When Tom left for Tampa, players flocked to Tom. Meanwhile, Bill had to overpay to get slightly over average players. A year later, SB for Tom, no playoffs for Bill. The blame placed on Tom for his last year in NE was unreasonable. He lost all his receivers by the end of the year. When he had Brown, Gordon, Edelman etc, they looked unbeatable. I don't think any of the receivers at the end of that year are even in the league anymore.

Belichick treated everyone the same. Some of the greatest mentors I've ever had didn't kiss my feet after a success, they called me on bullshit. Maybe Tom's ex needs to realize that her career & her industry is the fantasy world, the rest of us live & work in the real world.

The Patriots were a great franchise by their “sum of parts- You have #1/top 6 at worst QB with one of the greatest defensive minds in NFL history who is also one of the greatest at in-game adjustments and preparation. Several defensive stars and future HOFs with great staff of assistants and great coordinators. Probably the hallmark of a franchise that does not lose its mind in free agency. No real challengers in their division beyond the Jets in odd season. They owned Pittsburgh and Peyton in his earlier days.

None of those coaches from the Belichick tree had Tom Brady. If Belichick would not have had Brady his record would have been similar to the coaches listed. Belichick's record without Brady speaks for itself. An analysis was done and it was shown based on statistics that Belichick's defense finished an average of 17th during the time he had Brady. So much for the vaunted Patriot defense. Brady carried the Patriots organization.

Interesting that you mention this. Belichick had little to no input here. The Patriots had during these years probably the best offensive line coach ever in Dante Scarnecchia. He did a fantastic job and several times when he tried to retire he would be coaxed back for one more year. Belichick had nothing to do with the offensive line. That's probably the reason why it was so good. Belichick is a good defensive coordinator. Again an analysis was done and during the Brady years the Patriot defense finished an average of 17th in league ratings. @@paulk5311

You can say that about most coaches. Phil jackson wasn't anything without michael jordan. When michael jordan briefly retired phil jackson wasn't a winning championships with a bulls. There were definitely some things I looked at Bill going what are you thinking. But remember he had the balls to bench a hundred million dollar quarterback to put brady in to begin with not to mention he drafted him. Also I never saw one football down where brady played defense or special teams. No one is perfect so I will just say Thank You Bill.

As to why Belichick hasn't been hired so far, well, the smart money has already been spent elsewhere.

You can only be old school for so long in a young man's game. I don't fault Bill Belichick at all. He came from a time when feelings weren't exactly hung out in front of everyone like today. I think Bill looked at football as a job like any other and the only way to win is to be a professional, be accountable, work hard, be disciplined and do your job. It's just not like that anymore. Today there are so many things going on in the athletes life that the focus on football isn't what it used to be. To be honest though I don't understand how someone could get paid more money than the average person will make in their lifetime, in one year, playing a game for entertainment, needs to be coddled or even externally motivated for that matter. He said that about a minute after Kraft said he didn’t see color. (PC as possible) Then the coach said he saw color and if you didn’t you were racist. 180* difference. Kraft stood there like he didn’t hear anything as his facial expression slowly changed but not in a way that would seem easily noticeable. That coach burst out of the gate with drama, controversy and an obvious agenda to cause pressure for others to be hired. The Not For Long league and anyone that has a job because of it need to take a hard look at the faces/fans that fill the stadium’s. Keep complaining and offending them. When they feel alienated and unappreciated it’s over. There is no other demographic to fill the void.

I don't believe Belichick was fired. I think Kraft gave him the respect he deserved by letting him resign as they parted ways.

What we all know was that Tom Brady was nothing coming out of college, nobody wanted him for six rounds. Bill took a shot on the kid and helped turn him into the greatest QB ever. To say it was all Brady is nonsense.

@@ursirius4878to say that bill helped a 6 round quarterback become the greatest player but couldn't win with drew bledsoe the highest paid quarterback in the NFL or Mac Jones a first round draft choice is a little delusional. He helped Brady but not as much as you think Brady definitely put in the work to become the greatest.

@@ursirius4878 You should look at Mahomes and Allen recent pictures look like on the web. It would give you an idea how lame your arguments are. I was convinced that you thought Brady did not deserve any kind of credit this comment tells me all I need to know about what is your real position. When you are talking about a TEAM and what kind of role he played in said team. You are just an idiot with a axe to grind. Good luck troll with your hating Brady takes.
