Bass fishing based on water temperature is something anglers have heard about a lot. Some of our long-held beliefs about water temperature and seasonal patterns of bass are just not as accurate as we always assumed they were. See what is really going on with seasonal movements of bass and water temperature.

Spot on...decades of being on the water, length of daylight has proved to be the #1 factor I've used to begin concentrated fishing endeavors. Early in the season, I very seldom take the boat out and do the majority of my fishing walking banks. You are the literally best channel source for real information on bass activities, thank you. And being an ol' fart, I don't blow smoke to sound nice. God bless ya', tight lines

Anglers can be hard headed and when we've been told something for decades it can be hard to let it go! But I think you have consistently shown in your videos that a lot of times what we thought we knew isn't really what those bass are doing.

Photoperied lights the fuse. Heat makes it burn. Underlying, or “recording for posterity” is an endogenous rhythm. I like the time scale adjustment you present. With the volatility -a decoupling of climate and local weather- being experienced such a relationship between photoperiod and water temp may just be being exposed. Then again, don’t throw the bass out with the bathwater… Certain amounts of heat appear to be required for certain activities, such as spawning, and for fry survival. Good video! Love this stuff.

This is the only video I’ve seen on KZfaq that proves the way how I fish to find success any time of the year. A great angler can put the odds in his favor and catch fish no matter what it takes to learn the game. Some anglers can be struggling to catch fish in the winter but I have no problem. Pattern the Bass cycle every year to simplify your process. Good video. 🤙

Very True I Use To Think For Years That in The Winter 50 Degrees and Lower That Bass Would Go To The Bottom And Stay There BUT When I Bot a Aqua View Camera ( Like You i Wanted To Know What Was Going On Down There ) And And Went Out On My Local Water The Ca Delta And To Mention That It Is Moving Tidal Water Most Of The Time But The Water Temp Was Around 46 Degrees The Bass Were Moving Around Like The Water Was 70 Degrees I Could Not Believe It Every Thing I Thought Was Wrong lol
