Thom thanks for being so open and honest with us. For those of us who are not trans it's very educational. I was quite shocked when you mentioned about the verbal abuse. I just don't get it. How arrogant/entitled do you have to be to make comments like that to strangers? I'm so sorry you've had to deal with this sort of thing. So glad you feel comfortable sharing this all with us!!

I feel your therapist struggle very deeply XD I liked most of my therapists and I have found a nice balance with my current one. But ironically when I discovered Heartstopper was when I had an amazing Therapist who was NB/Trans (I never asked their actual identity, felt like none of my business but I knew their pronouns so I just guess) and it was so nice to talk to someone in the queer space who I could open up more comfortably about my issues with my own queerness. I loved speaking to someone who just understood and I didn't have to spend 10 minutes trying to explain what something was to get us on the same page. My current therapist does her best but she's also an older lady so it's sometimes a small challenge to stay on the same page lol And yeah there's fun little tax and insurance things where you can't be treated out of state, lost a therapist cause she moved to another state and said they couldn't let her keep her clients. Definetly proud of you through your transition

I searched the whole of the internet to find out if the podcast was somewhere out there. And then AFTER that I thought of reading the video description properly and found the Spotify link. Haha. 😅

I believe that sharing your experience is very helpful even if some people don't appreciate it. So thank you for that. Your therapist makes me cringe. I only had one therapist and she was great. Some people didn't like her but she was the perfect match for me. She could really change my view, help me to understand a lot of things and her words still have an impact on me years later. In any case I don't understand why some people feel the need to insult others when they know nothing about them and are intentionally cruel. Luckily I live in a big city and most people here are tolerant or they keep their opinions to themselves. Your fear of change is completely understandable. Starting with a few tattoos seems like a brilliant idea. And you have a great voice. It's very calming. Hopefully you still sing a lot even if your voice misbehaves a little bit. I hope that you are not hurt too badly when your family members misgender you. I think that it's unfortunately hard for some people to change their way of thinking or they simply forget because they don't realise the importance of it. Hope you are doing well. 🤗

I'm also experimenting and trying to work out my gender expression, and I'm having a difficult time with it. 🥴 Question: How do you find clothes that fit you in the men's section as a shorter person? I'm having issues, especially with pants, since I'm 5'2'' (rip). I tried pants from the little boys section, but I have too much of a butt to fit into them. 🫣 Help. I felt the same way about makeup! I used to wear eyeliner every single day and every time I didn't I thought I looked weird. I've gotten used to not wearing anything on my eyes, but it took a while. Hope you have a good weekend!
