I also use Bing. Mostly for the reward points. Free Xbox Live/Game Pass occasionally is nice, and I don't notice a *massive* difference in quality between Google and Bing. Definitely do prefer Google, though.

Excellent vid. Yea, Apple is no longer the titan of creative computing it used to be. A lot of people who upgraded felt like they were better off with their older Macbooks (pre-2016) with more ports, SD card slot, no Bridge OS crashes and crappy keyboard. You should not be making sacrifices when you spend $3,000 on a laptop.

I much prefer the random crashes, blue screens of death, random force updates and force reboots from Windows. I'd stick to using WIndows. Any non-Crapdows fan sheep knows how garbage Windows really is. We all know Windows is for people who are "game freaks". The World Health Organization (WHO) has categorized "gaming" as a disorder. So keep on talking smack you "game freak". When you talk about random crashes, blue screens of death, random force updates and force reboots from Windows, people will then just make the excuse of "Oh, it's driver issues" or "It's your personal problem" like my freaken ass. Windows is a pure garbage operating system, that's why I switched to Mac (20 years of Windows). People wanna talk smack about Apple and Apple's mistake, but not Windows and Microsoft's mistake? That's very hypocritical, double-standard, and ironic. I'll make that mockery voice that all these Crapdows fan sheeps always do when they sarcastically mock about Apple products. "YOU'RE USING YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM WRONG!!!! IT MUST CRASH RANDOMLY AND GET FORCED UPDATED AND FORCED REBOOTED!!!!" "THINK DIFFERENTLY!!!!" "THINK VERY DIFFERENT!!!" You should switch to OneDrive. OneDrive files on demand makes your cloud files a folder on your pc, and you can access it like it was a folder. But instead of keeping everything, it predicts what files you are going to use, and downloads them in advance. When you do edit a file, everything syncs across all your devices. So far, I've had a great experience. Highly recommend!

Google drive lets you have local storage too and do the same things. No intelligent local storage though, but you can pick folders

I love one drive. You also get office 365 if you go with 1TB of cloud storage. It's like $70 a year.

I have a lot of issues with OneDrive when using Windows and Mac machines on the same shared folder. I often need to restart OneDrive application when coming out of standby or the Mac filenames are often incompatible with OneDrive (i.e. space at the end of the filename). And if OneDrive is seeing some incompatible file, it is stopping sync of the entire drive (nice...). I miss Dropbox, but my company chosen Office 365. Dropbox was able to ignore incompatibles between Apple and MS filesystems (not sure how, but it was working).

Regarding MacBooks: They used to work. Always. Five years ago. In the last years there have been so many hardware problems on MacBooks, they almost rival Xiaomis Notebooks in this regard.

@sohaib imran. I agree. I have a 15" 2015 MBP and it works exceptionally good. I'm not into video editing or anything like that, so it is more than enough for me for the next few years

@@ddnava96 people who bought a 2015 mbp could have bought an equivalent PC instead and with the leftover money now buy an AMD ryzen 4xxxx laptop that will run circles around the circles it is running around it. Truth be told though, it's all a misunderstanding this mac vs windows thing - mac users most of the time are single-task focused whereas windows really shines when you need to do a lot of different things at once.. saying it another way, OS X UI is so "clean" because they dumb things down but windows simplifies things without sacrificing productivity.. just compare the taskbar and the dock .Sure OS X virtual desktops are superior to windows ones because in windows you can't move them around and also that maximize as a new desktop thing is nifty in OS X but windows just has all the simple things that add up... plus back in the day OS X used to have a lot of good 3rd party freeware then they made the mistake of the releasing the app store and predictably most of that freeware became not so free anymore.. So Windows range of free tools just trumps OS X's easily

as a pc tech who works about 50/50 macs/pcs, when you say "if you get a macbook its going to work great" pretty sure you just got unlucky on your razer blade, we typically get hp brand ultrabooks and they have SIGNIFICANTLY fewer hardwre problems than the macbooks we get. 2015-2018 macbook pros have an 11% keyboard failure rate.

Razer had a lot of quality issue.. However they got no2 in customer service so kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jL-poJiAyJuVmac.html Let just said that I deal with a lot of defensive people and Let just said if you don't want to waste your time dealing with them. Do not get Razer since new laptop is just as nice.

Apple not only have issues that affect the odd one or two people, they have huge underlying issues that affect every single macbook user, such as the thermal throttling and the fact that they throttle the CPU core speeds to stop the thermal throttling... A throttled CPU at say 3GHz from 3.5GHz is no better than one that thermal throttles at the same rate (from 3.5 to 3)

I really enjoy your perspective of using what you need and not getting bogged down with brands or operating systems. I've used Mac and Apple but I keep coming back to Android and PC for speed and cost. I do love airdrop and iMessage but it's just not enough to switch everything else that I like. Good review!

