Ave Maria! We were blessed to be joined in London by Mr. Hugh Owen, founder and director of the Kolbe Center for the past 24 years. In this video, Hugh explains the Church's Traditional doctrine about Creation, refuting the erroneous modern idea of macro evolution. We pray that the Blessed Virgin Mary will convict all souls about the truth of God's creation, to the greater glory of His Holy Name.

Also, “We should let ourselves be advised to take all the rest to begin with according to the strict literal sense and not to assume that it is being talked about figuratively, but that the things and events which are being related both exist and also stand figuratively for something else... Now, however, since there is no reason preventing us from taking these things first of all in a proper, literal sense, why should we not simply follow the authority of scripture in its narrative of things done, and first accept that the things really were done, and then only after that investigate what else they signify?” - St. Augustine, The Literal Meaning of Genesis, Book VIII, ch. 7.

After they sinned, they repented and believed God, just as David and other Old Testament figures did. So after their deaths, they likely resided in the Limbo of the Fathers until Christ's resurrection, at which point they were delivered. That's my take on it, anyway.

@@CatholicMailman It's Tradition that Adam and Eve are in heaven. There is Scriptural testimony right there in the Genesis story that they repented and believed God (however, if there are other Scriptures in addition, I don't know off the top of my head). I'm just looking at other known examples of Old Testament figures who sinned and yet achieved Heaven through Christ's sacrifice and assuming that A&E's case is the same.

5:59 I disagree on the reason. He was using St. Jerome, and his reason was "omnia creavit simul" since he had instructed St. Jerome to use popular language, and unfortunately, the word for "together" that was common, namely "iunctim" was fallen out of popular use, they were from different parts of the empire, and if left to their own very popular wording, the one from North African would have said ""omnia iuncta creavit" a bit like modern Spanish "creó todas cosas juntas" while the man from the Balkan would have said "omnia creavit insimul" a bit like modern French "il créa toutes les choses ensemble" or "creò tutte cose insieme" - St. Jerome knew "insimular" was "more vulgar than needed" so he wrote the words I quoted in Ecclesiasticus (Sirach) 18:1.

Dinosaurs lived with man until they went extinct. Dinosaurs=dragons. Almost all ancient cultures have stories of dragons interacting with their ancestors. The dinosaurs would have been almost all killed in the great flood, then afterwards the environmental changes combined with dragon hunters would have finished them off. The ancient Scriptures mention dragons dozens of times; use the Douay Rheims version.

@@carstenmanz302 Deep time is an atheistic construct. Scriptural Chronologies going back to Adam, created on day 6, and the Church Fathers confirm, that the earth was created less than 10,000 year ago. Radiometric dating has been interpreted wrongly; rocks are not clocks. The primary Author of Scripture, God Himself, has left us a written record - Divine revelation - Which Pope Leo XIII told us was "dictated by the Holy Ghost" to the authors. He also said no one could deny that Adam was created miraculously from the slime and Eve from His side. It is not hard to believe in miracles done by God. God would not lie to us in His written record to us, which the Church has told us is totally inerrant. Also, genetic entropy shows us evolution is a fallacy. Devolution is happening, not evolution. Look up videos on Dr. John Sanford and Genetic Entropy and search it on creation d o t com .

Yes, it's history. But Moses's way to write history differs from ours. If you write a historical novel, readers will know the difference between it and history books they studied in college. But the novel can still tell us what happened, when it took place, and where it did. I'm an old-earther, though that doesn't mean I think Genesis is fictional. The Catholic Church doesn't require Catholics ro be young-earth creationists. What should a Catholic college do if he can't answer his biology professor's arguments for evolution, become an atheist?
@jimnewl

@williammcenaney1331
@williammcenaney1331 2 ай бұрын
@@jimnewl Agreed. Young-earth creationism seems pernicious because it can help Christians become agnostics or atheists when they can't defend that belief against mainstream scientific cosmogeny. They ignore the Bible's literary genres and interpret it as though it's a 21st-century book when it's ancient. That explains partly why I reject sola scriptura. Dr. William Lane Craig is a brilliant Protestant apologist and a Monothelite. Monothelits believe that Christ has only one will, his divine one. Dr. Craig also thinks Christ has a complete human nature. That makes gis Christology absurd for two reasons. First, since each hunan nature includes a human will, Professor Craig's Monotheilitism implies a self-contradiction when he combies it with his believe that Our Lord's human nature is complete. Second, inMatthew 26:39, Our Lord distinguishes between his will and God the Father's will when he, Christ, says, " And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.” If the Savior had only a divine will, that verse would also be self-contradictory. It would suggest that Our Lord said, "Not my will but mine." Craig tells us that he doesn't need to agree to agree with the Third Council of Constantinople, the one that condemned onthelitisn, since he takes theological questions to the "bar of Scripture." So, is it any wonder that I reject sola scripture? That doctrine, Luther's invention, is absurd. After all, the Biblle doesn't teach it.

Evolution and Faith are not necessarily incompatible .Pope pius 12th was big on an old universe . Pope pius 12th only had an issue with polygenism. Creationism has no metaphysical baisis and this m,ay be the reason for rejecting theistic evolution. The magisterium does not say that faith and evolution are incompatible. The science says that the the universe is about 3.4 billion years old while creationists believe that the earth is only 6000 years old is a big mistake for rhe science say considerably older.Taking every thing in the bible as literal is a mistake.

Believing lying atheists and cafeteria Catholics is a mistake. There is no version of evolution which does not break the doctrine of monogenism (or other Catholic principles) and thus violatesPope Pius XII's clear instruction. We've been largely deceived by believing that what unbelieving scientists present is reality, when really it is speculation shrouded in scientism. The consensus of scientists is that Jesus didn't rise from the Dead, he didn't ascend into heaven, that all of the miracles of the Bible and the saints are false, that abortion is acceptable, that s o d o my is good, that tr an s ge nde rism is good, that co vi dmania was justified, etc. Theres a big difference between operational science, which we use, and speculative historical "science" which speculates on what happened in the past when no one but God was there (and he left us a written, inerrant record which the Church Fathers confirm).

OT/Genisis is largely a retelling or reinterpretation of ancient mythologies from Sumer/Mesopotamia (around 3-4000 years BC), as has long been known. The Jewish Bible authors probably came into contact with it during their Babylonian exile in 500 BC; there may also have been some oral traditions from the original home of the Abraham clan. The Adam + Eve story including the snake originally comes from Ugarit (today northwest Syria), but with a different symbolism/narrative that was then reinterpreted. Judaism did not emerge in a historical and spiritual vacuum; of course, early Judaism was immensely influenced by the first human civilizations in the Orient and also ancient Egypt and Canaan. God has always existed, no matter under what name and what human ideas (myths) about the origins of creation existed. Judaism simply eliminated the many false secondary deities and developed a monotheistic image of God.
