We’ve watched this channel for a very long time, and the one consistency is that Michael and Jessica do not trespass. They go out of their way to stay off of private property, and are courteous and respectful of the current owners, and the neighbors. As long as they stay on the public access, they have as much rights, as anybody else. Courtesy and respect goes both ways.

All these years hearing the story and I will never be able to wrap my head around how he managed to shoot everyone 'while they slept'. After the first one, EVERYONE is going to be awake unless they were drugged or otherwise incapacitated. Beyond that... a true horror story for the Defeos.

But he didn’t. Why is no one really questioning the fact that every single person he killed were all “placed” in the same face down position in their bed. I even question law enforcement. Was there not one detective that didn’t sit and think about this? It’s literally impossible that every one of them were in the same exact sleeping position. Something incredibly insane happened during those murders. It wasn’t just the guy walking around shooting each family member.
@dzanier
@dzanier 4 ай бұрын
@@danielleminerva4525 there’s an accomplice angle according to Ronnie. Says his sister and another guy helped him. He wasn’t exactly the most believable of individuals. If he had no help, then it’s really hard to imagine nobody waking up. That’s where the supernatural element comes into play, assuming you believe in such things.

Well the death bed confession didn’t happen, my theory is he was high, saw his sister in a hooded jacket hence the demon, they planned it and he did it without her saying when, odd thing about this is they heard the dog barking but no one heard the .35 marlin rifle rounds? They are extremely loud and there was no silencer? One of those things that make you say hmmmmm.
@EdsterIII
@EdsterIII Жыл бұрын
@@Spiritofthewild1969 That is the exact reason that puzzles me as well. First of all, as you said, nobody had heard any of the rifle shots from the home. That rifle creates a LOUD 💥BANG!💥With how many times Ronnie DeFeo shot that gun yet not one person heard anything? Those homes are NOT so far apart from each other either. They aren't on top of each other, but they are close enough that if somebody shot a rifle, someone would have heard it. Also how did none of the kids not run out of the house in terror? I suppose they could have been frozen in sheer panic and fear. But the neighbors should have heard those gun shots.

I'm 54 and have never seen the movie. But when I was a kid in the 70s, I had the only morning paper route that covered downtown stores. Even then I was a deep thinker and in my own world, sensitive. I would toss papers to the barbershop where he called me Young Pete,(he's still cutting hair, im not lying, I still live here) the shoe store, JC Penney where I'd get my little suits for church, the donut shop, only thing open and I'd get donut holes halfway through my route, Yum! So I'm all alone, walking the papers and then I'd deliver to our two movie theaters, both sides of street. I'd look at those big horror movie posters, week after week, and month, all through the year. It was such a contrast to the blush of morning, birds singing, smell of bakery. I felt the whole dark vibe of the movie and I worried about my 5 older siblings who could go there( rated R) and why such a horrible thing was even made, and put in every town and city. There were soooo many in the 70s, and just seeing those posters was enough for me. When I was finally old enough, just the thought of going turned my stomach. . . . . I do love Halloween though, paradoxically! : ) But I like scaring people, not making them sick to their stomach . . . BOO!! Great video guys.

I noticed that Rober Defeo Jr. looks a lot like Mr. Lutz, which makes me realize this must be the reason why the spirits haunted the Lutz family the way they did, they probably thought it was Robert Jr. I mean Robert Jr. with a beard looks a lot like the guy. And I also want to mention, this is an example of how Hollywood sometimes blows the story up or exaggerates the story to make money. As for the flies incidents, I recall that Loretta Lynn had the same problem in her house on Hurrican Mills, I is supposed to either be a bad omen or a sign that the room was a murder room. I really appreciate the work you two put into reasearching and presenting these stories, they are history and should be respected.

If it sells, it sells. Takes all kinds. Maybe somebody came along with a solid stomach who doesn't concern themselves beyond it as a house. And it may have been a sweet deal, who knows. . . . I used to be a landlord, bought a rental place sight unseen where the poor guy had passed there, (and remained) for a week before the auction. The sheriff discovered first and respectfully told me I could change my mind. I looked it over, and went ahead with it. Had brief contact with his relatives, a little sad, but death is a reality of life. I made a nice little rental place out of it, where I think few others would have. There were some difficult moments, given the circumstances, but I'm pretty comfortable with the dark side of life : ) . . . . FYI to leave this world in your own home, in your own bed is pretty good, considering the possibilities.