Damn my girl Sara went full Gary Vee at the end talking shop in the back of an Uber lol. I feel this video tho, I moved to Apple years ago cuz I had 3 dead parts on arrival and the PC brand vs part manufacturers blame war went on for a week before it was fixed...not cool. Luckily I use FCPX tho, all it requires for speed is MacOS, if I was on Premiere I'd at least be considering PC again heavily. Also for anyone out there who has issues with Apple prices I highly encourage their refurbished store, it's basically their brand new PCs a few months later for hundreds of dollars off, can't beat the deal.

If u got a dell u would have returned 4. If u idiots really think lenovo, dell etc. R higher quality than apple u r dreaming. My last windows blue screened every day, not to mention the plasticy feel and lousy screens on them all - espicially lenovo screens. Have u ever used a retina mbp? Doubt it. Stop being jealous, just accept that u have to buy shit because quality cost. Just because u use shitty pcs dont feel bad. Just accept that it is your poor choice

Windows 10 is getting better and better because they have good keyboards, lighter netbooks, and good value for your money. If you waste money on a Mac, there is a PC that is better with that price tag.

Exactly. That's one of the main reasons why I stopped using Apple products. My last MacBook, Late 2012, was plagued with malfunctions that occurred in the first 6 months after of usage.

yep she's going off her experience. and my experience has been nothing but solid, too. I have a 2007 iMac that is now a garage pc, 2011 macbook pro my wife uses daily still, and now a 2016 macbook pro. along with a ton of ipads, and iphones. It's not a myth. those hardware malfunctions happen to a small percentage of users, and i would love to see a windows pc, any windows pc that doesn't have a problem. get off your high horse, both are equal in this world. both mac and pc have their place. yes, I also own a windows pc.

Hardware malfunctions & design stupidity is mostly why I grew to hate all things Apple. Once I tried to buy a mac from the company I was working for at the time just so I could beat it with a sledge hammer .... god I hated the computer!

@@WasleySchultz What high horse? Of course ALL computers have problems and malfunctions. That's my point of taking down apple a notch and refuting the myth that it's somehow mostly hardware perfection. It's not. It's never been. Anecdotal, personal stories are irrelevant. Just look at large support numbers, ask any support technician. I've worked tech support in several organizations that have used everything from Windows PC, various Linux distro PC to MacBooks. Hardware-wise, it's the same shit. We still had hundreds of malfunctioning screens on MacBooks, loose keys, motherboard malfunctions, etc. Same as on the PC side. So your anecdotal experience is completely meaningless in the grand scheme of things, just as my own flawless PC experience at home is meaningless. So please, stop being so fucking offended, accusing me of sitting on a high horse. Jeez...

True. Just windows 10. I've never seen an OS more capable of breaking itself through routine updates/patches. Win 8.1 was truly the last great windows OS we'll ever have. Minimal tracking/spying, no forced updates, no ads or mobile games littering the start menu, no terrible settings menu, stability, mature drivers, etc. The grass isn't greener on either side though. I use both macs and PC's and the cow shit is just a different shade of brown on both sides.

I swapped to an XPS 15 a year ago and absolutely love it - so fast and never plays up on me when editing.. I must admit though I missed airdrop so much I grabbed a pixel 2XL as well because i could at least bluetooth vids to my phone... but other than airdrop I miss nothing about the apple world! Thanks for this vid Sara :D !

Tofu S isn’t joking. Other than the overheating during somewhat useless benchmarks, and the keyboards having dead keys, Apple doesn’t have many other problems. Windows-based computers have screen problems, battery problems, keyboard problems, and Windows problems. Obviously all vary by manufacturer, but the problems are still there.

The Quartz Razer Blade made me want to switch to Razer just to have it, I love the consistency of experience on the Apple side, but damn Razer is pushing PC to the limits in terms of how "Apple-like" they can be. I 100% agree with you Sara, I'm holding on to my 2015 MacBook Pro with Retina display for DEAR LIFE because of the I/O, the connectivity, and...I'm not ashamed to admit it...the glowing logo lol.

I can't say anything about the Mac but the Razer blade has 8-16gb of ram, Intel hd 620- Nvidia mx 150 gpu, and an 8th gen i7 u-type processer, (don't know the exact processer)

You may have forgotten about some other prolific issues with macbooks. The history of the platform is not as sterling as you make it seem.

I've been a mac user for the past five years, and had a similar experience. At the time, Mac OS and the hardware was just the best. I was impressed by the build quality, ease of use, etc. But now, the new Macs have such a crappy keyboard and touchbar I don't want to upgrade. Fortunately my MacBook pro is still going after all these years of use and abuse. I never had a PC laptop last me more than a year, two at the most. But, now that I'm looking to upgrade, I want to consider PC laptops; unfortunately lots of them (even the X1 Carbon!) end up throttling and being too hot for my work. I'm just so sick of all the crap that companies are coming out with nowadays. I'd build my own desktop, but the fact of the matter is that I travel a LOT.

