The flowy hair is magical, Celestia’s and Luna’s hair stopped flowing in the Tirek episode when they gave up their magic. Correspondingly, Cadence and Twilight have both had flowy hair at some point when they did strong spells.

I think twilght’s flowing hair comes from more power due to her growing up also I think they used celestia’s model and changed it to fit twilight so yea

pretty sure this came out before season 9 though, (thats the season where the last episode is in) The last episode came out in 10/12/19, whilst this upload was made in 2016, (im talking about the original upload, it literally says it in the description). so Im just gonna assume its because twilight is further progressed into being an alicorn and thus her physical form is representing her amount of magic.

@@Lunarstar_The_Wolfi think the flowing hair is the depiction of overflowing power. Since whenever the princesses lose their powers, there hair stops flowing. the older twilight got, the more powerful she became. But the flowing hair only showed up on twilight when she was as grown up as celestia. (I have no idea why luna is so much smaller than celestia but my guess is that their parents may have been 1 alicorn and the other a regular pony but they have a step parent so theyre half sister and luna was born hundreds of years after celestia. (Originally because in mym they both look the same age and that contradicts lunas character)

Here’s a theory: I think Celestia was born a unicorn and Luna was born a pegasus. When we first meet Celestia in Friendship Is Magic, we meet her standing and walking around. However, when we first meet Luna in Luna Eclipsed (excluding her substance-less non-Nightmare Moon appearance in Friendship Is Magic), she is seen flying into Ponyville. Thanks to the Cakes, we know that siblings can be different types of ponies, so it wouldn’t be impossible. We also know from Twilight Sparkle and the Crystal Heart Spell that Princess Cadance started out as a pegasus and earned her horn. So it seems entirely plausible that Celestia’s affinity for walking and Luna’s for flying could be because Celestia was born a unicorn and Luna a pegasus.

Sawtooth Waves did forget a lot of things in this video. When nightmare moon was defeated, Luna’s hair wasn’t waving. Starlight glimmer would’ve never become a Alicorn. Starlight wouldn’t really be the princess of anything. Starlight would probably only represent being equal, but the bong equal thing was actually bad. Celestia, and Luna wouldn’t have alicorn parents. Sawtooth even said that Luna’s, and celestia’s reaction should’ve been, “Oh so that’s what happens when a alicorn is born.” Naturally, the parents of Celestia, and Luna were unicorns.

if cadance was a pegasus before turnijg into an alicorn, then it might make sense the flurry heart got her mom's wings and her dads horn and this is going for his theory which cadance is an “artificial” alicorn and not a true one

I always thought that when Clover smart told Starswirl Bearded that she was very strong with the three of them with the earth pony and pegasus, our bearded man thought "hmm, what would happen if we created a pony that would unite both Earth pony and pegasus and unicorn?". Well, he took his students to conduct an experiment. The result is Celestia and the Luna. And Flury surprised them because they were unicorns/pegasus themselves. And as for Twilight and Cadence - the Sisters could find out how it works and be like, "Oh, let's turn her into an alicorn!" And that they will find a job - Cadence - in the crystal empire, twilight - in Equestria. And the transformation into an alicorn itself is a fierce overdose of magic, judging by the Cozy Glow. Sisters - Starswirl, Cadence - who knows, Twilight - elements of harmony, Flurry - the first born alicorn so let it be.

Alicorns could be a maternal trait being that neither Luna nor Celestia have any children due to not being married I doubt they are thousand year old virgins though traditionally royalty has always had to pretend they were virgins if they were not married so that's probably what they are doing

Question that would fit the original videos timeline, if Celestia and Luna said ‘a Alicorns birth is something we never seen in Equestria’ and the theory about a different land, where Luna and Celestia came from originally, wouldn’t it be possible for an alicorns birth to happen in their native land while in equestria, where it originally consisted mainly of earth and Pegasus ponies and not alicorns(before Celestia and Lunas arrival during discords reign), alicorns not being born but instead earned would make sense still, as during Winter wrap up, we hear the ponies say that they never use magic to clean up for spring for tradition because it was originally an earth pony town or something along those lines. So while a natural alicorns birth never been seen in Equestria, it could be possible somewhere else, likely wherever Celestia and Luna come from or something like that.

