couple years of Festival of the Lost we've been referring to it as Festival of the Cost. It's always been about Bungie extracting money from us, nothing else.

They really should dust off the old code for Infinite Forest, and bring back the haunted forest. Then I would be down to grind festival. But grinding lost sectors, something we already have to do to get new exotics, and potentially better rolls on existing exotics. Having to do it all again because Halloween, isn't enough for me, to justify grinding it out.

The Haunted Forest was like the best thing that ever happen.

I would love to see this festival of the lost play into the season theme as it would make it interesting to have us running some missions in the throne world but keep it dark and creepy maybe like savathuns haunted mansion or something along those lines would be awesome

If they brought back event engrams and at least mad them unlockable for free during the event then that would be more rewarding already. Also Bungie recently puts rskinned transmat effects into the paid pass meaning you even get less value out it than you spend cuz well....changing the colour of a transmat effect from blue to yellow is soo much effort!

I never experienced d1 festival of the lost, idc for the flaming skull i was the flaming wolf, i mained solar hunter when i played d1 on 360 and that would of been the best armor piece of my set

Festival of the Cost is honestly the best term coined for this event. I used to love events in this game. Now I’m just like, am I going to really use any of this? No…I’ll skip it and grind mats lol

The lost sector concept probably would have been better if they made it more equivalent to a legendary lost sector. I would also almost prefer that they just add the holiday themes and rewards into the already existing activities. Add some new and interesting modifiers to playlists, lost sectors and public events. Give us a reason to play those more than on reset for our pinnacles.

This year is looking good loot wise, some pretty good rolls on the horrors least and macabre

Honestly, as god awful as Festival of the Lost is right now, I still prefer it over both D1 versions just because it at least has something besides Eververse. The only good Festival of the Lost, in my opinion, was 2018. - First Haunted Forest and double duplicate protection bright engrams were such a nice addition.

I have taken a break from Destiny every Festival of the Lost, Dawning, and Solstice since 2018.

The devs took a game that I loved and ruined it. Connection problems, game breaking bugs every wk , cheater's in pvp n every game mode of pve . Destiny has so much potential it's a shame to see it wasted .

I don't think Bungie's gonna update Festival much except for the weapon rolls. So no, I'm not looking forward to it, I'll probably just play other games.

The one thing i liked about the events was the weapon ornaments which is kinda weird saying my favorite thing is an eververse thing but its the truth. However for some reason bungie has quit making new ornaments for events. We haven't had one since the last festival of the lost which is weird. I dont know why they stopped doing the only thing id spend actual money on but it's whatever, im happy to keep my money. Also sad they just do the same activities year after year. Im fine with it being the same activity 2 years in a row but 3 is where i call them lazy. Maybe something will change this year but based on the datamined stuff it looks like this year will be one of the worst years for FotL. Also i hate the event cards. They feel so sleezy and scummy.

The reasons that the Dinos and Mechs won over Monsters was because there was only one good looking set with Monsters. The others were complete ass

Events nowadays are just eververse events, no fun left in the gameplay loop whatsoever. It's just marketing.
