This is incredibly helpful, thank you. The roleplay element you described sounds incredibly tough. In session it can often be the last 20 minutes you finally touch on an actual issue… mad they expect skills in 10 minutes… The guest on a podcast is a good idea, the idea of role playing a personality reducing threat perception. Same idea with TV/Movie characters! For a while I was embodying House when I had a limp 😂. I think it’s natural for those high in empathy to replicate like this, sometimes with accents too.

Hey Francis, I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the time and effort you’ve put into all of your videos - you’ve helped SO many countless people, including me! I’ve watched all of your doctorate videos, and somehow ended up with an offer for a DClinPsy place on my first go applying. It was my first and only interview so I’m still in shock!! On a separate note, I don’t know if you know how important and valuable it is to see East Asian (and mixed heritage) representation in the field - it makes me feel like maybe I do belong here. THANK YOU!!
