There's one correction to your version of Hattie's biography and that is Gone With The Wind, 1939, was not her first big success in Hollywood. Her first big success was in the 1936 Musical feature "Showboat" with Irene Dunne and Allen Jones. The rest of her bio was very interesting.

This is a great tribute to Ms. McDaniel. She was truly a gifted lady. It’s ashamed that Hollywood treated her and other African Americans so disrespectfully. She was a gift to all who knew her.

It sure wasn't just Hollywood that treated her badly.... It was the way black people were treated in general.... too many people today want to whitewash the disgusting racism in our country. The best way to rid ourselves of it is to be honest and own it...And,unfortunately, racism is alive an well today...if you want to check it out, look at todays' Republican party under trump....it's as he would say "sad".

Hattie McDaniel didn't win an Oscar for playing a maid. That was the easy part. She won because she portrayed a force, the reality of the time. She was the soul, bottom line, and backbone of "Gone With The Wind". And she did as much as almost anybody, save Emit Till, to expose the idiocy and cruelty of racist America, as they tried to deny her stature and contribution to the fine arts and to life itself. She NEVER played "just a maid", as the depth and texture she brought to roles was way beyond the scope of a domestic. They criticized her a lot for playing a maid. Well, she was a maid, a few times to get by, and didn't like it much, and it fixed her to show business for the rest of her life, rather to play a maid, than to be one. And despite the criticism, she was on the front lines of the most brutal racism, segregation and discrimination this country has ever known, before there was even a thought of a civil rights movement. It breaks your heart when you read about what she had to go through. And we can't forget about Gabe (Clark Gable), because to stand by and support a black person in those days was career self-annihilation - unless your name was Clark Gable, of course. Still, above all she was a Child of God, and a great artist!

The most criminal hateful of "slavers" were the African Blacks against American Blacks ... custom and attitude has not changed. Oprah made that point because Oprah WAS a racist. OPRAH was executed by a Military Tribunal this year (2024) and hanged for her child trafficking and merchandizing of children's bodies among Americans, Haitians, Africans, and Hawaiians. Read the military-sourced news article at REAL RAW NEWS. As I've written in this thread, WHITE, BROWN, BLACK humans are ALL cousins by NOAH's three sons. son #1 SEM (WHITE skin, blood type-A; descendants were Abraham, Isaac-HEBREW, Jacob-ISRAEL, and eight (8) WHITE sons -- son #4 JUDAH's progeny were Kings David and Solomon, Mary and Joseph, and JESUS -- WHITE skin with rosy cheeks, blood type-A, blue eyes, light colored hair. SEMITES were chosen by Father God Jesus and missioned as His ARMY to "protect humanity and eradicate evil on Earth." JUDAH Tribe descendants founded ENGLAND, and Judah's WHITE brothers' descendants founded SCOTLAND, IRELAND, DENMARK, NORWAY, SWEDEN, FINLAND, RUSSIA, and later AMERICA, CANADA, AUSTRALIA and more. son #2 JAPHETH (light BROWN skin, blood type-B). Father God Jesus missioned JAPHETHITES to "nurture and protect Earth." They founded SPAIN, ITALY, FRANCE, GERMANY, GREECE, TURKEY, and PERSIA and more. son #3 HAM (medium and dark BROWN skin, blood type-B, and BLACK skin, blood type-O). Father God Jesus missioned HAMITES to also "nurture and protect Earth." They founded ARABIA, EGYPT, LIBYA, ETHIOPIA and more. Blood-typing emerged as a science in 1901. JEWS are galactic "not humans" (Book of John 8), blood type-Rh that abbreviates Rhesus monkey blood strain. JEWS are liars (Proverbs 6:16-19) because Father God Jesus said, I GAVE the JEWS as SLAVES to my HEBREWS for MILLENNIA. Father Jesus said, Isaac-Hebrew is "White as cotton with rosy cheeks," and Jacob-Israel is "White as milk." As I written above, SEMITES are chosen to Father God Jesus' ARMY to "protect humanity and eradicate evil on earth." JEWS neither created nor founded anything because JEWS are lying, cheating, thieving, murderers (Proverbs 6:16-19). JEWS were created as SERVANTS and later relegated to SLAVES by Father God Jesus the Almighty Creator of all life. WHITE, BROWN, BLACK human cousins are missioned to keep watch over each other and Father God Jesus' Earth lands, waters, all creatures, and vegetations. We have failed, but we can rise up as ONE to eradicate evil on Earth to succeed! Humanity must fulfill its missions and love Father God Jesus, otherwise, humanity cannot stay on Earth with Father God Jesus for eternity! DON'T DELAY, START TODAY!

It's hard to believe that people ACTUALLY didn't want blacks and whites to interact. I grew up in the 70's and it was a lot different because everybody was getting along and doing things together. I grew up dirt poor, so my family had a lot of friends of every color. I didn't even know about the word race until I was in school, but we didn't let that bother us. We were kids and all we knew was friends and family...no matter what!!!

He was looking for his mother and his real people. So he clung to her as both . He was free to be apart of the black culture in her home without shame. Wat the traditional foods listen to the music even talk the talk in her comfort.

If it wasn't for the Hattie's of the world, the world would be a worse place. It sometimes only takes one person to change the world.

Hattie was a strong woman who didn't just sit by and let others decide her life.. She knew what she wanted and fought tooth and nail to get it.. She had the opportunity for a good life. And lift herself up and out of the way of life that Black Americans were supposed to accept.. She helped open the doors for Black Americans and it's up to us to make sure they remain open. R.I.P. Beautiful Hattie 🙏♥️🕊️

It's good that Clark Was A true friend to her and she understood the time's better than others did. But she failed at love and that's the worst kind of failure for A human being. Sometimes you have to look higher than the earth for love. It's not just Hollywood that fails at love. It's everybody.
