I love how, although it was the same song, they each sang it a bit differently; made different parts comedic, made different lines sad, etc. Made it fit each character basically.

@@janascepkova5682 So the ox is diagnosed with dysentery by the doctor, then Joey had a quick change to the ox and came out. he said to the family "Gather round family for the bestowing of gifts" and asks the son to take off his foot, so lauren (son) did. The ox then turned to the son and said "i have always grown fond of you" and then the ox kissed the son.

Karragh I went back and watched and noticed the "naked in a lake" scene is the same in every single one and if you look, Lauren has her shoes off up until the song. I think they just put the song in from a different showing.

Noone will ever see this comment, but I haven't seen anyone mention on any of the endings that it's pretty cool that the band learned this song in 3 different keys. Dad/Grandpa sing it in one key, Craphole/Mouthface in a 2nd key, and Mom in a totally different one.

If you watch Lauren's shoes you can see that "naked in a lake" song was made from two seperate takes. At the start she has one shoe on (as if the son dies ending was not chosen), and Later when she goes to jump up on the box her shoe is suddenly gone when she never took it off (as if the audience chose son dies). Weird, I was under the impression they only recorded the alternate "you gotta go" scenes, everything else was one go.

Naked in a lake is pulled from two performances. Lauren loses her shoe during her death scene to watch it bounce, has it as she "strips", then it disappears as she gets on the crates during the synchronized swim before Jeff comes out with his sax (which I love).

Throwback to a few years ago, when my normal, cool grandma was staying over, and I was watching this musical at midnight. I accidentally didn't have earbuds in. The poop death scene was playing at full volume. It woke her up. God no.

I have watched trail to oregon too many times to count & I always choose this ending (after watching all the others once too ofc) because lauren’s voice literally gives me life