maybe the hair flow is actually something that doesn't happen until an alicorn get's to a certain age which could explain why Twilight's hair flows at the end of the series or maybe over time her magic got stronger making the hair flow happen we truly can't be sure but I kind of always had it in my head that Celestia and Luna were different because they were older and that was supported when we found out alicorns have a longer life span then most ponies do

05:33 Actually, Cadance started out as a pegasus and then received her horn from Celestia later in life. And also, it said in my research that Celestia and Luna were the first alicorns and there was no sign in each of the episodes. (This is based on research)

Yes , you are right about the theory of alicorns having a civilization but unfortunately a war started at the civilization called the "hundred years war" due to which all the alicorns demolished from the world leaving only Luna and celestia in the civilization worried about the future of pony-kind they started their journey in hope to make new alicorn leaders because only an alicorn can make another pony an alicorn and they started the school for gifted unicorns so that they can find someone who could be worthy of keeping the world of ponies safe and that's why they made cadence an alicorn after they saw her potential and the power of love soon, they made Twilight an alicorn too. And soon after at the end of season 9 they left her as the pony who could be the new caretaker of the world.

js adding on, so in season 9 when Twilight becomes the ruler of equestria, equestria becomes more independent, as not much happened during Twilights reign, except for when opaline took over Luster and Twilights thrones, Celestia and Luna were possibly back at their home town, without the knowledge of opalines attack.

Actually there was an episode where Luna's hair wasn't flowing. I think it's the older the allicorn gets is when their hair starts to get flowy. Just like how in the last episode Twilight's hair was flowing compared to her younger self.

When a unicorn becomes alicorns when they r old enough their main flows and when a pegasus becomes an alicorn their wings have a gradient, when they were young Luna and celestias mane was like twilights

I think this theory can be disproved by one major flaw which is that I'm pretty sure they mention that starswirl the bearded was Luna and Celestia's mentor and this happened in Equestria. Discord's chaos over equestria happened long after Luna and Celestia were mentored which meant they had some other reason to come to equestria not Discord

I always took the flowy manes of Celestia and Luna as being a power thing. I don't know what possessed my brain to think like that, but after seeing so many people try and make it about a ponies type of level of magic without it every explaining all of it (I'm sure there is a way to make it work while also making it about magic, I've just never seen it quite pulled off just right), I just kinda assumed it was about their status. If you think about it that way, it does explain away every problem I've ever found with it. Why do Celestia and Luna's manes flow in the first place? They're in charge of the nation. Why doesn't Cadence's flow, or Twilight's up until the season nine time skip? They aren't the ones in charge of the whole nation, Cadence is in charge of just the Crystal Empire, and Twilight is basically in charge of micromanaging relations and protecting Equestria since the other princesses and the royal guard are so incompetent. Why does Twilight's mane flow in the time skip? Well, we see her coronation and the next time we see her after that is with the flowy mane. This theory of flowy princes amen even explains Luna's season one non-flowy mane! Luna wouldn't have been a supreme ruler directly after being transformed back from being Nightmare Moon, so no flowy mane. Once she gets her title back, though, flowy princess mane.

There’s a book called the Journal of the two sisters in real life. It explains how that happened. Their mentor was star swirl the bearded. Apparently I don’t know that is canon anymore I’m just pointing it out.

But in the episode "Shadow play" Celestia and luna reveal that star swirl was their teacher when they were young and used to teach magic to them so it means that celestia and luna were born in equestria not in an undiscovered part of equestria

In Luna and Celestia‘s old times there was a war three top tribes fight together, but then discord changed it and their parents went out to fight. Kids stayed in their house when it was over. There was a dark cloud. Actually there was no discord fighting little dragon Celestia and Luna became friends with the dragonname discord went out to find her parents realized they were dead😢😢😢😢

Its 100% genetics, let me explain - Cadence started as a pegasus and obviously her wings are her strong genetics and we can also see that since shes the only pony with double color wings but since she has a horn and Shining Armor is a Unicorn theres a common genetic to simplify what im saying Cadence’s Wings= 2 horns Meaning if shining was a pegasus or an earth pony flurry would be a pegasus