The Lutzes only lived there for 28 days, leaving everything behind except for a chest that was made for George by his grandfather. No neighbors on either side or across the street heard Defao shoot that rifle, and no silencer was used. No toxins were found in any of the 6 family members. Things don't add up if you think about it. The man who did buy the property not long after the Lutz family moved out still owned the house until his passing in 2018. It has since gone back on the market. Anyone who owns the house does not like people coming around to see it, hoping that they can live a life in peace, which they deserve, but because of what Ronnie Jr. did in 1974 (I was 3 years old when it happened) that house will never be left alone. I feel it should, and those who had and currently own it should be left alone. No one since the Lutzes have had any activity because something was done about it. The truth about the land prier to the homes existence was finally put to rest, as were the past hauntings that home faced until 1979. The memory of that tragedy in 1974 should also be left to rest in peace.

I have a cousin who lives in Amityville a couple of blocks away from Ocean Avenue. One time while I was there visiting, after explaining how I always wanted to see the actual death house irl, my cousin agreed to take me to see it. We set out on foot seeing how it wasn't too far away. As we approached 108 Ocean Ave - (FYI: At the time of the DeFeo crimes, the original address was 112 Ocean Avenue but that eventually got changed to 108 Ocean Avenue to maintain the privacy of the current owners from people like me who come to gawk at the infamous former "High Hopes" house;) - I felt an uncomfortable mixture of nausea & morbid fascination. I was excited that I finally was able to achieve my goal of seeing the place, but my excitement was cut short when the current owner - a grouchy crabby old lady with gray hair wearing a purple sweatshirt - came out and threatened to call the cops on us if we didn't leave immediately.

Lies that nothing happened in that house. The Warren’s book has the accounts and pictures. Good job ! Love how you tell us the real story. 😊

There were other Amityville horrors in the 19th century. A man was shot in front of his house and then somehow threw himself down the well - so claimed the defense of the men accused. The whole area was looked down upon as lawless and corrupt. I made a short video on it. Always glad to see the Amityville house and revisit the history. Thank you. Ronnie was a cold blooded killer. He even blamed his sister Dawn for killing the children before he killed her.

I remember reading online years ago about the Lutzs claims about the house being "haunted", according to the site they had found out that the Lutzs couldn't afford to keep the house so they came with the story of the "haunting" to try to make money to cover their losses on the house. Apparently the person behind the site said that they did more research on Lutzs time in the house and that sometime after they reportedly fled the home that actually a day or two later they were having a yard sale trying to sell personal items in a yard sale. They also found documents to prove an ad was put out about their yard sale. I've also read that the book about the haunting after it was republished over the years that different events and some names kept changing everytime it was republished. I saw a documentary on TV where people who said that they were in that house after the Lutzs left visiting the owners and they saw no supernatural events going on and the Lutzs were crazy about their haunting claims.

I was actually there a month back and was very careful not to p**s off people on the block. Went to the town and met some locals and everyone was super friendly and chilled. It's a stunning area, beautiful and peaceful. Was a childhood bucket list dream to actually walk to the house and see it from front and back. As I get older I tend to ignore the 'haunted' stories and fascinated by the crime and theories. If you get a chance, read the book 'High Hopes' which would make for a fantastic crime documentary and the true horror of the house and murders.

I will never understand why anyone would choose to live in a house that six people were murdered in. That is something that will never go away no matter what you try to change about the house. They don't want anyone taking pictures or publicity well then you shouldn't have bought it then. Duh

I've recently subscribed to your channel, and really look forward to each one. You are very respectful of the places you visit. thr Amytiville House has always been of interest to me. To murder his whole family is so horrific, especially the brothers, and sisters. I don't know what to believe about the hauntings, i do believe in spirits, but tend to analyse things before i make up my mind. Thank you both for all your content. Sending love from Scotland. 🤗

A girl I worked with years ago actually grew up in that road in Amityville. She was very little when this happened, she also has an older sister who used to play with the one of the youngest children. I can’t remember who she played with and mind you I heard about this back in 1993 when I worked at a Casino in Atlantic City.

I've always been fascinated with Amityville. Lots of mystery. A friend of mine grew up not far from the house. He actually was in it many years ago. It's actually very beautiful. I just recently watched an interview with one of the Lutz children, he seems legit. Who knows though...what an awesome story! Wouldn't it be cool 😎 if a fan bought it like Buffalo Bills house here in PA??! Thanks so much guys! Happy Halloween 🧡🖤🧡🖤🎃

After the first episode that I watch about The Conjuring I immediately subscribed to your channel. I think you guys are awesome I love how you do the research and know the true history of these places and the truth about these events that have been shown in the movies. And that is something that I really appreciate. Because that's I want the truth about what goes on in these stories. So I just want to say thank you and keep doing what you do because you both do a fantastic job. Take care.
