Thankyou for this wonderful film. It showed great maturity and insight. As a disabled man who has survived two large brain haemorrhages, brain surgery and manages epilepsy, I think that what sustains relationships is core attraction, honesty and respect and a sense of purpose in life.

Having now been married for 22 years to my wife who is in a similar position, I encourage you both to keep going together. Our normal was so normal that I forgot to tell my parents that the girl I was dating had a disability. They discovered it when we got off the plane to meet them. Thank you for putting this out. I’m a 63 yr/o 100% disabled vet who is very active. I maintained a 3900 sq/ft house with a 1.5 acre yard for 8 yrs from a chair. I spent $ Six figures $ renovating my house with removal of walls, a roll-in shower, I drive my accessible $75K van and get a new every 4 yrs. I achieved my Master Scuba diving certification, learned to wheelchair curl and within a year was on a team and won the U.S. National Wheelchair Bronze medal. ( there are about 42 competitive wheelchair curlers, including the Paralympic team. Still Bowl, Play pool, swim and much more…Yet, the women in my area of the country, Do seem to get scared by the chair. Dating is nearly Impossible. It may be that they, we are retired or retiring, and feel a chair will negatively impact their retirement. I have a Great retirement income and Full medical through the VA….yet dating is not easy at all.

hi, i have been in a wheelchair since i was six years old and it felt weird to me because i remember walking into the Rady Childrens Hospital for what i thought to be they were only going to fix my clubbed feet but i soon found out after surgery that they did do surgery on my feet and both of my hips they had also removed my left femur for god only knows why and the doctors did a whole lot to my body that i was unaware of and it has led to me being physically disabled and in a wheelchair for the rest of my life and what i've learned over the years is that i cannot let my disability define me in any way, my boyfriend is my ever help in trouble and we have been together for almost 14 years but we then had a beautiful babygirl who is now 12 years old, she has light blue eyes and blond hair and she is so tall, taller than me and i am 5'4 and she is way taller than me and her dad is 5'7 and she is almost taller than him lol but thank you both for sharing your story

The VERY sad thing about it, I am a 51 year old man, And I am not treated differently by the outside world. OH NO! My own family is the ones that do it in my case. REALLY SAD! Did I mention that this is not something they have had to adapt to or get used to. I was born this way. As I said earlier VERY SAD!

I watched this because I have a daughter, she’s 14, and I was just curious to know what a relationship would look like for her when she’s older. I am currently in a wheelchair due to a spinal cord injury too. Thank you for sharing your things. That is amazing how you guys work that out. It's harder than you think being The male in a wheelchair being paralyzed from the chess down but can't seem to find a girl that will accept the fact of me being the Man of the relationship but have to ask her for more help than If it Were The other way around Before I was paralyzed I was the provider But I have only been paralysed 4..2 years But I don't guess it really matters I was single 4..8 Years before that so I'm not missing much lol. Being paralyzed from the chest down Is way more difficult than Just the waist down Considering the extent of the accident they say I'm ahead of schedule I wasn't supposed to drive 4..2 Years yet in 8 months I put hand controls on my vehicle And still am able to do almost everything I was Doing before the accident Just a little slower and can't reach quite as High lol I I'm still the sweet Loving and caring person I was before... Hell I guess i'm just ugly LMAO Any advice would be much appreciated to try to find a girl that would be Willing to be in a relationship like that I practically do everything myself but a companion To love and cherish Would mean the world to not feel like an outsider Lost a lot of friends That morning on my way to work when that stupid bitch hit me It seems like it would be the other way around. Maybe gain some friends. But That didn't happen lol I can't say I'm bored and lonely but I Would love to experience the feeling of being cuddled and watching Movies together and With the farm and everything and my side-by-side ATV with a Drag Racing seet and 5 point racing harness. I put in it We can still tear some hills up And get a little Muddy 😂❤!!!

I think the key is accepting you don’t have to be the traditional “man of the relationship.” Even in our relationship we keep it pretty 50/50 and there isn’t one of us singularly leading. Shift the way you view relationships and the world will open up to you more! Also everyone’s struggles are their own struggles, comparing one to the other and saying one is worse doesn’t help. We wish you luck and hope you can work on having a more open and positive perspective and we believe you will eventually find what you are looking for!
