Enjoyed the film, and especially the passion you have for the bike. I was one of the first 50 dealers chosen by Triumph when they returned to the USA, and my dealership was Four Flags Motorsports in Hot Springs, Arkansas. All of the dealers were taken to England for a factory tour (among other things) which was a really excellent adventure for me, and I specifically remember seeing different camshafts displayed on a board in the assembly area, and as I recall, the Super III cams were the "red" variant. I also had the distinction of selling the last Super III ever made. I had decided to put one in my showroom, and it occurred to me that if I asked nicely, I might be able to request the last one produced. It all worked out well, and I was given a letter from Michael Lock, the then-CEO of Triumph USA, documenting that this was indeed the last one produced. Unfortunately, I have no idea of its whereabouts now. Just thought I'd share that little tidbit! Matt Lewis, Hot Springs, Arkansas USA

Hi, great video of the Super III, which I found by chance! I also own a Super III from ´94 since 2014 before I owned once a barracuda blue 1200 Daytona years ago. I love these bikes. Unfortunately my Super III has a technical problem with a starting gear into the motor. But I hope to ride my bike this year again. I am looking forward for some other videos of you and your Super III. Thanks a lot for all the informations about this bike and kind regards from Switzerland!

I just bought my 2nd Triumph Daytona yesterday...and it is a '95 Daytona Super III. Had purchased a "95 Daytona 1200 some 2-3 years ago...in the same Racing Yellow. The 1200 is just a fantastic bike. Having the Super III shipped to my locale and can't waiting to take it out! I've owned over 60 Big Bore Sport & Sport-Touring bikes...and the Daytona 1200 is one of my all-time favorites! I'm expecting the Super III will be of the same sort! BTW...I enjoyed the short film...and keep them coming!

Oh...BTW...My 1st bike back in 1969 was a Triumph 650 T120TT/Special. An ex-flat track racing bike that I had commissioned to take on the streets here in the USA. I was 19 at the time and it was certainly a bike that had more than enough power to satisfy a "rookie"! Also have a 2014 Thruxton 900 in the stable.

hi again Joe, that's epic, the 650 t120 is very very popular in Uk , We do to the Triumph Hinckley Factory in Leicestershire quite often for bike meets and there are many there and also the epic Thruxton 900 is fast becoming an appreciating modern classic.

Perusing and came upon this hey it's the Aprilia guy Chasing Tenths doing a Triumph video and WELL DONE !!!! I own a 2005 Daytona. love it.. 955 ccs TOR exhaust, mapped by Clive Wood.. great sport bike, cheap to insure, buy parts for ... vs my 999 which was a bit 'cranky' .. Won the bid off Ebay in 2013 for $6,500 USD w/ 6800 miles 'minty' .. my intention was to 'flip' it and make a quick $1000-1200 bucks .. but after the 1st ride I needed a 2nd .. and I kept it... Oh my friends at Carpenter Racing, NJ, USA Bob, Eddie, and Art DiLarso built the twin 1450cc 558 hp Rocket III turbo engines for the Castrol streamliner Jason DeSalvo and Guy Martin ran at Bonneville. Don't hear much from Alcon on the motorcycle caliper end ... interesting take on an axial caliper for that era.. Triumph/Cosworth helped IIRC w/ the gen1 Daytona T595(955) and then developed the new uprated cams .. and finally the 147 hp 2002 MY Daytona 955.. and man what a howl !

@@ChasingTenths Thanks, im originally from Aberdeen in Scotland, been here 10 years. I have heard from a few sources only 7 super 3s imported here. Bought mine 18 months ago from a deceased estate hadn't been started in around 10 years but been back on the road 6 months now. Nov 1995 compliance plate. 46,000km & rock solid, only mods are raised clip ons above the top yoke. Also a 2020 Ducati Streeetfighter V4s & a 2016 speed triple but the Daytona has a charm & uniqueness modern stuff hasn't. One interesting fact you may not know, after recommissioning & getting it on a dyno i found out from a old wise man that the actual rev limit/peak power is 10,500, the standard 900s have the redline/peak power starting at 9500 just that triumph didnt want to make a different rev counter with the red line at 10,500! Still putting out a healthy 103hp at rear wheel at a 10,350 rpm so you can safely rev them past the indicated 9500!

super beautiful and detailed topography of the history of this mark. When it is question of motor bikes made in England I am more marked by norton having possessed a 850 commando in the 70', and having had an eye on the more recent V4 SG7...BUT NOW, you made me interested in this triumph 900. I remember a long time ago, I used to see these guys with very long hair with these triumph choppers with +12 inch forks, the shifter on the right and the rear brake on the left lol. I found it fascinating, me riding my first bike, a honda cb 900F all Japanese. I was looking at triumphs, like the bonneville (or trident ? ) of the time and other models of the brand too, but the dealer network here was so thin that it was discouraging, while norton was a little more established (marginally more). Anyway...excellent review of the brand, especially the cosdin duckworth part; to say that their V8 are still at the heart of some race cars, and that gordon murray entrusted them with the development of the MAGNIFICENT V12 running at 12,000RPM that goes in his T50...that say all. do i see a 765 on the horizon for you soon ??? haha!

As regards quality of these bikes, I bought one for a cafe racer conversion, and I have to say, I have everything I will ever need in a motorcycle, power, torque, and just the feel of a analogue motorcycle, the glorious engine note changes at different revs and it's a joy to ride. But what I love most about it, strangely is the weight of the bike, heavy motorcycles are really great for the road. I finally understand why Harley and other old school motorcycle riders scoff at the light weight motorcycle brigade. The other thing is these engines and their horsepower claims are weird, my 92 trophy puts a lot more power than the factory says, and I have done very little engine work to it.

I have a Super III which has been wrapped up and unused for about 9 years. I'm currently building a garage and when it's finished the Super III will take pride of place whilst I restore it. When I bought it from a dealer years ago I was told it was quite likely the latest registered one in the country as it had been shipped to Canada for sale but then shipped back again because the Canadians decided it was too expensive. It's T registered so I'd be interested to hear if anybody else has one the same or even later. I'm quite surprised by only 150 being built. I have a book somewhere that says that 805 rolled off the production line.
