Sam, while you use a trailer commercially, I use my as a private piece of equipment. The last trailer I purchased, I ordered with Dexter 9,000 lb axles and had the vin plate derated to lower the gross weight rating. I was surprised that your new trailer only had 3500 lb axles. I like having the same wheel bolt pattern on both truck and trailer when possible. Where I live now, they don't have a non-commercial Class A or B license, and I'm not willing to get bi-annual physicals and deal with DOT BS. The state police around here are going after the guys doing lawn care that use a dually pick up truck and carry two zero turn mowers. A friend got nailed for being overweight on his rig, even though he was below 26k, but the combined GVWR of truck and trailer exceeded 26k. He sold the dually and went with a SRW one ton to get below the limit and not have the DOT and IFTA numbers.

Nice trailer overall. We ordered a Falcon 40ft gooseneck. It has the deck over the neck, 3 toolboxes, the spare time mounted under the deck in a tire carrier, chain cabinet under the tongue, mega ramps and a winch plate. Its a monster and cost me $14k.

I cant remember ever saying this before, but I really like that trailer sales guy! The Demco coupler is awesome, I love mine. Like he said, is will lock already closed.

Very nice trailer. The dealer did know the trailer. Did i miss where it was? IMO show the dealer sign, sticker on trailer. Ok you did at end. Mine with 5200 axles no drive over fenders is very handy. BTW a cheat. IF half of tire inside fenders. I put a 5x6” sq post part either side. Build up by screwing in 2x6” Boards. So you are taller then fenders. You CAN drive a wider tire over. Realize you will secure that pickup, tractor... MUCH better then required. IF it shifts far enough it could fall off the side, causing severe damage, injury. I would also do it if heavy item on drive over fenders. Always go next heavier axles. I won’t consider 3500 axles. Neighbor bought cattle trailer, showing it off. I had to tell him he couldn’t load it full. (In hopes he might get a decent one, but price because it was limited)... tandem 3500 axles and it easily holds 7 up to 1300 lb animals. That’s over 9000 lbs on a 7k trailer. 6 head of 1200 he might almost be legal. (Not knowing weight of trailer, tongue weight) I wish I had gotten 6-7k axles. But used at auction, planned use under 10k...

I have loaded and unloaded a narrow front tractor on a trailer using just 2 ramps. Just come in from the side, 90* from the ramps and run the front wheels up the far ramp. stand on the one brake and spin a 90 turn. No problem 😉

I also am concerned with the extension extra width. Have seen some issues with that. And adds lots of weight.

i never heard of diamond c until i started watching your videos, ive got a pj with the drive overs and the frame extensions and i love it but i think when i upgrade im going to get a diamond c over the pj again. they do have cool stuff.

A lot of trailers here are PJ or Gatormade, HEAVY ramps even with the 18” ramp. I’d hate to try the mega ramps on your TP trailer.

Indiana, you can run a 3500 with a trailer and gross truck/trailer over 26000 without a CDL as long as you aren’t using it to make any money.

used a 14.000lb deckover diamond c a few weeks back and the only thing i disliked about it was those ramps. Yes they were easy to raise but they do not lay over flat on the trailer.

Have you ever looked at the PJ's? I'm interested in a trailer, but have to ship it out of Miami (I'm from the Caribbean). Unfortunately, the most common brand I'm getting in FL is the PJ. Havent seen the Diamond C available there.

Curious, is it legal to tow a 20k rated bumper pull trailer when F450/550 trucks are only rated to tow 17-18k conventionally? I heard you can get fined if your trailer GVWR exceeds your vehicle tow rating even if your towing empty?

I have a Diamond C PSA trailer and I was really disappointed on how they just used a torch to cut hole in the tube to run the tail light wires. And the wood deck was made just from #2 grade wood that is splitting all the hell already. I know its a much cheaper trailer than this one .