Just FYI, it's entirely possible to collaborate with FCP X, and sling small library files around the world. You just need to keep your media outside the library, which is easy. Also look into PostLab, which makes collaboration really easy.

Everyone though I was crazy when I dumped my MAC, and switched to PC. I have loved it, and will not go back any time soon. I will if Apple ever lets you upgrade your components, but for now ill keep enjoying my killer PC! Thanks for the vid, gave me confidence to shove it back in their face! Thanks, love the Chanel!

It’s slower in premier cuz adobe stinks at code. Fcpx runs circles around premier even on 5 year old hardware. That said there’s certain things you can do on premier you just can’t on fcpx. But most ppl don’t really need those features. I have both but spend time far more on macOS. I rarely use premier now but I do game so that’s where pc is simply king.

I always find it bizarre when people assemble a massively expensive PC rig for Premiere video editing and then triumphantly announce “IT EXPORTS FASTER THAN REAL TIME!” Well, okay then. My 5 year old not top of the line iMac exports FCPX at twice that speed. Soooo...what was the point?

exit8tvlive Because FCPX can’t do anything more complicated than a preset? It’s like creating professional photography using Snapchat filters, doesn’t really work. I’ve used Resolve for editing for a long time now.

Sara I actually had the same motherboard issue with my Razer Blade 15. It was almost like I got scammed out of an extra 1,000 since I had to send it back after less than a year of use. I love the design of Razer laptops but will never purchase one again.

Great videos on your transition to PC. Years ago I went from PC to MAC (because I was sick of blue screens of death, but they seem to have fixed that for the most part) and loved it but it only took a year for me to loath my experience. Switching between apps with CMD + TAB never felt as seamless and snapping windows was painful. Years of using a Mac and now I'm back to using a PC. Everything just feels so easy to do. If I ALT + TAB on a window it actually pops up instead of doing nothing which was what happened 80% of the time when I used it on MAC. All of the Adobe apps I use just work as well as they did on the MAC and now I can play a better collection of games in my spare time. Hardest thing for me is changing from using CMD too CTRL.

I just converted to pc last week with Razer Pro RTX2070 touch4K, and after a couple of days of getting used to Windows now the difference is night and day, it's crazy, I'm so happy every time I open my laptop it's like Christmas morning 🖤 the softwares are the same but waaay faster and better (as a tattoo artist and video editor I use Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effect and Audition as well as Clio Studio Paint Pro) the file management is simply crazy! its easy its fast and I can do whatever the hell I want and after trying the game it came with Battlefield V, I definitely converted from PS4 to Windows without knowing so, I mean I never thought a laptop would be better in gaming and by a large margin! Apple will have to much more now to win back a costumer in me, I dont think they will anytime soon.

This might be considered a biased perspective but as a computer sience student Mac os and apple products in general treat me like either a 5 year old or a 75 year old that has no clue of how to use anything technology related. Also one of the biggest reasons I alaways go for PC/Android is that I am not stuck in a monopoly of products. If one Android manufacturer decides to drop a feature that I use daily I have 50 more to choose from but If apple does the same you just have to accept it and embrace it... Anyway great video and I hope you like your new laptop!

I install MacOS on my PCs because of the stability, UNIX/Linux style of operation, and the "they thought of everything" experience such as iMessage and other Apple applications. I still use PC for the seldom gaming that I do. Final Cut Pro is far more refined for my workloads. I have a full 9900k watercooled build running MacOS with a second Windows partition. I also have a Dell XPS 15 laptop running strictly MacOS with no Windows. Works just like a Macbook Pro and has a working 4K touchscreen (something macbooks don't have) Best of both worlds.. latest top notch PC hardware and specs and the superiority of MacOS.

Does everything work on your PCs running MacOS? IE; iMessage. I recently switched and purchased an old MacBook Pro. I am very happy with the OS. I have read that some stuff won't work with MacOS on PC hardware.

@@mahardaniels Yes all is working well except Nvidia mobile drivers and the SD card reader are not supported by MacOS. Other than that, the Intel HD graphics and even the touchscreen works.

To me Apple is not even in the equation, its PC or nothing, there is absolutely nothing appealing in an Apple product these days. I do admit I briefly thought about switching 10 years ago but after some research and playing a bit on a MacBook that my housemate had I very quickly realized how garbage they are. (Final cut pro is nice though) oh and btw am not unique with these feelings, outside US many people feel the same way.

I use both Mac and Windows, Mac is however my main driver and not because I am stuck in the eco system, instead the Mac just let me focus on what's important vs Windows let me customise so much that I get distracted, this goes for my phones too. I also have a jinx with Windows, with every top of the range Windows laptops I try to use, they just clash or simply do not work after 1 year. Agree that there are some really good Windows laptops out there, but the pricing of these Windows laptops and MacBook do not differ that much, so I am still sticking to a Mac as it lasts much longer for me, MacBooks are also very future proof so I don't need to worry about upgrades and remember I have that jinx thing with Windows!
