When I was in Bosnia .and it was around 2 months .I was so impressed by the honesty of locals who even tried to warn me to " be aware of ..some refugees " that might be not all decent.Otherwise - absolutely nice and happy staying here 😊, people were sincerely nice ,warm ,helpful. It was the most affordable rent , food ( 4 EU- a meal in the best Central restaurant , and even less in the old City ) People are friendly without any attempts to use you - as a tourist. No drunks , very clean everywhere ( outside and inside of the houses ) peace and happy feeling - with no reason ☺. I hope and pray 🙏 for the best for that amazing country and it's lovely people as soon as possible.

Let's straight out some things. First of all never say burek with chese, you will start a war. Burek is always with meat. But as he says there is different variations, and you can call them pie with meat or cheese. But burek is a turkish word for pie, so one can understand why he says burek with cheese. But just don't do that in bosnia. Burek is burek, it's always with meat.

Great interview. Just to clarify something. BUREK is meat pie only, other pies have their name, with potato-krompiruša, spinach-zeljanica, cheese-sirnica etc. ***If you say burek with potato or burek with cheese, you made a huge mistake which is considered offensive to Bosnian cuisine.

And it is about our Pita Burek (or others) Our homemade pies(Pita) have a specific spiral shape, otherwise the shape that can be found in the ancient symbols of Bosnia, on the ancient tombstones of our ancestors and some other ancient monuments! Also, the name PITA and the meaning of that word can be found in the Sanskrit records. And only in our language has this word still retained!
